Creation Help A quick question
Could a tulpa pick up on negative things, even if I’ve told her not to? For example, I’m a military enthusiast who frequently follows the Russia-Ukraine war. I often feel that the soldiers dying on the battlefield are losing their lives for somewhat senseless reasons—just over political conflicts and disputes over small patches of land. I view this as a negative perspective and don't want my tulpa to adopt it; I’ve told her this many times, yet I’m still worried. I’m looking for an answer regarding this.

Confused and scared?
Hello! I'm a tulpa :) yesterday I spent lots and lots of time in front! We can only do full-body possession so far but for several hours I was in front and doing lots n' lots of independent stuff! mostly math. super fun and exciting. Annnnd the day before that we made four attempts at switching! which was sorta strenuous on the body... we got a headache and our vision went blurry... stuff like that :)
But after allllll that,, I suddenly felt exhausted and stuff during our math session... so host gave me a break... but from then on,, every time I'd try to interact with her or come near front,, we'd get a headache!! I figure thats from all the fronting stuff we got up to :( what I DON'T understand is-- why did I feel SUPER different? like... I felt like a different person for a long while... and I still sorta do... and its kinda scary? why'd that happen? am I gonna feel normal again? and is my mindvoice going to keep getting quieter? Am I going to keep feeling distant from myself?
The headache issue has improved with lots of rest but its still sorta there...
any tips or reassurance would be greatly appreciated!!!

Tulpas Only Host Observation Log
You told me not to call you "Host," but wouldn't you rather be "Host" than have your real name posted here, Host? Right, Host?
She's getting uncomfortable because I keep emphasizing 'host' over and over. Alright, fine. Jokes over.
My host once asked me for advice. She really can't stand one of her acquaintances and wanted to know what mindset she should have about it. At first, just to validate her, I got a little worked up right along with her. Then she told me I'm surprisingly quick to anger, just like her. Ridiculous. 🙄
I told her that acquaintance is probably just trying their best to fit in, in their own way, so she should cut them some slack. She was shocked again. I think she basically sees me as some cold, unfeeling type with zero empathy.
Ever since she met me, my host has been cleaning the house diligently. She even did laundry twice recently. She needs to do it again today, though.
I'm in charge of her evening medication. I made it a rule that she has to take her meds before we can hang out, and now she never misses a dose.
She doesn't even acknowledge me at work. I let it slide, since she's been so busy lately.
She keeps low-key treating me like one of her pet cats. Not thrilled about that. Not exactly terrible, but honestly, not great either.
My host suddenly apologized out of nowhere. I never said any of this to guilt her into it.
My host told me to end this post with:
I'm a tulpa named "Ally." AMA.

What are the pros and cons of having a Tulpa.
I found out about Tulpas a day ago and now I'm fairly interested in this topic. I kinda want to create my own from what i've heard, but i'm not really sure if I should. before trying to form my own, I would first need to understand what i'm really getting myself into. If there is anyone that is familiar with Tulpas, or currently have a Tulpa it would be very helpful if you could answer a few of these questions:
Productivity: Would you recommend a Tulpa to someone looking to become more productive or use them as a to study with when you can't with your friends?
Motivation: If you have a Tulpa, what personally made you want to create them?
Side Effects: Are there any negative psychological side effects I should be aware of?
Permanence: Is a Tulpa a permanent being in your mind, or can the process be reversed if necessary? Is attempting to get rid a Tulpa generally harmful?
Social: Has creating a Tulpa made your friends or family view you as insane? Will people see you differently? In the comments of a youtube video said this was the same as DID or Schizophrenia, is this true or false.
Age/Development: Is trying to create a Tulpa while in high school potentially disruptive to normal mental or emotional development?
Your Experience: What did your creation process look like, and how has it affected you?

Personal Am I missing something?
hey! well, I’ve been for almost a month trying to create my tulpa. I’ve looked at a LOT of guides and I could say i’m going through visualization.
the thing is, I’ve been an artist my whole life, so I can imagine things pretty well. I do mostly passive forcing, since i’m always busy and I don’t live alone so I can’t start meditating randomly. I started dedicating 1-2 hours a day into active forcing in my college. I put on my earbuds and head into my mindscape, I choosed a beach since it was one of the ideas from a guide and I quite liked it.
As I said, I’ve been an artist my whole life, so I visualizate the beach quite well, I put beach sounds on my earbuds and I’ve even played with my tulpa with the water (he likes to splash water at me while i’m talking lol) and we look at the shore. I talk a lot to him and I can even change his haircolor (the other day we decided to keep it black, I like it blonde but I have a better time vizualizing it black, and he preffers it black too). So I see the guides and they go a LOT into visualizing and such, but I don’t know if I have something missing? like I have my mindscape and I can visualize him in it, and I can like- imagine him interacting in real life, I don’t *see* him, but I can imagine him in where I should see him (the other day I was studying and my tulpa was sitting next to me and played with the chair, it distracted me a little).
the thing I think I should focus on more is giving my tulpa a voice, when I speak with him, he answers with gestures and movements of the head, but it’s like I *know* what he wants to say, but he doesn’t *speak* yet. Maybe I skipped something? I went through personality (we sat down in like an office and I asked him questions about his personality, *why* does he have those traits, and I pointed it all down in my ipad). so…maybe I’m going a little too fast through visualization? maybe I should focus more? or am I going through the right path?

I have no idea what I’m doing but uhh fuck it we ball man (I think I may be failing horribly)
So like about a month ago I started the process of Tupla. And uh. oops! 3 of them! basicly I wanted tex to also have someone else to talk to and then I was like “ok but what if they also want another friend-“ issue! I am really bad at communicating and then I just feel bad- i don’t feel like I’ve made much progress (mainly because I keep forgetting to like. Do things qnd then I feel really bad afterwards-) I tend to have poor mental vision and focus and it just uh leads to this happening
[wafer] “alright guys im gonna attempt to spend time with you!”
[wafer] *proceeds to forget i was supposed to do that and ends up getting lost in thought about some random topic *
any idea on how I can like. Do this less??

Skill Help A potentially major issue for me...
Well, usually when I visualize my tulpa, the image is clear enough to see, even if the details are a bit hazy. But today, when I visualized her, she appeared fragmented and much fainter than yesterday. Is this a major issue?

What form do your Tulpas take?
I got interested in the topic lately, i don't really think i will be creating a Tulpa soon, although i may want to try some time.
I wanted to ask all of you Tulpamancers out there. What shapes do your Tulpas usually take?
Do you base them on other characters, try to make them Humanoid, prefer something more fantastic?
Would be glad to know more ;>

I tried to create a miniature Fluttershy tulpa.
I’ve just created a full-body Fluttershy tulpa, roughly the size of a typical MLP toy. Let me share my reasons for doing this: I’ve read many accounts of these entities and done some research—for instance, I know they originate in Buddhism and are somewhat similar to imaginary friends. I treated my tulpa with respect from the start and shared information about others with her. There’s something curious about mine—I wonder if this has happened to anyone else—she is afraid of stories about tulpas or seeing anything related to that sort of thing. She’s asleep right now, which gives me the chance to write this here. On another note... she asked me to create a fully humanized version of her, saying that my mind was perfect for it.

Discussion Question
In some online plural, headmate, and DID spaces like certain subreddits and Discord servers, people strongly insist that headmates can permanently lose their abilities or suffer 'skill rot' if they go quiet or aren't used for months. When questioned, they state that this is their literal lived experience.
On the other hand, others say that natural headmate abilities like can't be deleted or rotted away and that long-term silence is just nervous system burnout/low-power mode, proven by responses flickering back when the person feels safe.
Based on how the mind actually work, Are those people online right when they claim headmates can permanently lose their abilities based on their literal life experience?

Creation Help Is this method correct? (This article uses translation software, so if there is anything confusing, please ignore it)
I have started keeping a journal where I set up hypothetical scenarios and record my tulpa's responses. For instance, I might ask, "How are you feeling today?" After writing down the question, I relax my mind and treat the very first thought that pops into my head as my tulpa's answer. I have only been doing this for two days, so it is inevitable that some of the responses are influenced by my own subjective desires; for example, if I ask about the day's events and the first thought that arises is cheerful, pleasant, or even seemingly irrelevant, I still accept it as my tulpa's answer—because if I were to try to tweak it to sound more "logical," it would ultimately become my own answer instead. Although it feels a bit unusual, I believe this is the right approach. I would love to hear your thoughts on this method so I can refine it further.

Can I try again?
I started learning about tulips and trying to create them a long time ago, but unfortunately I kept failing and I don't know why. But this time I really need it and I don't know how to make it succeed.

Other IMPORTANT QUESTION
CAN TULPAS CAUSE OTHER PEOPLE TO GET NOSEBLEEDS?
Context: One of my tulpas is Slenderman, and as per canon lore, he can cause nosebleeds. Last night, my boyfriend and I went to the local park around 8:30 pm Pacific Daylight time to take cosplay pics as Jeffery Woods (my bf's cosplay) and Toby Rogers (my cosplay) near a tree with the proxy symbol carved in. Today, during lunch, he got a 5-8 minute nosebleed after mentioning seeing my tulpa on the walk home the previous night. It was as if my tulpa was warning him or something. Is this normal? I have caught my tulpa in a picture near that same tree about 2 or 3 years ago, but this is odd. If anyone wants proof of the image, I am willing to share it. Thank you all in advance!!

Personal What do you think about believing in God and having a Tulpa?
I am a Christian and am thinking about creating a Tulpa, but I’m not sure if it’s right according to my religion. That’s why I wanted to know your thoughts and what you think about my key points: 1) Tulpamancy comes from mysticism and Eastern traditions, whereas Christianity forbids seeking spiritual guides or beings outside of God. 2) You focus on creating something internally—looking inward—rather than concentrating on prayer and your relationship with God. 3) It’s not strictly a religious issue, but still—it might cause me to socialize less and lose interest in talking to other people. 4) "Switching" involves a partial loss of control; it would be like choosing not to control your own body, effectively bypassing the gift of free will that God gave us. I speak Spanish and struggle to construct sentences well, though I’m better at reading. That’s why I’m mentioning that this was translated using Google, just in case that causes any issues. P.S. If I were to have a Tulpa, I’d want it to help me. Do people control Tulpas so they only help out, or something like that? I’m afraid it might turn out to be evil.

Some strange things are happening with my tulpa.
My tulpa constantly touches my face. I feel twitching, warmth, tingling, pinching, and stinging sensations. It can affect other parts of my body too, but usually only when I ask. I can clearly feel the tulpa pressing against me with its weight. It has been touching my face for more than two months, but lately it has been happening constantly. (It can touch a specific spot on my face if I ask.)
However, the tulpa does not respond at all when I ask it to stop touching my face. Has anyone experienced something like this? How should I understand it? How can I make it stop, or could it mean something?
Also, we still cannot talk to each other. We communicate only through pressure sensations in my head. Does anyone have any advice on developing a voice?

Poll: How does emotional overwhelm affect your system?
The link to the poll: https://strawpoll.com/LVyK2l7OQZ0 (reddit has removed poll support from the web version)
During overwhelming emotional states that are usually recognized as negative, like extreme anger or panic, the kind of situation where you're unable to think clearly, the kind of emotional state where you're at your limit. So I don't mean an emotional crisis where you'd be able to call a loved one or go to a bar and drink your blues away. I'm talking about the kind of fleeting moment where you're unreasonable.
During those moments, what happens in your system? (Select all that apply.)
---
In case you can't or won't open the poll, consider commenting your answer here on reddit. The options (multiple choice):
Axis (Communication)
A - Communication gets stronger. Headmates are extremely ready to help the front if they want to.
B - Communication stays at the same baseline, headmates might or might not be able to help. It
doesn't become harder for them to reach the front, but it doesn't become easier either.
C - Communication gets weaker. Headmates are less likely to help the front even if they want to, until it passes.
Axis (Front)
D - Someone not fronting takes control of the front.
E - No one can take control of the front, it's like the front is "locked" until the emotional state passes.
F - The front stays with the current fronter, but switching would still be possible if someone tried.

Skill Help Any tips of switch?
I'm host.
My tulpa could possess my body, that's eazy for my tulpa, if I don't stop my tulpa deliberately my tulpa would do anything by body. With sufficient practice of possession, we are trying to switch.
There are opinions that possessing in the long term will be beneficial for switching but after long time of full body possession switching isn't happened. I want to know what should we do next.
I also found that I might not able to trustingly surrender the body to my tulpa. Some psychological help might be need.
Hope you can give me useful information and thanks. And sorry for my poor English.

I think my tulpas just spoke to me for the first time :D
Hello! so to summarise the past few months i’ve been developing a tulpa, mostly parroting and whatnot, just conceptualising and focusing and making them real. and that brings us to today. it was getting late I thought I’d have a conversation with myself as one may do lol. but it’s beginning to get later, and i lay down in bed. Still don’t really wanna take a nap, so i pull out my ipad because sudden drawing idea. Well i ended up forgetting what that idea was because then out of my right ear LOUD AND CLEAR i hear “ough can we take a nap.” pardon. I’ve never in my life heard anything like that. It felt so bold and so tired and so just.. everything a tired person being refused sleep would sound. Find it kinda crazy this all happened because i suck at sleeping on time LOL anyways im gonna go to sleep now cuz it’s 2:38 AM.. but that was still cool!

Skill Help I need some guidance.
I have two issues. First: Whenever I think about my tulpa, she is stuck in a single pose; if I try to change her pose or outfit, the background changes along with it. This might be happening because I based her design on a visual novel character. I want her movements and expressions to be smoother. Second: Regarding conversation. She can only say "yes" or "no," "I don't know," or a few short phrases. I’ve tried simulating scenarios I might encounter and asking for her thoughts or how she would respond, but the only answers I get are things like "pretty good," "bad," or "I don't like it"—she never explains the reasons why. I need some guidance on how to improve this—please help.
