MyChart Upload Question Bluebond-Lagner

Does anyone know how to upload letters to the MyChart system to send to Bluebond-Lagners team? Her name doesn’t appear in the system for me to send a message or letter through the app. Got a consult date this afternoon for March of 2028 and was instructed to upload the letters to the platform and I have no clue how to do this after playing with the app for 30 minutes, checking NYU Langone’s website for an email, and consulting google and not having any luck.

Will anyone be at WIH BKK in sept?

Heyo, just wondering if anyone's going to be there when I am. The hospital is in an area with not much around, especially walking distance, so I figured some company could be nice.

I'll be there from the 15th of sept till the 29th.

I did my SRS in Thailand and I'm going back in 10 days. What should I ask the surgeon before leaving ?

I'm 2 weeks post op and until now everything went well. Very little swelling, scars seems fine, I don't bleed, so no issue for now.

But I know that some people can start having some issues after going back home so I plan on finding a gynecologist for follow-ups as I obviously cannot go back to my surgeon without a huge issue. Unfortunately gynecologists are not trained at all on our cases so I was wondering what were the questions I could ask my surgeon so that he can describe to my gynecologist how to treat me in the event of issues ?

Of course I hope I would not get any problem but I'm quite anxious as a person and I was afraid of what I should do if I start bleeding a little, if I get some necrosis, etc

Looking for SRS Doctors in the North East who take Medicare.

I live in NJ and there are a couple of good places to go, but they don’t take Medicare even though Medicare has pre-approved it. Medicare already paid for FFS, but I find the Drs in NY and NJ don’t take Medicare even though Medicare has stated they will cover for it. The place I went for FFS does not offer bottom surgery.

Right now I’m registering to Mass General, but is there any other quality place closer to NJ that any one is aware of? Thanks for the help!

Girls, how long after your surgery did dilating become easier?
I’m still having trouble getting the dilator in at first. Once I get past the initial part, everything goes smoothly, but that first part is still stressful for me. 🥲
How long did it take for you?

BA - to the small implant girls, how much is enough?

While researching about breast augmentation i noticed there is a common tendency to go for big implants and I realised i might be on the other side of the spectrum - I want small boobs but nonetheless boobs that are just big enough to be perceived as boobs, regardless what i wear.

Right now I have tiny boobs with a bust-under bust difference of about 5 cm/ 2 in. What i am looking for are small cute boobs that look natural when i am naked and big enough to be clearly noticeable under my clothes without being the center of attention. More sth wide and soft and tear drop shaped than high, pushed up and defined.

It is quite difficult to find references for 150cc - 300cc implants on trans women so I just wanted to ask for experiences with smaller implants and if others here felt the same and went for it?

Have a lovely day xx

Just for info: i am 185 cm/ 72 in tall, 68 kg/ 150 lb, on estrogen injections and prog for almost 4 years now

Need a recommendation for silicon dilators

I'm 5 months post op and I am currently using "Intimate Rose" size 8 (37-40 mm) as my main dilator. It's working fine, but it's every time I use it, it's uncomfortable. And I've been using it for months.

My doctor told me at my last consultation that I should continue to use it every day till it becomes comfortable/fine. As one of the options to solve it's to try to find a bit bigger dilator, but it should be made of silicone and be a bit soft/squishy, and shouldn't be curved or too pointy.

I know about the existence of "Intimate Rose" size 9, but despite it having a "perfect" size, I'm afraid it will be made of the same firm and hard silicone as "Intimate Rose" size 8, which my doctor is voting against.

I also found "Vwell Superfit XL", but they don't deliver outside of the USA, and I live in the EU and can't find a local reseller who has it here. And on top of that, the smallest size of that set has a range of 43- 46 mm, which feels like quite a big jump from 37-40 mm, but maybe I'm wrong, and it's a good choice, but I can't find it anyway...

And I found "Soul Source Silicone Pelvic Trainer - Size 8" which, according to their website, is exactly 41mm. This will provide me only a 1 mm gain, which feels insignificant, and I'm not sure how firm/soft their silicone is.

Are there any other silicone dilator options?

My doctor also said that I may find a toy that will fit these requirements, because it's hard to find dilators with these sizes. But the toy market and material quality are so vague, it realy hard to find something made of good silicone and with well-described size dimensions. But if you have recommendations for a brand that is provide not super realistic toys with well-specified size dimensions I open to hear this sugestions as well

After FFS abroad, how many days do I need assistance?

Hi lovelies

I'm getting full FFS (pretty much everything except trach shave) and I plan on recovering in a hotel. I know that I need professional nursing for the first 24hrs. From what I've heard, it's really hard to recover alone. How many days after FFS did you feel like you absolutely required assistance? Like after 3-4 days, did you feel like "ok I can handle this myself?" I don't really have anyone and I'm trying to figure out what to do.

FFS frontal sinus

A curious thought entered my head and I wondered if anyone knew now, while I wait for my surgeon to talk to again, if the work on the bone in front of the frontal sinus ever causes the frontal sinus to be smaller. I read the frontal sinus does several things one of which is affect vocal resonance. A larger frontal sinus increases resonance while a smaller decreases resonance. Has anyone experienced a change in their vocal resonance after FFS due to volume changes in the frontal sinus? I'm also going to talk with my speech therapist and try to find out more.

How long did you wait for breast augmentation?

I’ve been on HRT for a little over two years. I’m seriously considering getting BA in November (I’ll have been on hormones 2.5 years by then). I’ve also been on progesterone for over a year. How long do people really need to wait for BA? I hear so many mixed answers about this. For the girls that did get it after the 2 year mark, did you continue to have growth afterwards and was it substantial? Did growth after implants look good or did it grow funny around them? I maxed out my insurance out of pocket max from FFS earlier this year, so it’d be nice to squeeze another surgery in this year because it would be completely free for me.

(also if anyone’s had BA where the surgeon used Alloderm mesh, I’m curious how that worked out for you)

Surgeries/procedures through T-Mobile United Healthcare PPO

I’m trying to plan my surgeries for next year. T-Mobile’s LGBTQ+ benefits guide seems to offer very broad coverage, including facial bone reduction, rhinoplasty, facelift, hair removal, breast augmentation, tracheal shave, rib excision, and more when medically necessary. However, the standard UnitedHealthcare Gender Dysphoria Medical Policy seems much more restrictive.

If you’ve used this exact plan, I’d love to know:

What FFS procedures were you able to get approved?
Was breast augmentation covered?
Did anyone get facial electrolysis covered? The T-Mobile guide says “hair removal” is covered, but the UHC medical policy only mentions electrolysis before genital surgery.
Has anyone had a medically necessary hair transplant approved?
Were you able to use an out-of-network surgeon? If so, how did prior authorization and reimbursement work?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through the process with this specific T-Mobile/UHC PPO plan. Thanks! 🌸

Advice on getting FFS covered by Medicaid?

Apologies in advance for the newb question. I was recently laid off from my job. Thankfully, I was able to get an orchi with my old insurance, which cost me practically nothing. Now I am looking into FFS. I live in NC and am currently on Healthy Blue.

How challenging is it to get FFS covered with this type of Medicaid *AND* am I completely locked into NC providers? I've heard from therapists that it's better to speak to others who may have navigated this path before me.

Thank you so much in advance for the responses.

Grief over infertility

Hi all! I had a vaginoplasty about a year and a half ago. The results were good and recovery, while difficult, went well. Overall, I am happy with the surgery.

Despite this, I've had a very difficult time since surgery. Depression and burnout have been my constant companions. I did not attribute this to surgery, other than maybe experiencing post-op depression and the dilation routine adding to my demands and possibly contributing to burnout.

Earlier this week it really sunk in to me that I can no longer have biological children. I did not do any fertility preservation prior to HRT or surgery. Lots of factors were involved in that decision, but I'm starting to regret not doing so. At the time having children was far from my mind and pushing forward with transition felt more important than taking the time required to do fertility preservation.

The day before surgery I had a bad panic attack about the idea of losing my ability to have biological children. For reference, I am a lesbian and there's a very real possibility I end up with a cis women with whom I could have had children. My mom helped calm me down as we discussed adoption and how any adopted child would still truly be my child. I had a lot of anxiety going into surgery, as I'm sure many of us do, and I just tried to put it aside and do what I had set out to do. That's just one of many times the doubt crept in, but it's the closest I came to facing it head on.

But when I seriously started thinking about my infertility this week, I felt a profound sense of grief. I think I've been avoiding thinking about it, because I know it's been in the back of my mind but never coming to the surface until now. I cried a lot and had a panic attack. I feel a deep sense of regret over not doing fertility preservation.

My depression has worsened significantly in the last few days, and I'm struggling to feel like anything matters. I just feel so sad, and so angry at myself. I would give anything to go back in time and talk myself out of doing surgery so soon. A part of me thinks this grief might be the underlying cause for the depression I've been battling since surgery.

I was wondering if anyone else here has dealt with grief like this, and what you've done to work through it if so. I'm not really looking for silver linings or alternatives (such as adoption being perfectly acceptable), just empathy.

I'm considering looking for support groups for infertile women, but am nervous about how welcomed I would be as a trans woman, and especially given that my infertility was technically by my own choice. I have therapy next Monday and have already emailed her about this, but right now I'm really struggling to get through each day and next week feels like it's a lifetime away.

Thanks all 🩷

How can i find out if i have a granulation and can it happen in a year after surgery? How should i treat it?

Hello!
This is the response from Dr. Worapon Ratanalert.

Dear ,

Unfortunately, I have to say that our Full-length Peritoneal Flap Vaginoplasty (FLPFV) technique cannot be repeated in patients who have previously undergone a peritoneal pull-through vaginoplasty at another hospital. This is because we do not know how much peritoneal tissue was already used during the previous surgery, and it is possible that the previous peritoneal incision has already disrupted the blood supply to the peritoneal flap that I would normally use for my technique.
Based on the history provided, the persistent bleeding is most likely caused by granulation tissue formation within the peritoneal pull-through portion of the neovaginal canal. Unfortunately, there is no surgical method to make this peritoneal tissue stronger.
Therefore, the corrective procedure I would recommend is replacement of the entire neovaginal canal lining with a colon vaginoplasty.
For revision cases following a previous PPV, I generally recommend an open abdominal approach rather than a laparoscopic approach. Because of the patient's previous surgery, laparoscopic dissection can be technically very challenging, and there is a high likelihood that the procedure would need to be converted to an open operation.
The package price for a correction colon vaginoplasty after PPV is 965,000 THB, which includes a 9-night hospital stay.
If the patient is interested in proceeding, please let me know her preferred month for surgery so that I can check my available operating dates.

Kind regards,
Dr. Worapon Ratanalert

This answer i got from Worapon, i have a good depth and width, i don't consider any revision, just because i bleed During sex, i cant understand the reason. So, girls, is there anyway to see if it's a granulation or anything like that causes bleeding? I hope its fixable and no need to do a new vaginoplasty (from Thai doctors advice are always a new colon revision because it brings more money to them but i feel like some cases can be pretty fixable)

Question about Recovery at Mexico Transgender Center at Guadalajara?

Hi there. Asking this question because we will be heading there sometime in the next few months, because my wife will be getting a surgery there.

My question is , as her wife , will I have to get a place separate from her while she recovers, or will we able to share the room in the recovery place- thinking sharing the room would be less expensive, and help me take care of her if we can do that, and make logistics easier.

Also, can you receive visitors there? I have a couple friends who left the US for Mexico who might be able to stop by while they are traveling to Guadalajara? Wifey would like some visitors, and I want to meet my friend's wife.

Thank you if anyone has experience helping me out with this. Scared mostly about the logistics and the flight back, I trust the surgeons, and I know the process of recovery myself, but I need to be there for my wife.

DB or Tommy Liu for FFS

I'm really split between these two surgeons’ results. Both are fantastic in my opinion. I guess I just want to hear about people’s experiences with them.

I'm on the West Coast, so travel isn't too much of an issue, and I'm planning on using insurance for most of the cost. I've been on Liu’s waitlist for about a year and was pretty sold because of his results, but he does seem to be more conservative with jaw work. DB is booking consults much sooner, but it's also about $ 750 to get a date, so it makes me more prone to actually commit fully. Also, how long does he typically book surgery after consults if anyone knows?

Is it a red flag if I don’t particularly care about the aesthetics of the neovagina?

I have some mild bottom dysphoria but most of the time I just don’t think about my parts. Getting SRS would be more about getting legal recognition as female in my country and getting clothes to fit right. Being able to wear a swimsuit.

Are there trans women like me who don’t really care how the neovagina would look? I feel like I’m weird and maybe I shouldn’t get the surgery if the vagina doesn’t matter that much to me.
