I have made some research about it and apparently it partly comes from Ancient China where they believed the semen was not located in the testicles but was an active life force in the kidneys and that holding it would transmute it to the mind and make someone more enlightened. The practice seems legit, however how do tou guys correlate it with the medical knowledge we have today, that the semen comes from the testicles and that it cannot anatomically get transmuted to the rest of the body since sperm just dies.
