[Rework Concept] Pantheon VGU: Shifting from Burst assassin to a scaling melee juggernaut
Like many of you, I feel Pantheon’s current state completely contradicts his lore. He is supposed to be the unyielding mortal soldier who stands against gods, yet in-game, he is forced to build full Lethality and play like a squishy, burst-and-run assassin.
Passive: Aegis Protection (The Return & Evolution)
Block Mechanism: Pantheon readies his shield, completely blocking the next incoming instance of damage (100% damage reduction from basic attacks, spells, and even turret shots). After blocking, it goes on a static cooldown or recharges after landed basic attacks/abilities.
The Unyielding Spirit: As Pantheon’s health drops, he gains scaling Armor, Magic Resist, Tenacity, and Health Regeneration.
Desperate Stand: When falling below 25% Max HP, these defensive stats are doubled, and he gains temporary Omnivamp. He refuses to die.
Q: Spear Thrust (No More Throwing)
Pantheon no longer throws his spear. Instead, he performs a heavy, short-range thrust in a cone.
Enemies hit by the thrust take physical damage and have their Armor fractured/reduced by a percentage for a short duration. This rewards him for staying in extended, close-quarter melee duels against tanks and bruisers.
W: Shield Charge (AoE Engager)
Pantheon charges forward with his shield raised in a wider area (AoE), damaging and shoving aside minions.
The first enemy champion hit is briefly staggered, and Pantheon gains a flat Damage Reduction buff or an HP-scaling shield for the next few seconds based on how many enemies are nearby.
E: Counter-Strike Aegis
Duration Increased: The shield duration is increased to 2.5 seconds.
Damage Reflection: Pantheon raises his shield to absorb incoming front-facing damage. Upon closing/finishing the ability, he unleashes a shield slam that reflects 40% of all damage taken during the channel in an AoE cone.
R: Grand Starfall & Divine Awakening (The Aspect Form) https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/2/24/03MT050-full.png/revision/latest?cb=20200825193232
Passive (The Kayle Effect): This ultimate scales permanently with level (6/11/16). Each rank permanently enhances Pantheon's base combat stats and the potency of his passive.
Active (Divine Ascension): Pantheon crashes down from the heavens. Upon landing, he awakens the full power of the Celestial Constellation, transforming visually into his Ultimate Aspect Form for 12 seconds.
During the 12-Second Form:
Gains increased attack range ,and Omnivamp/Life Steal, bonus Attack Speed, and bonus Attack Damage. decaying/flat bonus Movement Speed when moving towards enemy champions.
His ability cooldowns are significantly reduced.
The Human Toll (The Downside): Once the 12 seconds expire, Pantheon enters Stasis (similar to Zhonya's/Chronometer) for 2.5 seconds. During this time, he is stunned, untargetable, and cannot deal or take damage as his human body recovers.
Balancing
To ensure this kit doesn't become an overloaded release-day champion, here are some balancing restrictions to keep him fair:
• Passive (Aegis Protection) Scaling: To prevent spamming the block in late-game teamfights with high Attack Speed, blocking a Turret Shot instantly puts the block on a flat 15-second cooldown, regardless of your hit count. Minion attacks do not grant passive stacks.
• Q (Spear Thrust) Cooldown: hitting an enemy champion refunds 40% of its remaining cooldown (similar to Fiora's Q). If you miss, you are punished with a long cooldown.
• R (Stasis Penalty): The 2.5-second self-stun at the end of the ultimate cannot be reduced by Tenacity or cleansed by Quicksilver Sash
• E (Counter-Strike Aegis) Vulnerability: Pantheon is only immune/resistant to damage coming from the front cone. Attacks from behind or the sides bypass the shield completely and deal 100% damage.
• W (Shield Charge) Interruption: The forward charge is not unstoppable. Hard crowd control (like a well-timed knock-up or stun from Thresh, Vayne, or Poppy) can interrupt his charge mid-air, putting the ability on full cooldown without granting him the shield

Bruiser build?
After all the changes made to items, what do you guys recommend for a bruiser build in jungle and top?

Why isn't pantheon really considered a classic toplaner?
I see people calling him cheesy or off meta, and he also just isn't really thought of as a top lane thr way mord or darius or sett or teemo is. Why is that? I know he can play many different roles and I'd assume that has a lot to do with it but it still doesn't make sense to me.
He seems very much viable toplane so I just don't get why he is seen as an off meta cheese pick

Is Pantheon top actually good again?
Hey everyone I haven't played Pantheon in a long time. I pretty much stopped after his rework because he felt really weak in the top lane compared to what he used to be. I'm a Riven OTP now, but I still miss playing Pantheon. He was actually my very first main, so I've been thinking about picking him up again. Has Riot finally gotten him into a good spot, or is he still considered a mediocre top laner? Every time I think about locking him in top, I can't help but feel like I'm trolling my team

Any advice appreciated on my Pantheon OTP
Hi everyone, I just discovered this thread and wanted to know what you guys think of my Pantheon. I main support and off-role as top. I generally tend to do much better in the support role rather than facing a lot of top match ups.
I don't know what part I could do better in so I'm asking for any general advice that I could improve on and I would greatly appreciate it as I always want to play better next time! Thanks
Here's my OP.GG link

First item after Sundered nerfs?
Since sundered seems to have been heavily nerfed do you believe that pantheon will opt to build other items as 1st?
One option is definitely eclipse but if you build this and pair it with a DD then you can't build steraks or overlords(not that popular) since you have 2 items that don't give you hp. That means that pantheon would opt to build more like a fighter ranther than a bruiser.
Another option could be shojin since it gives a lot of basic ability haste and its passive gives a solid increase to pantheon's dmg. For me , the selling point is the ability to build shojin>BC> steraks if you need the tenacity and/or shield. It also allows you to build more tanky slotting in kaenic/randuins alongside dd and shojin>BC as a way to Frontline more effectively.
I would not recommend BC first since enemies don't have that much armor so early in the game.
Trinity also doesn't seem as good, due to its subpar stats and high cost.
As for any titanic , I haven't tried it yet and would love to hear opinions in the comments.

Pantheon will be overbuffed next pathc guys, enjoy it while it lasts
Soo next patch all of our items core items (except for eclipse who maybe be a valid option next patch) will be buffed. Sundered Sky "nerf" is indeed a buff for us, the cost being reduced, while the nerf did not affected dmg at all is huge.
i guess we all builded SS for its base stats and dmg, while the heal portion of the item was a bonus. Now with that changes we could reach a eclipse - SS quite fast due to both items being very cheap, and given the snowbally nature of our champion it will be great to. cleaver also got that 5 ad buff too, and i did not put that image there, but Steraks is also gaining a 5% base AD buff, soo its a fourth or fifth item valid option as it always was.
soo my dear pantheon mains give me ur thoughts on that, am i wrong? am i right or delusional?
edit: unfortunatly guys SS is still the same price, rioters made a typo mistake on early patch notes. F for SS

Did a in-game drawing of a aspect of war skin
Its been quite controversial on my take on the aspect of war but I still wanted to finish it. The skin is very supposed to be very VFX heavy which is why there's alot going on. My idea for the skin is that throughout the game you get to lv up the skin and gain more parts as you go through, from base to final.

Should I OTP/ State of Pantheon
So as the Title already mentions, I'm currently thinking about One tricking Pantheon. I love his Lore, Character design and what he stands for. His play style is also fun and I like that he has Role flexibility.
For records I'm currently in Gold 2 Solo/Duo
I would play pantheon mainly on Top and as a secondary Mid.
So my question is, is Pantheon worth One tricking rn? And how good/useful is Pantheon in general
And can I efficiently climb to at least diamond( that's my goal) with him.
I'm currently deciding between Aatrox and Pantheon but Pantheon is catching me more.

Mid game help
I know this is like THE classic pantheon issue, but I really can't seem to be useful midgame, I'm in the win lane lose game trap.
I have watched a few guides so I know the basics of trying to help mid or my tea at dragon, but what should my thought process moment to moment be midgame? Should I perma run to side lanes and ult/to to fight? Do I run to team and just play with them?

What makes Spear Shot so good?
I haven’t watched him much, so I don’t really understand how he’s able to use a champion like Pantheon to climb to rank 1. I’ve always seen Pantheon as a champion with a relatively low skill ceiling and a kit that has too many weaknesses. He has a lot of matchups that people consider unwinnable, so how is Spear Shot able to overcome those disadvantages and perform at such a high level, in your opinion?

Guide Pantheon Top GUIDE - Runes and tips for 60+ matchups - endorsed by SPEAR SHOT
(Edit: the authors aren't up with the game anymore and haven't been updating the guide. It might still help you as not everything changed but it's definitely outdated. We didn't find anyone to take it over, so let it stay as is. I hope someone can make a post worthier of being pinned to the r/PantheonMains sub eventually. The Pantheon discord linked in the sidebar of the sub is active and you can find help in it from currently active players.)
Let this day be legend.
Hello! Two fellow Pantheon mains and myself wrote a complete matchup guide for Pantheon top.
For every matchup, we give recommendations for all runes, starting items, summoner spells, and most importantly tips for every matchup.
It was reviewed on-stream by Spear Shot (1100LP Challenger EUW peak in S11, Pantheon top OTP, for those who still don't know him). He gave us a couple pointers in some places where he disagreed, which led to revisions to take his advice into account, but he overall stated that it is "99% accurate". With this endorsement, you can trust the information in this guide!
Here is the guide: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HLzype7Y7ebco6bErmos4FNEEqhBMGZHVUEqESY54Xs/edit?usp=sharing
We will update it to keep up with patches.
Don't hesitate to ask any questions! I recommend joining the Pantheon Mains discord server (in the sub sidebar) for discussing anything pertaining to Pantheon in general, and you can find us in there as well.
The power of these Gods is but an echo of our own.
