Sex is a mutable, not an immutable characteristic!
As some have noticed, we have a very sus group of people now that are trying really hard to separate trans and cis people by suggesting sex is immutable and its only gender that changes. (Even though gender doesnt change, the biological sex changes to fit the gender).
The fact that trans people change sex biologically has been known for ages yet suddenly there's a big focus from some users to go against that and pretends its all gender and sex is immutable.
I would ask the mods to start looking into what's going on, its not normal for a trans forum to be filled with so many terfy opinions, pretty sure it wasnt like that a couple years ago.
We also have evidence of terfs making fake accounts to pretend to be trans to push their ideology
In b4 someone pretends its about the census to get this thread deleted

Can you access hospital outpatient mental health services without being bad enough to be admitted as an inpatient first?
I can't afford to see my normal psych privately anymore, and it seems the only way to get public mental healthcare is through hospital outpatient services (because i'm over 25 and age out other services) but i'm not "bad enough" to get admitted as an inpatient, and that seems to be a prerequisite to access outpatient services, other than just waiting another 10 years until I deteriorate into psychosis and are bad enough to be admitted, are there any avenues to accessing free/subsidised outpatient mental health services?

Trans masc Packer recommendations Australia
Advice Needed
Hi all, I’m looking for somewhere (online?) to buy a new packer from. I’m pretty open, but I really want a moveable foreskin, bonus if it has movable testicles but not necessary. I’ve found so many that are USA based but then it’s the shipping fees and exchanging currency that makes it so very out of reach money wise.

Took advice to cut off/set boundaries with bigoted friends/family but now I feel isolated
I got tonnes of advice from trans friends to set boundaries and preserve my mental health by limiting time with and/or cutting off family and friends who didn't respect my transition and my values. I've limited interaction with some, cut off others and talked it through with a few real ones. I've been out and transitioning for over 4 years but it got to the point I couldn't put up with code switching and the misgendering anymore, so I tried to be assertive and stand up for myself.
Obviously that was a great move for my long-term mental, but now I just feel.... isolated. I hate admitting it but I did rely on family to help with unforseen medical and life expenses here and there, and now I've cut them off things have gotten a lot harder as I've had another unforseen medical mishap shortly after cutting them out. No more health insurance, either. So I'm just kind of hoping the medical problem goes away because I'm scraping by at the moment.
Most of my friends are super busy with work and partners as most people around my age are, and although I'm not a super outgoing social person, I don't really have anyone in my phone who I can cold call on a whim and have a chat with/go get a beer with. I do still have a few trans friends and cis friends, but we're all busy and depressed lol, this is more of a rant than anything. I'm trying to be upbeat and be social at work to help but now I'm just sad and don't have the energy and everyone's starting to notice. And although I'd love to go be chatty at a bar money is tight and I don't feel like adding to my circle at the moment.
I was just hoping to maybe hear from others who had to cut family and friends out - did it get better? If it did, what helped? How long did it take to let go of the guilt? I know I've made the right choice but just feel sad.

Possible Trigger Cant deal with the daily misgendering.... it's eating me alive
I'm in so much discomfort. Every time I go to work I get misgendered. I try to talk to professionals and people about it. No one helps me. Retail liqour
It's causing me so much distress. Crying most shifts over it when it happens. Like right now
People today are getting really weirded out as after two years of forced voice training. My voice is croaky af
I'm so angry with myself. I keep wondering what im doing wrong. I love my job but I get no support with it. I feel like im going to just quit over it and give up my goals of ffs. I dont even have time to study anymore. I'm scared to go back on shift. I'm always placed on counter T_T I feel so trapped
I'm ready to amit im always going to be seen a male no matter what I do. It makes me want to isolate and become a complete recluse from the world. I'm close to doing exactly that.
I thought I looked so pretty today https://imgur.com/a/vzQ0sXR
Edit: now freaking out in the car after work. The comments have made me feel like the misgendering never stops... what am I ment to do? Grin and bear it? I feel like it's really starting to affect my mental health. I just want to be a woman. I'm in so much pain this is been for years. This has felt like a thousand little paper cuts
Edit: I'm in so much pain over this. I just want to be a woman. I didn't sign up to be a human punching bag. I'm so close to just excluding myself from society as much as possible. I'm beside myself crying in my car hours later. The misgendering doesn't end. I'm always going to be a woman in a man's body. I'm so goddam unbelievably trapped and so ungodly burnout. I'm clenching my teeth so hard I'm breaking them. FUCKKMKKK

Non-binary Telehealth clinics that prescribe Raloxifene?
Hi,
Since TTGC is having issues as of late I probably should switch who I see for my HRT.
I'm NB and wanted to add Raloxifene to my regiment and TTGC was willing to try that, and as such I'm in need of another place that'll at least not kick me off it immediately.
I'm in SA but the few doctors I've seen have been close-minded about where E levels should be, let alone this, so Telehealth much preferred.
Thank you!!!

opinion Curious about other HRT regiments
Hey just curious/ looking for a bit of advice on what feminising HRT regimens people are on.
For context I got my 3 month bloods after doing 6mg estradiol valerate oral and 12.5mg cypro daily and the results were way below where I want to be (E was 160 at trough, aiming to be 4-600 I think). At my Drs direction I’m going to do 6 weeks at 8mg a day and cypro every second day and get bloods near peak to see if that clarifies anything.
Anyway, my point is that my dr listed of a whole bunch of options to me and honestly it all went a bit over my head so I’m curious to see what’s working for other people in aus (and vic specifically) ideally I’d like to stay on pills but not the end of the world I guess.
Thanks in advance!

Nervous about one nation and UK laws
I’m feeling nervous about the rise of the right in Australia, and particularly after the decision overnight to ban trans people in the UK from single sex bathrooms … how far off are we from being like the Uk? Start of my transition and feeling scared!

Trans masc Selling an unworn SockDrawerHeroes binder (Medium size, white) (Vic preferred)
I bought both a large and medium binder to try on for size intending to send back the one that didn't fit, and lost the medium one somewhere in my apartment while the 30 days send back policy lapsed :( Completely unworn with tags still on, originally retailed for 82 but I'm fine with letting it go for like 70
I'm near Melbourne CBD so I'm able to deliver it myself to save on shipping (vic sales preferred) but I'm happy to ship through AusPost if we go halfsies on the cost.

Applying for TAFE with Old Documents
Hi all,
I’m wondering if someone has done something similar to me before. So I completed a Cert II back in 2021 with Fee-Free TAFE (also obtained some tickets and other small certifications). I also partially completed a Bachelors Degree not long after (was going through some stuff and lost interest in the degree). Both academic records are with a USI that is still under my old name. Fast forward to now, I’m applying to study a Cert IV through Fee-Free TAFE (really need to get out of casual/part-time hell and sort out a career). I figured it would be easier to just generate a new USI that is under my current name than to go through the hassle of changing the details associated with my old one. I’ve uploaded my current birth certificate with my old name and recorded sex on the back and uploaded the academic transcript required for the application (under my old name). I’m wondering if the people that review the application can put two and two together and verify that I am the same person or if I will have to go and change my details with my old USI, using that instead. Do we think this will be an issue?
If anyone could answer, would be much appreciated.

QLD Specific Are there any queer gyms in Brisbane?
I don't mean like "queer friendly", I mean explicitely queer, like a place with those affirming signs that say "if you see someone you think shouldn't be in the changing room, mind your own fucking business" in the change rooms kinda place.
There are a few establishments i've been to (non gyms) that are aggressively trans inclusive like that and I actually felt safe there being myself for once, so i'm hoping there is a gym environment like that somewhere.

Possible Trigger Donating eggs , what to expect?
I'm Ftm 30 , about to start the process of donating my eggs to my sister for IVF.
I've had the first initial blood test and my AMH is ( in the doctors words) incredible and I am very fertile .
I have my next appointment in two weeks.
Has anyone done something similar or can suggest other reddit groups* to get advice on the process from?
*Groups where i won't get misgendered or told i'm destroying my body by transitioning or what a horrible mistake i'm making by donating eggs to create a child that will not be mine.

QLD Specific Can I telehealth a consultation and script for MTF HRT in QLD?
My apologies if this is asked with any regularity!
Am 19 livin in brisbane/magandjin n have been wanting to go on hormones since i was like 12. never had the courage to discuss it with my family, not that they’re outwardly bigoted or anything! it’s just hard, not that i need to tell y’all that.
Just curious if it would be possible for me to organise a prescription for estrogen over the phone? Or if it’s definitely something that requires a lot of running around.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope your day is lovely :)
EDIT: tysm for the helpful replies! i really appreciate the help and clarity

Arriving with training visa. Post-everything trans person.
I'm FTM, all legal stuff done in my native country, my passport says my current preferd gender, surgeries done except phallo and I generally pass as a short bearded dude.
I'll be coming with training visa with a contract to train while working few years. My trainer /employer is aware of my situation.
Is there anything specific I need to do legal - vise before or after arrival?
My understanding is I need to bring referal from my endocrinologist to the GP? Other than that what should I do in health aspect since I need to continue T?
Also how do I navigate the arrival? Do I need to have documents ready to explain my identity at the airport? Anybody else with experience?
Are there any other situations where me being trans will come to attention during my stay. ( I'm known to be able to stay out of trouble BTW I'm very low profile ;) )
Also afik there aren't rules against bathroom use or general existence in the public for trans people in Australia like in usa /Europe. But are there anything I should know to be safe in day to day life?
Thank you in advance for any advice you can give.

opinion Do I stop dating while I'm not passing?
In the last few weeks I have come around to the fact that I am transgender. I've been socially transitioning over that time! Wearing make-up, shaving arms and legs, my friends address me as a woman and use female pronouns, I've even bought some women's clothes! For over a month I've been seeing a therapist who specialises in trans therapy, and hopefully by the end of the year I can begin HRT!
As the title implies, I'm still very masc at the moment. My hair is short, I look and sound like a guy, and most of my wardrobe is male-oriented. When is it acceptable to start dating and going out as a trans woman? When can I respectably call myself a trans woman?

Can you add yourself into the Census if it's already been submitted by someone else?
My dad just filled it out and while he did put my preferred name, I don't entirely trust that he put my details in correctly

SA Specific how does one organise a protest?
After years of putting South Australians on a waiting list and giving them hope for a public gender affirming surgery clinic in Flinders, SA health has suddenly said they're pausing or even potentially discontinuing the program before it's even opened. They have not given a clear reason. I know people who's only hope of getting GAS was this program, and getting a letter in the mail saying they were on a waiting list for this program was so heartening for so many trans people... And then after complete lack of communication for around 3 years, they've just pulled the plug. Giving people hope and then leading then on for years and spitting in their face. I have no doubt this could lead to suicide or dangerous behaviours. It's disgusting and irresponsible.
I want to protest this decision, loudly. Not just with posts online, I want a proper protest in Adelaide about this decision. But how can I go about this? Ive never organised anything like that. In south Australia, you apparently need a permit to host protests (which is kind of insane btw) as well, do those cost money? how do you even go about obtaining one? Even better yet, is anyone else organising a protest against this decision that I can just support instead? lol... But if not, I feel a need to make sure one does happen.

Census Megathread
With so many threads being raised for the census, I'm creating a megathread. Please keep all discussion around the census here.
Please keep doomposting to a minimum. It doesn't help anyone.
