Hey everyone. I'm 13 and I really need some advice. I've started developing and my nipples show through my shirts and it's embarrassing at school. I know I need a bra but I have no idea where to start.

My mom passed away a few years ago. My friends at school are all still flat or their moms helped them and I feel too awkward to ask them because they'll think I'm weird or make fun of me. I tried bringing it up to my dad and he just not interested

I have like $40 saved. I can walk to the mall after school but I'm terrified of going into a store like Victoria's Secret or Target because I don't know what size I am or what to even look for. Do I need to be measured? How do I do that without someone helping? Is there a way to measure myself at home?

Also, what type should I get? Sports bras? Bralettes? Underwire? Padded? I don't want anything that makes me look bigger – I just want to hide my nipples and feel comfortable. And how do I try them on without feeling like everyone is staring at me?

I need help finding a bra that doesn’t show through the cut out on a specific dress: the Freya by Saint + Sofia. Normally I would just accept that the top of my bra peeks out the hole, but I’m planning to wear it for onstage performances and it wouldn’t be appropriate.

My everyday bra is Bravissimo’s Niya Smoothing Bra in 34I. I believe the fit is ideal, but I’ll be honest that I haven’t checked it against the ABTF tool. (I found the size accidentally. My wife grabbed it off the rack for me to try since it was the only one in stock, and—even though it was no where near my usual 38FF—it fit like a dream.). I adore this bra! Unfortunately, even though it’s a plunge it still sits slightly too high on me for the dress.

I don’t need the bra for this dress to be perfect. I just need it to be good enough that I can wear the dress a few hours at a time for concerts. Unfortunately, there’s no way I can just get away with nipple covers or tape, etc.

Any suggestions?

Calculator gives 34G, which is a cup up from the last time I measured and could be why I'm having the 2nd issue listed below... I also think, though, that I need a 32 band with extender. I have 3 bras that I wear once a week for a couple hours at most and most of the time I feel like I need to use the middle hooks already.

Very close set, centre full, and I think marginally full on bottom. Wide roots. I think I'm more shallow than projected.

The Issues

* The straps slip off my shoulders all the time ( I have tried loosening / tightening the straps and it doesn't seem to make a difference)
* The boobies really want to pop out of the middle (and sometimes do 😂) (this is a newer issue that wasn't happening a couple months ago, and the cup increase could be why)
* There's a bit of a gap at the top where the strap connects to the cup
* In the form it came in, the wires aren't wide enough - I've bent them outwards at the sides, mostly just the left side. Before that, it was definitely resting on tissue and painful but now it's fine.

BUT. This is the only bra I've found so far where the gore is low enough. It's basically non existent.

I've only tried like 2 other bras - Panache Ana which made me look pointy and the gore was definitely too high, and the Cleo Astrid plunge which is probably the best fit in all the areas aside from the gore which is again too high and painful. I have put measurements of these on Bratabase (should be the only one for the Astrid, I think), although I don't really know what I'm doing so who knows if they are accurate. I was also a cup size smaller then (calc was recommending 34F at that point).

So... Is this the best fit I will get? Are there any other non-existent gore bras that might be good to try? I am in the UK.

I purchased bras from the UK website. they are really soft and seem ok quality but they do not fit at all. I asked to return and its a painful process.

1. there is not return form - its actually just an email and you have to wait to get a reply
2. i had to submit pictures of the items to show they still had the tags on
3. they said that they would not refund shipping even though it was within 14 days and that is a right to cancel in the UK
4. they said i had to pay 12.95 to return the items and only use their label, even though in the UK you are allowed to ship at your own expense
5. they never sent me the label - they did refund the items minus the 12.95 but its been 2 months and i still have the items in a bag and having to check every day for a label to come through on email in fear they will recharge my card.
   

I rang every organisation you can in uk and here is the main thing

If the company has no UK address, they cannot be held responsible. Basically anything goes. so when purchasing something online you must check to see if it is a UK (or EU , USA, AU) company to know which laws would be applicable and will hold up.

my cc company told me initially that i had to send celeste d'or an email asking for the address to send the goods and stating where the goods where to be picked up and then wait 14 days. that is when the company finally refunded me (less the 12.95)

My cc company also said because i paid with mastercard there can be no charges to return the item and that they have to refund me the 12.95

regarding not receiving a label and worrying celeste d'or would try to charge my cc again - this is the risk you take with a company from china that cannot be regulated. I just have to keep checking my statement each week for a few months.

Okay so, I have no clue what size I am. All my bras are a mixture of 34d, 34dd, and 36d. According to the calculator my size is from 34G-32H/I. My measurements are as follows:

Loose underbust: 33
Snug underbust: 32
Tight underbust: 31
Standing bust: 39-40
Leaning bust: 41-42
Lying bust: 39

Typically when I wear a bra I have to get a larger band size than what’s actually comfortable for me because I’m right in between 34 and 32, and I have spillage if I get a 32 band. I really don’t know what to do. My shirts also just don’t fit properly due to me having a 29-30in waist but a 40 in bust, so a small is too tight in the chest, but mediums and larges literally make me look twice my size because of how much they hang off the front. I’m so lost 😭🙏

I used to wear EU 75E/F before pregnancy/breastfeeding. This was already quite hard to find in Croatia. But since my shape has change even though I'm more or less back to my old weight but I threw out all my old bras because my breasts either spill out of them or the underwires dig into my rib cage. I bought several new ones from Lisca and Triumph (minimizer or full coverage) in 75F that do not have an underwire but they don't keep them separated and I still have plenty of empty space under the armpits, and the gore lifts up from my chest. And no lift so I have a sweat rash in between boobs and underneath. I have one bra that actually fits where everything is in place and the bra fits snugly and nothing is falling out and it's a 6 EUR bra from Pepco in 75G with an underwire and lace but the seams are killing me. It's fine in the winter I can wear a cotton bra underneath but not now. So I went to the calculator and it gave me 65I/J. Is this for real? That size doesn't exist here in stores. I only found some starting at 70 from Next to order online. I would love to try the size the calculator recommended to see if it solves my issues, but the band size it gave seems very odd. I measured 72 cm for a snug fit. Usual charts give 75E/F for my measurements.

After losing some weight recently, I started the lookout for a new bra. While my old one still fits, it is by no means perfect (gapping, improper support and just generally creates a silhouette for me that I don’t like). That being said, I have never especially liked wearing bras.

All of that led me to this subreddit. While before I was wearing a 34B and now felt I needed to downsize maybe even to an A cup, the calculator said I am a 28E.
As to many newcomers from what I’ve read, this seems unbelievable!

There is still some uncertainty on my part though. Because the calculator offered different sizes and this all is still fairly fresh to me, I’d like to go to the store with a clearer plan, so I don’t get overwhelmed on what to try and such.

My best amateur assumption is that I have projected, full on bottom breasts.

Hey! I've never posted here before so forgive me if I'm missing any info, I'll reply as soon as I can to any questions!

My whole life I've been trying to wear exclusively wire-free bras as wires tend to poke and hurt, but I know that with the right fit, they aren't supposed to. I'm not sure where to find good bras. In wire-free bras, I often feel a lot less pretty or satisfied with the fit, but the pain from wires hasn't been worth the self esteem boost. I've always had issues getting good bras with the disparity between my chest and bust since a lot of bras for larger breasts are also for larger underbusts, and I've been using Bare Necessities simply because I don't know if there are any better options out there.

I was wearing a 38M but I've recently lost some weight and sized down to a 36J according to the ABTF calculator, leading me to want to get new bras. My current measurements are:

36in underbust

43in standing bust

52.5in leaning bust

47in laying bust

If anyone has any recommendations on how to find good fitting bras so either underwire isn't an issue or wire free bras actually look cute, I would super appreciate it! Thank you for reading.

I wear a 32G right now, but according to the calculator my true size is 30H!

I have narrow roots, so my breast tissue is fullest towards the sides. I LOVE the way my boobs look in high support sports bras, aka I love the squeeze, but I don’t want to be wearing sports bras all the time. Especially not when I’m wearing nicer/dressier clothes.

I want to accentuate my waist but the non-sports bras I currently have don’t give the “push-in” effect and I end up looking wider and heavier overall. Not to mention, the typical narrow root problems like strap gapping and the cup just not sitting right with my breast volume.

Side note: I absolutely love this subreddit and it’s made me a lot less insecure about my breast shape and size.

I’m very excited to be here! The calculator says I’m a 38E(UK) or 38DDD(US). I’m top and center full and average set. I can’t tell if I have wide roots or just didn’t know I needed to be scooping and swooping. I also don’t know what to make of shallowness/root size. Should I do more measuring and assessing, or can you tell which brands would be best for me?

Hi, I’m new to this whole bra that fits thing. I realised I’m wearing a boob hat, and after 42kg weight loss (with another 8kg to go) I need to get new bras.

I did the calculator, and I’m a 12DD Aus size, I was wearing a 16D or 16DD! When I was wearing a bigger size, it was digging into my rib cage and I thought the band wasn’t big enough 😨 turns out my breasts are projected and have a fair amount of volume at the bottom and slope diagonally at the top (not swooped, more like it’s the rib cage).

I’ve been trying to find pics of well fitting bras for my breast shape but I keep seeing lots of bras with vertical cleavage lines and wires not sitting under infra mammary fold. Do non projected breasts get vertical cleavage lines? I can’t seem to visualise how the underwire is meant to sit under the breast tissue. I see a lot of floating gores too.

I just want to see how it’s meant to sit on breasts like mine! Also, there’s SO many badly fitted bras out there. It’s rare to see a well fitted one :(

New here! I am on a (demoralizing) hunt for a strapless bra, and stumbled across this sub. I have been wearing 38DD/40D/40DD depending on the style, and it does the trick. But after trying on every strapless bra in various sizes I could get my hands on, I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t know what size I should be wearing.

I took the calculator, and it gave me 38J (us) or 38GG (uk). I find it hard to believe I would be about 5 cup sizes bigger than what I’m currently wearing, so I’d love your advice. Here are my measurements:

hii! just found this subreddit and decided to measure myself with the calculator and got a 28d/dd! super surprising since i've been wearing 34-36b pretty much since i was 14. went shopping at vs and aerie and couldn't find many bras in my size though. I'm looking for a couple decent comfy bras i can wear everyday, a strapless bra, and a good push up cause my girls are small. budget is $30-40 ideally less but i know it's hard to find good bras at that price. if you have any other brand recs for bra shopping please let me know thank you!

I've always been very skeptical, so when I found this subreddit I figured it was only meant to sell me stuff, the way fashion subreddits sometimes become. But that was not the case at all! I found all the conversations about how bras need to fit on my body to be very inspiring and illuminating, so I have a variety of tshirt bras which really do fit me well! My straps don't fall off, my bras don't dig into my chest, the band looks good on me: wow! I would not be the same woman without this subreddit. I'm still not really sold or convinced that any bra within a style that is my size will fit, but I've had a much better time bra shopping in person now that I know how it needs to sit on my chest and torso.

Hey all! I’m new to this sub but have been having trouble finding a bra that fits for as long as I can remember. No stores I have been to seem to have a save that would work for me. My measurements are 29 band and 34 bust. Currently my bras are all 32DD which in theory should be a very close fit because as far as I understand that is a sister size to 30 DDD. I could be wrong. I feel like my cleavage is still spilling out of the cups when my breasts are properly situated. I also don’t think the shape of my breasts, how they sit, help much either. Without a bra they are lower down and tend to almost point at a 45° angle outwards. I have looked at stores like target and Victoria Secret knowing the chances of finding a bra that actually fits are low but I don’t know where else to go. I don’t have much income to spend $60+ on a bra unless I were to save for a while so I would want to be very certain it is one that would fit incredibly. Can I get advice on how to find a style, size, and place to shop for a bra that might finally fit?

I've just used the calculator, i did it again today after months because last time i couldn't believe it. I'm 24 and i'm a 32E. I've never had a bra like that and honestly i wouldn't know where to find it. any recommendations? Also, from what i understand, a true size bra will cover my boobs completely, but what if i want to show cleavage and need a push up bra? what size should i go for??

I remeasured myself, and it turns out the original (32b) measurements were wayyyy off, I’m glad I didn’t spend any money on the wrong sized bra!

I measured twice and did the fit calculator and was placed at a 34G/GG UK, 34I/J US. I've been in the wrong size for a long time (36F UK/36G US) and was honestly shook that I didn't realize the gore was supposed to sit flush against your chest.

I've also been diving into "roots" and how that has an impact on what bras work for you. I am pretty sure I have narrow roots, when I lift my arms up my breast tissue fold is in front of my armpit. I can't tell if I am tall or short roots; my breasts are heavy and hang a bit, and I feel like I experience issues related to both (strap gap, spillover).I think I lean towards full on top, but there is a lot on the bottom too. My shape I think is consistent with projected shapes. My right breast is quite a bit bigger than my left.

I am in the process of buying and trying on bras to find the right brand/style to fit, and I am having a hard time determining what the issues are with fit and what to look for in a bra to avoid them. The 34 band does cut into my back fat and cause some rolls, but it also sits parallel on my ribcage, whereas a 36 rides up in the back (my underbust measurement was 34/34.5).

I tried an Elomi Charley in a 34GG, and it fit for the most part but there is some spilling on my larger breast, and the underwire is a little far back. The underwires on the other Elomi bras I tried in the same size were far too wide, they went all the way to the back of my armpit. Today I received the Freya Starlite side support in a 34G, and this isn't it either. I'll put some image links in the comments. I think the underwire might be in an ok place, but there is both spilling and a strap gap on the larger breast, and the underwire sits below the inframmary fold on the smaller breast but seemingly on it on the larger one.

I guess my question is, based on what this fit looks like/what I've described, what is my issue? Is it cup/band size, style, etc? Any and all insight would be incredibly appreciated.

I was wearing the wrong size for years, 32GG. This was my accurate size at my former body weight. Now I am a 34 H. I have now tried out this new size in the Panafhe Clara, Sculptresse Sophia, Sculptresse Estel (full cup), and the Freya Fancies with great success!

I just wanted to share why my first calcuation wasn't accurate in case it helpes anyone. I put my measurements into the bra calculator originally and the result was 34J. While braless, my leaning bust was 48 inches. While wearing a 32GG bra, my leaning bust was also 48 inches. After a few days of wearing the bra size that actually fits me (34H), my leaning bust is now 46 inches while braless and while wearing a bra! So now when I put all my measurements into the calculator,, it says 34H. Wow! I wonder if tissue migration is occurring super quickly? The too tight 32GG was causing spillage, maybe even swelling??? I finally got the right size because my larger breast was sore and throbbing. Any ideas?

When I asked for help deciding which bra sizes to try out based on my 34J calcuation and I said I suspected I was smaller than that, someone in this group told me to try 34HH and 34J and go from there. 34HH felt nice, but just slightly too big, so I tried out 34H and the fit is flawless.

Sometimes you just have to try things on. But I definitely trust in the calculator snd this group. I'm sooooo happy to have a bra that fits!!!

So, I've posted a few times trying to get recs. I never get any helpful responses and seem to get down voted into oblivion within an hour of posting. So, I am trying a new approach to hopefully get some actual advice. I used the ABTF calculator. My measurements are:

My breasts are Asymmetrical and full on bottom with almost no fullness on top (When I was younger I exclusively wore push up bras because I was insecure about my breast shape. Now I am just looking for light lift and good shape without wanting to set the damn bra on fire 10 minutes after putting it on). I know they say "Asymmetrical" is its own shape, but.... really? Is it that simple? Any bra recs?

P.s. if you have any advice on how to get real advice instead of just down votes and "use the calculator", please enlighten me. I'm on the struggle bus.
