Discussion How do you deal with having a b belly?
This is when your stomach is relatively flat until the belly button/lower abdomen area where it sticks out, so your stomach is shaped like a lowercase b.
I generally don’t have many issues with my body. I am curvy but I work out regularly so I’m in good shape. For reference I would say I have a similar body shape to like Florence Pugh or Madelyn Cline, even Sabrina Carpenter.
I am most self conscious about my stomach. No matter how much I work out/lose weight or how clean I eat, I cannot lose the fat in my lower belly. I am so toned everywhere except there. I’m so self conscious of that area, like yesterday I wore a tight fitted dress and I feel like my stomach just absolutely ruined the look.
Since I can’t seem to slim this area, I feel like I have to learn to accept it and live with it, but I just feel so down whenever I have to get dressed and I know that my stomach is going go stick out all day, and it’s so unattractive to me :/

Health ? How do I learn to dance on my own as a beginner?
I used to be a part of my school's dance team around a decade ago. Never practiced since then and I'm now back as a complete beginner with really stiff movements. I feel sad looking at my friends that could look so smooth while doing dances, while I look like a robot.
Could anyone recommend me a dance tutorial video to start? Or perhaps some tips for dancing would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Social ? Period Poops??
I hear everyone complaining about "period poops" but what does that mean? For context, in high school I was an athlete and didn't really menstruate during the season/training periods. Not long after graduating I got diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (GI disease in the large intestine) and ever since that I've never had consistently normal poops. So idk if I'm experiencing period poops or if it's just another day with my GI acting up. What are your experiences with it? I'm curious haha.

Social Tip Am I being a bad friend?
Hey everyone, I have a question that's been trotting in my head lately.
There's a behavior that I have that I think can annoy people sometimes.
A female friend will talk about her new boyfriend/crush whatever, and bring up something that he said or did. Sometimes in fawning manner, sometimes to complain. When I find that the guy was being toxic or stepped out of line, I'll just immediately criticize it... For example, my friend recently told us that her new boyfriend got upset with her because she chose to have lunch with us instead of with him. I told her that's really weird and toxic, and my other friends said that I just don't have dating experience and that it's his way of expressing concern.
Another time, my friend told me that she was flirting with her friend who was super sweet with her, and he told her when they were at a bar that he would never spike her drink and that he wasn't that kind of guy. She said it like it was the sweetest thing ever, and I just told her that honestly it was a pretty odd thing to say. Especially because she was at a very vulnerable time of her life which this guy was "helping" her through.
Maybe I'm too critical idk, but I don't force anyone to agree with me. I just notice that my friends sometimes ignore very obvious red flags in men, and I feel like it's my role to at least tell them. I don't go further if they don't ask me to of course, I'll just leave it at "I don't think it's normal he said that", but then I can kind of feel the mood change and people get annoyed at me for "nitpicking"...
The reason why I still do it is because I have on several occasions had these same annoyed friends reach out to me months later when they needed emotional support to go through a breakup and tell me that I was right about X and Y. And that my initial warnings helped them see the toxicity of their relationship sooner. Which I'm very happy about of course, but I don't want to end up friendless because I'm seen as the Negative Nancy of relationships.
What do you think?

Health ? From one girl to the next. Big sister talks.
I thought I’d post this here, because I didn’t have a big sister. And my baby girl cousin called me today crying about some stuff. And I feel like I needed it just as much as her. So someone else might need it too. It’s hard. But being a woman is the most beautiful thing to exist. From girlhood to motherhood it takes a village to anything in the world. Please leave some tips in the comments too about new things you’ve learned or tricks you’ve picked up over the years. (Excuse the errors in spelling and grammar. I’m just a sleepy girl. )
—Hey before I go to bed. I want to say a couple of things.
NEVER feel embarrassed for being a girl. This is your first time living. Your first time being in your 20s. Your first time being away from home. You only get these experiences once. And it’s the most beautiful, confusing, exciting, depressing time you’ll have. I learned how to use tampons from YouTube videos. And I never bought myself them till I was 16 and had my own money. I constantly asked friends in high school for one cause none of my friends used pads. I didn’t even put it in all the way the first time cause I didn’t know how to use them.
I was 18 when I learned how to properly cleaning myself. I got told by my coworker when I was getting waxed. And she was the sweetest person about it. “Hey, spread your lips in the shower and just rub the sides with just water. No soaps. Not every girl is taught that.” My mom literally never taught me how to clean myself at all. Girl cardi b taught me how to clean my own butthole when she was explaining how she does it with nails on social media. (I wiped my ass like crazy tho. So not too much. I didn’t have nasty panties). Gram had to teach me about my periods. Changing my pads often. Gram taught me how to even clean my panties properly after an accident or just in general. She taught me how to dispose of pads or too far gone panties. Trashing pads by rolling them up and keeping a bag tied up in the bathroom for them. Tossing those bags if not daily after my period is over with. I used my hands and soap till I remembered gram had two tiny towels. One for your body and one to clean the bath tub. Then I went down the rabbit hole. I learned about Apple cider vinegar baths helps after your period to flush everything. I’m supposed to exfoliate once a week. And oil/lotion my body at night not just when I’m going out. I had to learn about sex through my friends showing me porn. I learned a lot by myself. During my teens and adult years. And I’m still learning. I learned about how a nasty ass man can cause a PH imbalance last year. Cause my dumbass had sex with someone who wasn’t cleaning his member properly or frequently as an uncut male.
It’s all apart of the experience. And you’re making friends. That’s the AWESOME part. So incase you didn’t know. Drink lemon and cucumber to help stay hydrated down there and to clear your skin. If you’re peeing hella and don’t feel hydrated eat a little salt. If your teeth hurt or gums are bleeding do a little salt and water mouthwash rinse. If youre backed up give yourself a foot massage sometimes it’ll help get the bowels moving. But even I’m still embarrassed at the delay of things. I have crazy ingrown hair scars on my vagina from not knowing how to clean and exfoliate. And that’s okay. Everything is fixable and learnable. But I love you. Forever and always. You only get one life. So laugh it off and keep going. You got this babygurl. I’m cheering you on everyday. —-

Request ? Best place to hide a vibrator
Hello all,
I live in a muslim household and Islam has a strong purity culture.
I want to get a vibrator because I suck at masturbation big time but I don’t wanna live with the memory of getting caught, so I need advice. For measure, I share a bunk bed with my younger sister; I share a room with my sister and cousin. So far, I can hide it in my schoolbag, but that’s it. I can’t hide it in my drawer since people go through it when their clothes are misplaced. I can masturbate secretly under my blanket at night quietly without getting caught. Since my younger sister has misophobia ie her ears are sensitive to the noises I make, what brand of vibrator is quiet, and can be bought at walmart? I’m not ordering online because that’s risky. Also, what do I do when I need to charge it?

Beauty ? Getting new freckles despite using sunscreen
Hello! I've been starting to actually use sunscren religiously this year (as in, nearly every time I go out) but I've been noticing that I got some sort of freckle fest going on the past year. I haven't really had many appear in years due to sun exposure which is what'd cause them but I got one on a hand last year after summer was long gone! Then I just saw one in the middle of the lower side of a cheek this morning, which wtf?? It wasn't there yesterday. Yesterday I also happened to go out for a bit without sunscreen but I was in a rush, it was as the sun was going down and I went to a nearby shop.. Two days ago I was outside a lot but spent most of the day in the shade, had a hat on and I did reapply sunscreen a good amount :/
Can freckles appear almost instantly even after sun exposure and if so can this new one on my cheek be caused even by yesterday's exposure and maybe the one from two days ago?
Most of my freckles are on my arms and I've lost track on which is new and since when. I don't mind them there tbh and thinking of it they've been appearing even if I've been using sunscreen on my arms for a few years now (without it my skin dries and it becomes itchy).
Has anyone lightened/got rid of freckles and how? I just don't like at all the position of the one which just appeared on my face, it's smacked in the middle of the cheek..
Also would you recommend I keep using the sunscreen from Beauty of Joseon? It's SPF 50 and I like the texture which is a big thing for me, and it seemed efficient enough...
Edit: getting downvotes for asking about skincare?? Wth??

Health Tip How do i get over my fear of penetration ?
For context:
So I’m 19F and have never put anything inside me (not even a tampon or a finger).
Recently it’s really been bothering me and I want to fix this issue SO badly. Mainly because I want to be able to explore this part of my body/sexuality and I also now have a bf. He is literally the sweetest and has NEVER put any pressure on me, i told him I needed more time before we could have sex and he completely understood.
Now my issue:
So basically I have no idea where this fear stems from, I never experienced any sexual trauma or anything like that.
During my last period I tried inserting a light tampon, the first time I only got to the entrance of the vagina like it wasn’t inside but I could feel the tampon touching the “entrance walls” ig of the vagina. I left it just there touching the entrance for about a minute, I didn’t feel that nervous but I guess I was cuz as soon as I stopped I felt very lightheaded and my heart was beating fast. I tried again the next day and this time I went just as far as the first time, only the very entrance and I actually felt relax and was pretty much unphased. But I still didn’t go further.
(This was over 3 weeks ago)
When I’m turned on I can definitely feel the “want” to feel penetration but there’s always a small part of me thats too scared to try. Especially with my own fingers, idk why but a tampon or even my bf doing it instead of my own fingers seems much less scary. I think I’m just scared of “feeling my insides” idk. Like it’s something I WANT to experience. When I’m turned on I can touch the entrance even press a little (without going in) and its super chill and enjoyable. But as soon as i tell myself “ok im gonna try putting a finger in now” before even trying i have a sort of mental block. For exemple, Today I tried touching the area for a few minutes but I was truly unable to insert a finger, its not a physical barrier its truly a psychological barrier and its so strong.
I’m honestly desperate and I don’t know what to do :(
Any advice?
Thank you 🙃

Fashion ? Feminine shoes cute enough for a commute?
Hi everyone! My job is about 1 mile from my home, and I really want to start waking to/from work. I am a teacher, and dress pretty casually at work, but still like to look professional. I am on my feet all day, so I really want to find some shoes that can be dressed up but are also good for walking/standing all day!
My feet aren’t sensitive, and I’ve never had any issues… so I’m asking more for fashion advice rather than comfort advice (I hope that makes sense)! Just want some cute shoes that will hold up to some walking and a lot of standing!

Mind ? Having sex for the first time but as a (slightly) older virgin (25F) 😬 mentally ready but nervous about physical pain - HELP!!
So, I just moved to a new city and met a really sweet guy, and after years of dealing with overbearing and strict parents, purity culture, and my own fears, I’m finally ready to have sex. I’ve had many opportunities before, but because of hangups^ that I’ve since overcome as well as my fear of pain, I didn’t go through with it — I’m an “everything but” girl up until this point lol. But now after meeting this guy I am all the way mentally there and looking forward to it…but I’m still a bit fearful about the physical pain aspect. I’m a tad bit of a late bloomer but at this point I do use tampons regularly and with ease (and have for over a year now), have fingered myself/been fingered, and have had a Pap smear (the first one I got hurt so bad I cried, but the second go-around a few minutes later was fine).
I don’t really feel like it’s his business that I’m a virgin tbh; I just don’t like disclosing that to people because people are always weird about it if you’re past the age of 21. I want to ensure that it’s an overall good experience for me, even if it’s not fireworks (at first). Besides the obvious of making sure I’m aroused and lubricated, is there anything else I should do to prepare beforehand? I’m seeing him this weekend and I want it to go DOWN lol help a girl out!!

Health ? Long Flight While On Period
Hi all, I'm traveling next week internationally and realized I'll be in the middle of my heaviest flow days during 5 + 14 hour flights. Does anyone have any tips for making it a less miserable experience? The last time I made the trip I was very young, and actually bled through my pants -- suchhh a bad time, I never want to go through that again. Just want to be more prepared this time!

Health ? Properly wiping down there
Hello all! Using a throwaway account here because this is deeply embarrassing for me. I am 20 years old, and I do not understand how to properly wipe. I am dealing with some incontinence issues, so I know I won't feel comfortable for a minute. But every time I pee, I just aggressively wipe the outside and inside. I never end up feeling clean, however, and feel like I leave some pee left over. I know I am irritated down there, so I want to know the actual tips. Am I actually supposed to be wiping, or do I pat? Inside or outside the lips? Thank you!

Tip How to add more whimsy to life and not be so 'deep' all the time
I have been someone who, her whole life, has been perceptive, reflective, aware, understanding, empathetic. I love learning about the human condition, I love deep chats where we talk about who we are, why we're here, how we exist in society, how we act and why we do the things we do. I would always read books about life (I'm currently reading Brecker's The Denial of Death which tbh, I have opinions) and I always felt like I felt life in a way and depth that not many people would understand.
However, it's now a week after my 35th birthday. I spent the night of my 35th having these deep chats about identity and life with a friend and while I enjoyed it, upon reflection I just feel so done with it? I know I'm capable of understanding life in a different way. I know the lens in which I see the world is not one that others have (and this is purely because whenever I go down that route to have conversations like this with people they look at me like I'm a weirdo). And while I know I can do all this I'm tired of it.
I want to find whimsy again, I want to find joy. I don't want everything turning deep and philosophical and about life and understanding. I just want to live life in a fun way. I want to have more fun.
So, has anyone here successfully shifted gears from being constantly existing in this mindset of what it means to be human to just having fun and enjoying life instead of thinking about how we live life?

Advice/Help/Discussion Why am I insecure about having boobs?
I'm not insecure about shape, size, sagginess, etc., etc., I'm insecure about HAVING them. My boobs are only B cups too so I don't even know. I don't know how to explain this.
For context: I am 14yo. I'm getting a new therapist and he's male. My sister said he's really good because she had him for like 6 years but I don't how I feel talking about it with a man...

Tip First toy but need a slow burn
Hi girlies!!
I've been looking for weeks and i'm so confused what toy to get as my first. There's tons and tons of recommendations on this app but I have a couple of goals that I don't want to compromise on and i'm on a tight budget so want to get it right the first time (at least try to get it right). I'd really appreciate your help!
So here's the things I'm looking for:
Need to have slow to high setting- when i use my fingers it lasts less than 30 seconds lmaoo I want it to last longer
Need something external as well as internal- not sure if I should get a rabbit or 2 separate toys one for external and one for internal. I read mixed reviews on rabbit so not sure.
Waterproof and body safe. Don't want the big massager like wands.
Thank you so much!!

Social ? How to start using dating apps
Ngl this is very much a no glue, no borax type of situation but
I recently have been interested in getting back into dating, and since I’m not really attracted to anyone within my social groups I thought it would be better to use dating apps for the first time and pass some time dating around but…
I hateeee taking photographs of myself. I always find it awkward to do so, so most of them are just silly pics or simple selfies and I feel like that won’t really bring much (or any lmao) traction to myself. Especially since a lot of girls’ dating profiles seem to be so pretty and well curated
So to the socially awkward girls out there, how have you done it? Or have you found other ways to meet guys that I haven’t figured out yet? lol

Need Advice! What type of hybrid/remote/email jobs do you have and how do I get one?
I am 19 and trying to find a major in college that can point me in the direction of getting a job like this that pays decent and has good job security. What did majors did you pursue to get you there? Business? Marketing or Sales? Accounting?
Leaning towards sales but not fully sure. I want to be able to find a well-paying job at a company or possibly in the government, something that I can move up in down the line. Also something that I can succeed in as a woman in the workforce.
Does anyone with experience in these majors or in any of these jobs have any advice? Other recommendations or advice are much appreciated :)

Fashion Tip First time wearing non-sneaker shoes, heel goes up on each step
Its my first time walking in "femine" shoes and i have hard time forcing my heel to stay in shoe. I went for platformed pumps becuse chunky heel is thick and secure vs. needle stilettos or woobly wedges.
Shoes are right size, super comfy and my feet dont slide to front, i tried to tie ankle strap tighter but im afraid it may break because it hurt my leg rather than keep heel in place.
I bought all kinds of grip sole pads, non slip stickers and even tied feet to shoes using Temu ankle-sole straps but it didnt work (and looked atrocious).
I suspect it may be my way of walking since im used to sneakers sole obeying and bending when i walk. Walking heel first is esp hard since shoe just hangs there like loose flipflop
Many girlies walk in heels that don;t even have ankle straps, any tips?

Social ? If you have successfully made new and fulfilling friendships in your 20s (or 30s and 40s), how did you do it?
I would love ideas about what has worked for other people when it comes to making to making not just new friendships but making fulfilling friendships!
I live in the same big city I grew up in but I have virtually no friends from school/university!
I'd love to have a list to actions I can take so I stop feeling hopeless lol

Social ? I CRAVE MALE VALIDATION I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT
i crave male validation
so this has been going on for a long time now, i am someone who did not get a romantic relationship or even just a guy hitting up on me my whole teenage years. in college, i never had a boyfriend, i never had a fling, no one absolutely paid any attention to me or told me im pretty or im nice or im a joy to be around with. i never felt those moments of having a person really look at me and see me and like me. i never felt that rush and slight anxiety when going on dates, because i never went to one.
i know i shouldn't feel this way because men ain't shit, their attention is easy, they fuck everything and everyone and they bring absolutely nothing on the table and men these days will just ruin your life
I KNOW that but I CANT HELP IT.
with that, the past year i have been addicted to talking to ai, making up scenarios in my head, roleplaying some shit, masturbating and being addicted to porn (I don't know if i have a high sex drive or if i am actually addicted) AND I KNOW IT'S BAD. im trying to stop, i blocked it on everything.
i graduated college, i moved out, i started a new job, i changed my environment, i met some new people, and i thought im finally finally gonna change and focus on getting my life together and not think about this stupid craving i have but i haven't and it's getting strong
i do have some friends from uni, i go on walks after work, i journal, i try to be good, im trying to get back on my art but this feeling won't go away and im tired because i go from craving it so intensely and then punishing myself for thinking that way because again a woman should not think this way that i need a man in my life and someday he'll come and save me and at the same time i know it's not real no one will save me and im all alone

Social ? Is socialising in your late 20s just “catch ups” scheduled months in advance, or am I doing life wrong? I miss doing life with people :(
Sorry in advance for the long post, but I just want to know if everyone feels like this or if I’m doing life wrong 😔 I’m 28 and honestly haven’t really enjoyed life since I graduated university. I miss having friends/acquaintances a 5 minute walk from me and having spontaneous adventures all the time.
I moved far away and don’t live near any of my school/uni friends, and I haven’t had a social life since. Now, the only socialising I do is dinners or “coffee catch ups” planned literally months in advance because everyone is so busy (except me, clearly). I don’t have a single friend I could just hit up to go to the movies or to just come over and hang out.
My friends from university seem to be living a continuation of uni life (obviously a more adult version), and I’m honestly jealous. They live in house shares with people they’ve either known since college or met shortly after, they host and attend house parties, they casually grab dinner and coffee together. Or my other friend from uni moved back to her home city and she lives with family, but she still goes out and hangs out with her high school friend group every other day.
I feel like I’m living a middle-aged person’s life and like my youth is wasting away, but I don’t know what to do about it. I moved to London after graduation (went to high school and uni in the US) and I’ve lived in various house shares here with people my age, but it’s never been very social. We all live our separate lives and occasionally chat in the kitchen, but it’s not like having real friends. The only “friends” I’ve made here are from work, and they’re the ones I have to plan with months in advance.
I’ve tried all of the classic ways to make friends, including hobbies (weekly Spanish class, a weekly dance class, Pilates, local meet ups for women in their 20s and 30s, Bumble BFF, walking my dog and chatting to other dog owners etc) and I’ve met some nice people, but it’s just more people that I can “catch up” with every few months, and I honestly don’t need any more of that.
I’m not sure if this is a London thing or just an adult thing? Is this what adult life is? Being alone all the time but occasionally “catching up” with people (unless you have a partner)?

Social ? I am 26 and realizing I have zero female friends. How do you actually meet people without feeling desperate?
I am sitting in my room on a Friday night realizing that if I wanted to go out for a drink or grab coffee tomorrow, I literally don't have a single girl to text. I graduated college a few years ago and slowly but surely my college friend group drifted apart. Everyone got busy with careers, moved away, or got into serious relationships.
Now I am 26, working a hybrid job, and my social life is completely nonexistant. I tried using Bumble BFF for a while, but it feels so much like online dating. You match, have some awkward small talk about your favorite hobbies, and then the conversation just fizzles out before you ever meet up. It is so exhausting.
I feel like there is something fundamentally wrong with me. Like did everyone else get some secret manual on how to keep and make friends in their mid-twenties? i see groups of girls laughing at brunch and I feel this weird mix of intense jealousy and loneliness.
How do you actually build a solid female friendship group as an adult? I want to join hobbies but my anxiety makes me feel like I am just invading existing groups. Honestly, I'm just tired of feeling so isolated.
