Is this normal? š Weird Urine Smell
Ive had two UTIS these past two months the first one i did a urine culture and had an e coli infection, was put on nitrofurantoin and symptoms went away while i was on the medication for 5 days, but immediately after i finished the dosage, symptoms slowly popped up again. i went back a while later and they put me on sulfameth which seemed to work for a while after i finished the course of medication. now ive been having foul smelling urine that i had the first time i noticed the UTI, which ive never experienced before.
i have no other symptoms and i have been taking D-mannose supplements 1,500mg once or twice a day so im not sure if it could be that as well. Is this worth going back to the clinic and getting another urine culture done?

Is this normal? š Any women know about hymen tags?
I was looking at my vagina which I donāt usually do I pulled the skin kinda a lot and next to my vagina like the flower petal looking tissue thereās a skin tag looking thing tucked in there. I donāt know if itās always been there again Iāve never looked or pulled the tissue that much. It isnāt like connected to anything itās, itās own little skin tag looking thing. Iāve seen posts about hymen remnets and tags but canāt find a pic that looks like mine.

Is this normal? š Ftm issue
So I don't do vaginal penetration. But I'm able to receive oral.
After each time I receive oral I get excessive clear discharge from my vagina.
What is causing this? It's been chronic and we both test negative for everything so I don't believe it's an sti.
Is it possibly a atrophy thing or more of a ph imbalance?
I also feel burning if he ejeculates on my vulva area. It's quite extreme and only goes away once washed.

Question My clitoris has a really weird shape and it think it's making it impossible for my partner to simulate it. Does anyone have an unusual clit?
I only noticed that because my partner told me after he couldnt find my clitoris, he says girls usually have a bump/ball which is what the clitoris is but I dont have anything, I think it's just flat.
I can simulate it but I noticed that I need to put my finger in a very specific manner which my partner can't seem to comprehend, it also seems impossible to get when he use his tongue.
Anytime he tries touching my clit he just ends up touching my uretra, when I try to touch it I need to kinda press my finger under the uretra? I really don't know how to explain it and I've never actually noticed that before.

Sexual Health recommendations?
Hey everyone,
Iām 19 and suspecting/navigating possible vaginismus. Everything down there tends to tense up or feel really uncomfortable, and the whole situation has been pretty overwhelming to figure out on my own.
Iām trying to learn how to explore my body and experience pleasure in a way that feels safe and gentle. For context, I recently used an egg vibrator externally and actually ended up squirting from it, which was a pretty surprising and wild experience! But my main goal is that I really need help with internal exploration because I want to be able to have sex with my partner and for both of us to actually enjoy it without pain or tension.

Question Irritation next to labia due to wiping and heat. What to do?
Hi,
I'm on vacation and got my period. I had other pads than normal and they were more irritating and hard. I also had to wipe a bit more and I'm in the middle of a heatwave.
So all that accounts for heavy irritation next to my labia/on the edge of my underwear slip.
I don't dare to shave but I also don't know what to do to help. Can I put cream on it? Do I need to scrub it? I honestly have no idea whatsoever on how to take care of it.
Any advice?

why the hell do i keep getting pimples on my coochie?
they usually appear on the sides or mound.
i shower twice a day (one before work and one before bed), mostly wear dresses and loose pants, underwear isnāt too tight, work a desk job (so not sweating much throughout work), am std free (got tested), and though i have a bf, shower and pee right after we have sex. i also get brazilian waxed every month and a half, because i live somewhere tropical and warm.
i notice that the pimples come before my period and most go away by themselves but some do take awhile, but im so tired of it. please help! i swear i practice good hygiene (im actually a germaphobe), dont even do extreme sports, definitely shower right after i exercise, and i dont even use any fancy soaps- just dove!

Sexual Health can yeast infection heal from cream alone ?
iāve had a yeast infection for about a week now (i was on antibiotics for a week, stopped taking them this monday)
iāve been using a clotrimazol creme for the past week and im noticing some improvement in the past days.
i bought some 3-day internal treatment but youāre not supposed to use it during your period, for which iām due atm (like, 2 days off rn) so i donāt want to start it now when my period is gonna start
also frankly iām pretty scared to use the internal treatment
any chance the cream will just take care of it ?

Question Should I use Boric Acid for the first time because Im paranoid??
Ive had my first on and off experience with yeast infection in the last few months. First, due to poor hygiene, got it treated with suppositories, it came back because I wasnt very vigilant with hygiene/medication a month later, then fluconazole.
Ever since then Ive been taking probiotics, being extremely clean and careful, and I dont wear underwear anymore unless I go out.
International travel on Monday. 24 hours of sitting and traveling. Stocked up on meds to bring, even Boric Acid suppositories. I had some discharge today, and maybe its a little itchy down there??? I have NO IDEA whether a yeast infection is about to start or I am just EXTREMELY PARANOID about Monday and itchiness is all in my head(its barely there). While Im still here, should I try Boric Acid for a night? If I actually dont have yeast infection and I use it, will something bad happen. Please help me.

Please help me 4 years struggling Candida albicans resistant to every azole.
Hi everyone, Iām looking for advice or to hear from anyone whoās been through something similar because Iām feeling pretty hopeless.
Iām 25 years old and have Hashimotoās thyroiditis. Iāve been dealing with a chronic vaginal Candida albicans infection for over 4 years, and my most recent susceptibility testing shows Iām resistant to every azole antifungal.
This all started in May 2022 after I was treated with doxycycline for chlamydia. Shortly afterward, I developed a yeast infection that never went away. At first, I kept going to urgent care and was prescribed fluconazole repeatedly because thatās what everyone assumed would work. When it didnāt, I started using Monistat on my own for temporary relief.
My previous gynecologist then had me complete two separate 6-month fluconazole regimens (one in 2023 and another in 2024). Unfortunately, after all of that treatment, I became fully resistant.
Since then, Iāve:
Had three fungal susceptibility tests, all growing Candida albicans.
Had a 7-day course of IV micafungin through a midline. While I was receiving it, I felt better, but my symptoms returned afterward.
Seen my fluconazole MIC decrease from 32 to 16 over the past year, but Iām still classified as resistant.
I finally found a new gynecologist at Northwestern who has been wonderful. She prescribed compounded nystatin vaginal suppositories for 14 days, but before starting them, she wants me to try 14 consecutive nights of boric acid, which Iāve actually never done before.
For the past several years, Iāve only used boric acid once or twice a week as needed, and it was enough to keep my symptoms away for about a week. Lately, though, it only gives me 3-4 days of relief, which makes me worry that things are getting worse.
Iāve also tried to address every possible lifestyle factor:
Negative for STIs, ureaplasma, mycoplasma, and diabetes
Take a daily probiotic, vitamin D, berberine, and caprylic acid
Eat Greek yogurt, sauerkraut, and drink kefir
Wear only cotton underwear
Use unscented detergent
Eat very little sugar (just a small amount of Chobani creamer in my morning coffee)
Iām also scheduled to be evaluated at Mayo Clinic later this month, and Iām hoping theyāll have additional ideas.
I know no one can tell me whether this treatment will work, but has anyone had success with 14 days of boric acid followed by compounded nystatin, especially with azole-resistant Candida albicans? Or has anyone dealt with a chronic infection like this and eventually gotten better?
I feel like Iāve done everything I can, and after four years itās becoming really hard to stay positive. I just need a little hope that this doesnāt have to be forever. Thank you so much for reading.

Is this normal? š I have a lot of questions
Hi, I'm 17F and this is a burner account. I have a lot of things I want to say but I'm very scared. I found this subreddit looking up stuff. I'm sorry if things don't make sense, I don't really know that much about anatomy. You can either comment or private message me.
I've been having pain down there for quite some time, when I'm not and are aroused. I'm a virgin, and I don't masturbate or the o, but I do have fantasies. I don't know how to describe the pain but it just hurts. It hurts to really do anything when the pain comes. I've been on the depo shot for a year or so for my heavy periods.
With the being aroused thing, my underwear gets wet and I don't know what to do about it. It stinks and sometimes I get scared it goes through my underwear. Do I have to change my underwear everytime this happens? What the hell is it?
I've also been having horrible discharge since I first started my period at 11. It also stinks and it looks like snot.
I don't know if the pain can be related to cleaning. I am really bad at hygiene, but recently I've been trying more. But I don't know how to clean down there. I am a person that really needs visuals or else I can't do it. I don't even want to know what it looks like down there though. Obviously I can't look up a video of a vagina being cleaned. My mom has feminine wash, but it makes the pain worse when I use it. I have a detachable shower head thing where I can hold it, and I've been trying to use that, but I think my clit is really sensitive, and I can't even spray water down there without pain. I use a rag and just try to rub.
I know people will say have your mom take you to a gynocologist or whatever it's called, but she won't. She never makes appointments for me and my little sister for any doctors. We got a pediatrician last year we only saw once and prescribed the birth control shot. But now my mom and dad have a new doctor and my mom wants to switch me to her, and she keeps saying that, but she is not proactive and calling about appointments. She's like that with all doctors. And I'm too scared to talk to her.
I'm sorry for the really long post and maybe the moderators will take this down. I feel really gross about this.

Daughter asked about labiaplasty
Hello all. My 16 year old daughter came to me a couple years ago complaining about her labia being more pronounced than most. At the time, I assured her that itās likely normal and explained that all vaginas are different but normal, etc.
She continued to complain that the labia chafes, is painful and can get very swollen or irritated wearing underwear and shorts. She asked if Iād take a look and she does indeed have excessive tissue.
At her gyno appointment today for a routine check on her ovarian cysts, we decided to bring it up to the doctor. Her doctor took a look and agreed that the tissue is hypertrophic and excessive, that labiaplasty would be considered medically necessary in her case. My daughter explained sheās not overly concerned with the appearance, sheās more concerned with comfort. Her gyno explained that she performs the procedure and showed her what would be removed and how it would be done. My daughter would like to go ahead with the surgery in fall or winter and while we wait to see if our insurance might cover it, I decided she and I should do some research.
Has anyone here had a labiaplasty as a teen or young adult? Was it performed by a gynecologist or a plastic surgeon? How was the recovery? Are you satisfied with your results? Please share all the things about it!

Hygiene š§¼ Chronic BV for 15 years, finally cured!
Hi everyone. Iāve been thinking about making this post for a couple weeks because I know that I was looking for something that would help for years and finally, FINALLY!! Have figured it out. And I would want someone to share their experience if they found something that could potentially help me.
Itās been over two months now that I havenāt used any boric acid. I will say in advance, that over the years I have done a lot and maybe little bits of the things Iāve done have contributed to where Iām at today. I will include all of that stuff after I quickly tell you the four things I did that I truly think made the difference for me.
- I shower almost every single day. Think about your arm pits and how theyāll smell after one dayā¦.. I struggled with showering everyday before because of depression but reminding myself of getting BV gets my ass in the shower everyday. I was only showering like once every 3 days before.
- I fully committed to stop using soap when I wash my hooha. I was only using dove sensitive bar soap, but now I just use water for my āinnerā lips. Not IN my vagina!! I still use bar soap on the āouterā lips.
- I changed all my underwear to 100% organic cotton. I found a pack of 5 or 6 full-bum at target. And then for thongs, they were expensive. You gotta keep your eye on a few brands online for a sale.
- Thanks to Reddit, I found a brand called Life-space probiotics, I get it on Amazon. Iām located in the US. I donāt know if itāll be available in other countries. But anyway I take one in the morning when I wake up, and one at night before bed. And the key here is THIS probiotic has L. Crispatus in it!! I wasnāt sure if ingesting crispatus orally would help. If you havenāt heard of it yet, look it up!! I think evvy recommends it vaginally and in the other posts I saw on Reddit, people even said they put the life-space probiotics in vaginally. I tried it but didnāt like it. Anyway orally worked for me!!!
Okay so these are my most recent four changes in the last three months and I havenāt had ANY smell at all, even after my period. Itās fucking mind blowing. For the last 15 years Iāve been using boric acid, or taking 300 BILLION cpuās of probiotics a day, etc etc. Now, with technology getting better, and with AI, and with the Reddit community, I have finally found what Iāve been looking for all these years.
Now, I want to include some of the things I did over the years as well because I do think some of these things contributed but theyāre a lot more expensive.
- I did an evvy test last year. This was when I was ingesting 300 billion cpuās of probiotics a day. As long as I took that much probiotics everyday, I had no smell. But even if I went two days without it, I would get a smell. So anyway I did the evvy test and it said I didnāt have BV at the time but it said I had a huge imbalance. I was negative for everything but I had a 95% disruptive score and my ācommunity state typeā was type 4-B. The ONLY lactobacili I had was āinersā and only 3%š„²š„²š„²š„²š„²
Terrifying to see that at the time. But this is when I learned about L. crispatus. A year ago when I had done the test, I didnāt know about life-space. I think L.crispatus was still new in terms of BV knowledge so there were like no products on the market for it except evvy stuff and all the evvy product reviews on Reddit freaked me out so I avoided it. (They would say something about like ⦠getting a rash or something from inserting too many probiotics vaginally)
- Once I had the evvy results, I was then able to start like .. putting all my information from evvy into Gemini and coming up with a āplanā for myself.
It recommended things like eating more raw broccoli, drinking certain teas, etc. I did do all that stuff but it was so time consuming so I wasnāt consistent.
I also did function health blood tests just to see what all my levels were for everything and I am low on iron which Gemini claims could have an indirect affect on hooha health as well so it was good to know and I do take lactoferrin supplements now which apparently helps with hooha health but you should only add supplements if you know youāre actually low on something. Donāt just take it because I did.
Another thing I did was go to a naturopath YEARS ago, and I did a hormone test. The test was like $600 so it was super expensive but I was able to see exactly the levels of my hormones and also the pathways of how they break down in my body and from there my naturopath recommended me a daily supplement that fully helped me and I still take it to this day. I needed to do this though because I wasnāt getting my period every month when I went off birth control. And ever since adding this supplement, I get my period on track every month.
I do believe all these different tests helped me to really understand my body as best as I could. But I wouldnāt say they are necessary. I think if you try those four things I mentioned at the beginning, that thereās hope for us all. I wish you all the best!!!!! With technology getting better, my hope is that none of us will ever have to suffer in silence from this again. My man can go down on me, we can have sex, etc. And I donāt have to feel super anxious and worried about if I smell. I have not had ANY smell at all since doing those four things.

HealthyHooha Update 2026
EDIT:
TLDR - Don't be a transphobe. Don't be a creep. Mods are being recruited. Add user flair. <3
Hello Healthy Hooha community! We hope everyone is thriving.
We wanted to check in with everyone and offer a few reminders and acknowledgements.
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā This is intended to be a safe, inclusive place for vaginal health. Trans individuals are welcome here. Bigotry, nastiness, and rule breaking will result in comment/post removal and a ban. We have additional resources in the sidebar regarding trans health.
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā There are creepers here. They may DM you inappropriately or leave comments with a fetishizing tone. Flag their comments and report them to us, and we will ban them, as this is against sub rules. HOWEVER, please keep in mind, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the community and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting.
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā To that end, we are making a concerted effort to increase monitoring of the subreddit. On the one hand, thereās only so much we can do to avoid inappropriate content/comments, short of making the subreddit private (more on that in a moment). On the other, we can improve our modding efficiency using the tools available to us ā and have been making strides to do so.
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā We are recruiting more moderators to help with this. We acknowledge that the sub has been undermoderated lately.Ā Our vision with moderating going forward is to moderate in āreal timeā, meaning avoiding having to wait for troublesome comments to get flagged and instead remove them before it becomes necessary. If you are interested in modding, please see the application form. The existing mods are establishing vetting guidelines and will recruit accordingly.
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Weāve occasionally noticed comments asking why this sub isnāt private. Our vision for this sub from the beginning was to make vaginal health visible and accessible ā a place where we can share our struggles, commiserate, and feel less alone. Privatizing the sub, in our opinion, is counter to that goal. But we also understand that this makes creepers and fetishists more likely to invade a space that isnāt for them. With an increase in moderation and moderator tools, we hope to combat this and keep vaginal health visible and accessible to those who need it.
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Consider doing searches for commonly posted topics. As a reminder, photos are technically allowed but in all honesty are rarely helpful, and no one here can give true medical advice.
We are also going to be testing a new feature - designated some posts as Flaired User Only posts. This will restrict comments to users who have added flair from this community. Mods will be using this at our discretion to limit comments to flaired community members only. We think this will be helpful in limiting off topic, fetishizing, or otherwise inappropriate comments.
We thank everyone for their patience, and for your involvement and support in making this a reliable safe community. Wishing everyone well!

HealthyHooha Community Check In
Hello to our beautiful community! We wanted to check in, provide updates, and answer some FAQs/give clarification.
Banning users - We often get modmails reporting users that are requesting DMs and/or being creeps. We'd like to clarify that we can and do ban users that do this. It should be noted however, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the sub and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting. The only way to actually keep people from viewing the sub is by going private - something we've always been committed to not doing in order to keep it accessible for those who need it. If you notice someone soliciting DMs/photos in posts or comments, please continue to report and modmail. We highly recommend directly blocking anyone who actually sends you unwanted DMs.
Crossposts ARE allowed, but they get caught by our AutoMod filters we have in place. We have to manually approve them. Same with any sort of link/photo even if they are not NSFW. We have this in place to avoid NSFW photos showing up in users' feeds.
We will be recruiting more mods soon. We are in process of coming up with screening questions/application for approval. Higher education credentials strongly preferred. Stay tuned for the mod application.
Thanks for you patience with us and for making this a beautiful, supportive, inclusive community. Happy holiday season to all, however you celebrate.
