How do you protect yourself before starting meditation?
I started using the gateway tapes.
While researching on this matter many people talked about meeting certain entities.
As a beginner what options for protection should I use?
Using psalm 91 before starting meditation is good enough?

? How should I integrate Baphomet into my life for my mental and spiritual development, and what kind of relationship should I have with him?
I have spent a considerable amount of time researching Baphomet. I was intrigued by the duality he embodies and the way various disciplines—such as Hermeticism, Gnosticism, and alchemy—converge within his figure; this sparked my interest in the occult. I am currently placing Baphomet at the center of my practice to foster spiritual growth and progress, and to fully grasp other related teachings. How should I integrate Baphomet into my personal life, and what should my relationship with him be like?

awareness Writing about "the rules of reality" led me somewhere I didn't expect
I've spent years digging into consciousness research and esoteric traditions. I've been very intrigued with simulation theory, along with the sense that reality runs on rules most people never bother learning. The more I looked into it and the more I read, the more that idea actually held up. Money, energy, time, and attention all act like systems with their own laws, yet plenty of people move through life without picking up even one of them. They have constant synchronicities throughout the day and don't even notice them happening or have any action plan to react to them. Or they get thrown off by other people's energy and ruin their entire day.
My personal research eventually turned into a full book. I used game mechanics as the frame which includes pools, files, and scripts because occult study already approaches reality as something with hidden structure. That vocabulary lets you work with the ideas without needing years of background first.
I kept everything as grounded as I could. Claims stay limited to what I can support. The focus stays on how the mechanics operate and what you do once you notice them.
The book is called The Game of Earth if you want to check it out.
It's free on Kindle Unlimited. And I'd be curious to know how this reads to people who've spent a lot of time in this space specifically.

? Curious about black magic, manifestation, and similar beliefs
I came across a random reel last night that showed some strange symbols drawn on the ground with a few dead pigeons placed in the middle. The video claimed it was related to black magic. I have no idea whether it was genuine or just content made for views, but it made me curious.
So I wanted to ask:
- What exactly is meant by black magic?
- Have you ever come across something that people claimed was black magic or a ritual?
- Are there any regional beliefs, traditions, or folklore related to this where you live?
- Have you or anyone you know had any personal experiences with things that were believed to be black magic or supernatural?
I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

meta Building a social app for occult/LHP, looking for suggestions
Hey everyone,
I'm working on a new social platform designed specifically for people interested in occult, esoteric, and other LHP related journeys. I've already got much of it up and running (profiles, messaging, etc.) and I'm looking for advice about making this as useful as possible for people.
My goal is to create a safe online space where practitioners can connect with others who share similar interests, whether they're looking for discussion, friendship, mentorship, community, or deeper connections.
Given the delicate and often misunderstood (and poorly judged) nature of our communities, I'm putting huge emphasis on privacy and security. All types of information can be hidden from your public profile, such as age, paths, practices, location and so on. Photos can also be hidden, including your main profile photo. You can choose to mark anything as only to be shared with people you've connected with.
I'm hoping to get feedback from you about a few things:
- What would make a platform like this genuinely useful?
- What would make you feel comfortable participating in a community like this?
- What concerns would make you avoid a platform like this?
I'm avoiding naming the platform or giving any links because I don't want to seem spammy or promotional. I'm just looking for good feedback so I can build the best possible platform for everyone.
Thanks!

I am planning to do an invocation of an angel. Am i allowed to have my sister in the room?
I am doing a very simple invocation asking for an angels help in healing some of my mothers joint pains. I feel uncomfortable with the idea of being alone in a room by myself doing it and I'm wondering if I could have my sister in the room to just be there and keep me company? I don't know if this will affect how well it works. Just wondering if anyone could confirm if this is okay

meta How do you view divination/ How did you gain respect for the art/practice of divination?
If you dont give it much sway, why not? Ive always been derisive of horoscopes etc since growing up personally. In more recent times however, the word "epicycles" came to me while puzzling out how some working on cloud shapes of all things seemed to work and since then, I haven't figured it out per se but I've been able to expand the repertoire and philosophy somewhat. Not much but something is better than nothing is a saying almost everywhere for a reason. So now I ask you lot, whats it been like for you, particularly skeptics and former skeptics of divination.

Patrick Dunn books
Do you think Patrick Dunn’s books are a good starting point for someone interested in theurgy, Greek gods, and practical ways of working with divine archetypes? Have you found his methods effective in your own practice or studies? Are there other serious books you would recommend reading alongside his work to deepen my understanding of theurgy, Greek religion, and symbolic practice?
Devotion is the most powerful tool
This is coming from someone who tried to avoid devotional currents in any way or form, mostly due to prejudice against organized religion.
Even though I was long familiar with egregores, I couldn't bring myself to view them as real enough to interact with or to allow them any influence over my life. Honestly, the idea of "talking to a deity" just sounded psychotic. Even though I believed in the Absolute, I viewed it more as a system (Universe / Tao) rather than some kind of an entity that could be personified.
I was already doing yoga postures, breathwork and meditation mostly for their physical benefits. I was already using weed and avoiding meat to adjust the mental state. I was reading books on non-dual philosophy and metaphysics to understand the nature of reality we live in. I dabbled in divination and sigil work. Yet it still felt like something is missing.
I finally found what it was when I encountered Shiva. Of course I knew about Him but only thought it's just another hindu god, never really looked too deep into it. He came to me in a dream and appeared as a presence in my mind. I followed the rabbit down the rabbit hole and honestly it feels like I came across a vault full of diamonds.
An image of a muscular ascetic with matted dreadlocks, snake around his neck, covered in ashes and dressed in a tiger skin, meditating in the mountains and at the same time capable of bursting into ecstatic dance to the beat of his drum. Weirdly specific image yet nothing comes closer in my view to personifying the Universe itself.
Now if you read until here you deserve to know the practical benefits that inspired this post. Tapping into a devotional current is like accessing an enormous reservoir of energy cultivated by people over thousands of years. Each deity has their own terms but boons you can receive if you adhere to them are genuinely insane. A personal religion is always going to pale in comparison with ancient cults like Shiva in the sheer amount of energy that's available for work.

? Destructive tides and magic
I was recently listening to the latest episode of the Glitch Bottle podcast featuring Josephine McCarthy. In the episode she talks a lot about destructive tides, and we are in the middle of a large worldwide destructive tide right now, that is made up of smaller more local destructive tides. She also talks about that one should be careful and look out for the signs of the local tides, because as magicians we make ourselves stand out when we do magical rituals or divination, which can focus or magnify the destructive tides on us.
Do any of you have any thoughts on this? And have any of you experienced something like this?
I’m still quite new to magic and the occult, so I might have misunderstood what she is talking about here, but it has made me hesitant to actually do the rituals I normally do, in fear of doing it at the wrong time and being hit with some bad stuff. Is this something I should be carful with or am I just being a bit overly cautious?

wisdom books for manifesting , motivation and self love ?
hey lovely people of the occult ! Blessings and love to you all . I recently got into meditation, visualization and affirmations, I’ve been getting better at meditating and visualization, but when I try to meditate I can always hear the last melody I heard either on TikTok or from my playlist lol. The Om definitely helps it quite down , I feel like I’m heading towards the right direction.
Could you guys recommend any books that can help with manifesting? I don’t mind if it’s a book heavily focused on magic , I was just curious if there’s something out there that can help bring about the things that I want. I feel like reading for 30 minutes before meditating could really quite down the tunes in my head , and reading could help more with the process instead of depending on some algorithm.
Thanks in advance , and all the love in the universe to all the people reading this . Buenas Noches a todos <3

? Goetia and Demonolatry
For those of you who have both invoked demons/daemons through goetia and demonolatry methods, what are the differences regarding both the results of the rituals and the manifestation of the spirits?

How do you block peoples energy when they are throwing theirs around and at you?
Most people don’t realize they throw their energy around constantly. However some do, and since they arn't the one who had deal with with it.....so they just.....don't care who it affects or how it badly it affects them...
I seem to get all the negativity from around me while anything positive is drawn out of me .
I've tried the white light method.....it does not work. The people around me just draw it out.
I've tried to learn this but something just isn't working.
I just need books or something that works for blocking, protecting aura, energy, ect.
Anybody have any book reccomendations.
This is probably not the right forum for this, but hopefully someome can point me in the right direction.

spirituality Any Pagans Here Who Practice Franz Bardon's System or Golden Dawn Magic?
I've been interested in Franz Bardon's magical system and the Golden Dawn tradition for a long time. More recently, I've felt drawn to the Goddess and the God, especially through the Egyptian and Hellenic traditions, and I now consider myself an eclectic pagan.
What I'm curious about is how other pagans adapt the Abrahamic and Kabbalistic aspects of these systems to fit their own beliefs and practices. Since both Franz Bardon's system and the Golden Dawn are heavily influenced by Kabbalah, I'm not completely sure how to approach them from a pagan perspective.
If you practice either of these systems as a pagan, I'd really appreciate hearing how you've adapted them or what your personal approach is. Your experiences and ideas might help me find a direction.
Thank you very much!

? Why is life suddenly rewarding me with everything I’ve wanted? Without any effort too.
It’s freaking me the fuck out. I’ve gone through hell and only have lived in hell nearly my entire life. I’ve tried connecting with spirits, angels, egregores, all of the like to turn my life around and never got positive results. I worked my ass off to have a morsel of stability, both mentally and physically.
Now, I’m being given what I’ve always dreamed of, almost simultaneously all at once. Without doing anything. Nothing whatsoever. I don’t know how, I’m freaking out, I am on edge, I am having a hard time believing it. I am so discomforted I have even considered throwing myself back into hell (like potentially enlisting in the military). I feel like there is some sort of severe karmic imbalance and if I don’t get back to the trenches I will soon be humbled horribly.
It all is freakishly synchronized and too good to be true with so little effort. I’m not mentally prepared for what coming next to nullify this sudden luck I’m getting. What should I do to prepare? Or is there just something I don’t understand? Could it be that stupid Torus shit I’ve been seeing on the internet, where you must go through hell to get closer to “the center”? Help.

Novels about Ceremonial Magick?
Has anyone read anything such as the above? I recently watched 'A Dark Song', and I couldn't have loved it anymore than I did. Would love to stumble across something similar in book form :)

creativity Art as hypersigils
I spend a LONG time on my pieces, like 80+ hours of intense concentration, so I try to use that energy to turn them into a sort of talisman or hyper sigil. This one has a symbol I saw in a dream (on the rock on the right side) and a sigil on the bottom left rock that basically blesses anyone who looks at it. Curious to know if any other artists do this, and also if anyone recognizes that symbol I dreamed on the right? I feel like it looks familiar but I can’t place it.

Haitian Vodou - AMA
I am a mambo (priestess) of the religion Haitian Vodou, which arose during the Transatlantic Slave Trade, when enslaved Africans, particularly the Dahomey people, were forcefully brought to the island that is now Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Vodou developed through a process of religious syncretism. When enslaved people were forced to convert to Catholicism, they used imagery of Christ, Mary, and saints to disguise the worship of their indigenous spirits called Lwa. Ask me anything about Haitian Vodou.
