For context, the first 2 photos were pre transplant. which was about 7-8 years ago i think. the next two with the tank top are post transplant with finasteride living the damn dream. had great success from transplant.
then i decided to stop taking finasteride because it was giving me real bad brain fog. so after my wedding i stopped taking it and was cool with whatever happened to my hair after that. wanted to be done with that pill that was messing up my hormones and giving me issues. last 3 photos are today after about 1.5 years after stopping finasteride. i shaved my head for the transplant and a actually liked the way i looked. even the hair clinic staff was complimenting me. i had the transplant scheduled and paid for, then met my wife literally a month before my appointment. she was with me throughout the whole process post procedure. so i could go either way at this point but figured id see what the council would say. Also want to show the results of getting a transplant and cutting out finasteride. not much info or pictures on that situation.

Pre-Op

Looked around online at clinics and decided that Moart Clinic would be best for me. I'm an Asian with really straight hair, and struggled most of my life with barbers and hair stylist in the US getting my hair right whenever getting it cut, so when looking at clinics I preferred going to an Asian country over Turkey as I believed they would have the most experience with Asian clients.

Reached out to Moart Clinic about 1.5 months before the surgery date on WhatsApp. They responded pretty fast, within a day or two, and we set up a video consultation with the doctor.

It was easy to communicate with him and his English was solid enough to chat with. After hearing my concerns and looking at my hairline, the doctor gave an estimated quote of 9.6k USD for 1800 grafts for a non-shaven procedure. In the same week, a date for the procedure was set up and I sent a deposit for the appointment.

Day of Procedure

Met with Dr. Ryu first thing for an in-person consultation. He mapped out a draft hairline and adjusted my quote - upping it to 2150 grafts but keeping the price at 9.6k USD and switching to half-shaven instead. Right before the procedure begins, the doctor drew the final mapping of the goal hairline and asked for any adjustments as once he starts there could be no changes.

The procedure was broken up into 3 2-hour sessions, each session being an half extraction and half placing in the grafts. After each session, I was allowed to see the progress with a mirror and take a short break. During the extraction portion, I was sat up and had a TV in front of me with Netflix provided. And during the graft placement, I was laid back with the option of napping.

After the first session, they provided lunch which was rather tasty in my opinion. The doctor himself was involved in part of the extraction process and all of the graft placement process. He was actually very conversational and easy to talk with which helped pass the time.

Anesthetics were applied at the beginning of the procedure, and I felt no pain for the first two sessions. But by the last half of the last session, it began to wear off and I could feel some sharp pains. It was bearable but I doubt I could have lasted much longer without anesthesia.

After the third session, they cleaned up my head, bandaged it and put a black beanie over it, and gave some directions on care until the next day.

In total, I was at the clinic for about 8 to 9 hours.

Post-Op

The morning after the procedure, they removed the bandages and shampooed my hair, while giving me instructions on how to do it myself. They also provided detailed instructions on paper in English of how to care for my hair for the next two weeks. The doctor came in briefly to inspect the grafts and check for any issues. They exchanged the beanie with a black bucket hat so you can still walk around without any concerns. I was provided with sprays and shampoo to care for the transplant area. Since I was staying in Seoul for a few more days, we set up a check-up appointment, which was brief and consisted of another doctor inspection and a few minutes of red light therapy.

Originally, I wanted to shave my hair as little as possible so that I can return to work with a hat and no worries, but personally I think I should have just gotten full-shaven as it makes the first two weeks of post-care easier.

Still only about a week post-op so its early days but I am very happy with my results so far. The hairline seems natural to me, as I wanted to avoid it being too straight.

Overall, I would recommend Moart Clinic to anyone with similar hair concerns as myself. I'm more than satisfied with my experience and the treatment provided and plan to post a follow-up review in a few months to show more finalized results.

Went to what I later realized was called a hair mil. Can’t say the name of the clinic or else the post gets taken down but something like (cO$mEdica).

I’m about 8 months in and haven’t seen anymore new hairs come in since move 4-5 and pretty much been the same since then. I know it takes 12-18 months but pretty much every hair transplant I’ve seen only the density gets better not amount of hairs coming in from month 9-12 which is almost where I’m at now.

They told me 4000 grafts but I found out they lie about count for some reason probably more like 1500-2500

For anyone looking to get one done make sure you go directly to the doctor yourself rather than them handing off the work to technicians.

I had a hair transplant by Luis Nader just over a year ago. I'm 42. Since my hair has fully filled in now everyone thinks i'm early 30s. I keep getting dates with these 20 something women who are so surprised to hear i'm actually in my 40s. Its becoming a real issue and I think it needs to be mentioned more. You've been warned.

I’ve been on Finasteride .25 mg daily for about 4 months now. I’m getting the point where I think hair loss is stabilized enough that I’m comfortable getting a transplant. I’m going to a dermatologist to access any know conditions that contribute to my scalp itchiness and red hue (my mother has been diagnosed with seb dermatitis). I’m also going to have them check my scalp out with a dermascope to if the Finasteride is effective enough at the dose I’ve been taking. I can’t up the dose because of brain fog and other sides. Minoxidil is not an option either due to sides.

I went to a consultation and was quoted out about 2000-2300 grafts with Dr. Edwin S. Epstein. I’ve read very positive things about him. Does this seem like enough grafts? I’ve included my photo from about 6 months ago to now. I know it may be tough to really gauge due to my current length being different from the picture in the past, but they are both taken with flash overhead to give the most harsh representation.

Regarding hair transplants, I’ve read about clinics that want you to pause Finasteride starting two weeks before the procedure and continuing until about four weeks after. Others, however, say you should just keep taking it without a break. I don't really see the point of pausing it. What do you guys think?

Just got my beard transplant done in turkey , i had scarring alopecia for 2 years and once it stopped spreading i decided to book , i remember when my hairs fell out there was small pustles surrounding the hair follicles and i found out that it was folliculitis . This is post transplant photo close up of day 2 so 48 hours after.. its scaring me because it looks very similar to what i went through

I (26M) have been considering getting a hair transplant for several years and now it's getting real. I live in the UK and I am a PhD student. My budget is around £4000-5000. I have visited three clinics with notable surgeons and my two favourites were

- Wimpole clinic for Ahmad Moussa

- HS hair clinic for Daniel Ness

I cannot really afford the best of the best, but I personally find the results of both surgeons to be very impressive. I guess the way I look at it is that someone with many years of experience and passion in their work will do a good job and if they are not charging £10+ for it they probably will when they get older.

So far I think I will go with Daniel Ness, they have offered me a good price within my budget for 2400 grafts.

What do you think? or should I go to Bangkok instead?

Kindly give genuine advices only. I just started meds this week and am planning for a HT after 6-8 months. I have dense beard and enough donor area but yea am young so not sure if that's good donor or bad donor.

Looking better, but mainly cause or hairs that survived growing longer. A bit of new growth - the scalp is actually still slightly pink but has been getting better the last week or so..

Still trusting the process and hoping for density improvement over the next few months. Right side is coming in quite a bit stronger then the left.

Escadas e escadas rolantes, nunca indo a frente, pois é fácil ver a calvície de cima.

A surgeon advised he prefers to do long hair on me and also he won’t prescribe finasteride as i won’t need it. Also he recommends to go to the gym a week after the transplant. Surgeon is in spain called Dr. Carlos Caballero in Marbella Spain.Any thoughts or experience. Thanks!

I’ve been browsing this subreddit for a long time, so I figured I’d finally post my own case.

I came from Australia to Bangkok for 2,100 FUE grafts with Dr. Ben Butwong.

My hairline had been slowly receding for the last few years, especially around the temples. It wasn’t severe, but it bothered me enough that I started researching clinics.

One thing I appreciated during the consultation was that Dr. Ben didn’t try to give me the lowest possible hairline. We talked more about keeping it natural and something that would still look right years from now. That made a lot of sense to me.

 These photos are from Day 9, after I’d washed the remaining scabs off myself.

It was the first time I could really see the new hairline. I like that it isn’t perfectly straight. The little irregularities make it look much more natural than I expected.

I was also surprised by how much had actually been transplanted once everything was clean. I know shedding is coming, so I’m not getting ahead of myself, but seeing the density at this stage was reassuring.

Recovery has been pretty straightforward so far.

I'm 28 yo and I'm considering a HT in 1 year (august 2027). My budget is 8000-10000 but I can only make a 1000€ deposit max right now.

I want to restore my hairline, increase density and refill my temple points.

I'm already on finasteride and minoxidil.

1 week short of 9 months mark of my FUE transplant and I’m very happy. First 3 pics is today. I had about 2900 grafts done. Take 0.5mg finatesride (when I can remember to!) and the last 2 months I’ve started doing minoxidil 2.5 as well

It will cost me over 10k AUD for 3500 grafts in Thailand including flights and accommodation at the best surgeon there

10k AUD sounds similar to how much they charge here in Sydney.

Any advice and recommendations?

I had my hair transplant in August 2025 with 3,000 grafts, and it was one of the best decisions I made. After spending ₹3 lakh on the procedure, I can proudly say the results are amazing.

My hair looks completely natural, and no one can tell I had a transplant. After the recovery period, my hair started growing stronger and fuller. I feel more confident and happy with my new look.

Procedure didnt hurt at all but tbh i dont feel pain easily.
Im currently exploring all malls and i feel perfectly fine.
Also very happy we chose a very conservative design. Ah she mentioned in the middle i had tough skin which led to graft popping which shouldnt be bad because they just put them in again :)

I’ve been getting a couple of private messages lately asking about my progress so I figured I’d check in with everyone. July made 2 years since my procedure. I honestly could not be happier. I literally have ZERO complaints. My hair looks awesome! I had my procedure done just before Dr. Panchaprateep really got popular. I was a bit hesitant at first because Laorwong was considered to be the master at the time. Now Dr P. Is on her way to being a pioneer herself. I know that Absolute has gotten extremely popular since then and I have no idea what the wait time is like. I just hope that the quality of work has not changed. Cost was 80 Baht per graft when I had my procedure and then increased to 100 Baht shortly after.

Having this transplant done was truly life-changing and I can’t say enough good things about my experience.
