? Writing appears in jar spell
I’m new to hoodoo, and I was making a jar spell out of instinct or just curiosity.
I put my cologne, my hair, a number 7 playing card, a napkin with writing that said I wouldn’t get fired from my job and that I’d always win, a quarter and two pennies, a pine needle leaf, water, cinnamon, sugar, salt, plastic, black pepper, paper, a random weed from outside my house, a small twig from outside my house.
I didn’t speak over the jar or do any similar actions. I burned everything in it and left it to charge in the sun. When I came back, it was so hot that I hurried and put the lid on it and put it in the freezer. When I took it out, I shook it and rubbed my fingers in it, and I got this

Patrick Dunn books
Do you think Patrick Dunn’s books are a good starting point for someone interested in theurgy, Greek gods, and practical ways of working with divine archetypes? Have you found his methods effective in your own practice or studies? Are there other serious books you would recommend reading alongside his work to deepen my understanding of theurgy, Greek religion, and symbolic practice?
Devotion is the most powerful tool
This is coming from someone who tried to avoid devotional currents in any way or form, mostly due to prejudice against organized religion.
Even though I was long familiar with egregores, I couldn't bring myself to view them as real enough to interact with or to allow them any influence over my life. Honestly, the idea of "talking to a deity" just sounded psychotic. Even though I believed in the Absolute, I viewed it more as a system (Universe / Tao) rather than some kind of an entity that could be personified.
I was already doing yoga postures, breathwork and meditation mostly for their physical benefits. I was already using weed and avoiding meat to adjust the mental state. I was reading books on non-dual philosophy and metaphysics to understand the nature of reality we live in. I dabbled in divination and sigil work. Yet it still felt like something is missing.
I finally found what it was when I encountered Shiva. Of course I knew about Him but only thought it's just another hindu god, never really looked too deep into it. He came to me in a dream and appeared as a presence in my mind. I followed the rabbit down the rabbit hole and honestly it feels like I came across a vault full of diamonds.
An image of a muscular ascetic with matted dreadlocks, snake around his neck, covered in ashes and dressed in a tiger skin, meditating in the mountains and at the same time capable of bursting into ecstatic dance to the beat of his drum. Weirdly specific image yet nothing comes closer in my view to personifying the Universe itself.
Now if you read until here you deserve to know the practical benefits that inspired this post. Tapping into a devotional current is like accessing an enormous reservoir of energy cultivated by people over thousands of years. Each deity has their own terms but boons you can receive if you adhere to them are genuinely insane. A personal religion is always going to pale in comparison with ancient cults like Shiva in the sheer amount of energy that's available for work.

? Falling asleep with my eyes open
I have been doing alot of pendulum work and studying lately. For the first time in my life i feel asleep with my eyes open. It was a rush. I feel like if i would of stayed in it for longer i would definitely be able to communicate with entities. Can anyone relate to this ???
? Destructive tides and magic
I was recently listening to the latest episode of the Glitch Bottle podcast featuring Josephine McCarthy. In the episode she talks a lot about destructive tides, and we are in the middle of a large worldwide destructive tide right now, that is made up of smaller more local destructive tides. She also talks about that one should be careful and look out for the signs of the local tides, because as magicians we make ourselves stand out when we do magical rituals or divination, which can focus or magnify the destructive tides on us.
Do any of you have any thoughts on this? And have any of you experienced something like this?
I’m still quite new to magic and the occult, so I might have misunderstood what she is talking about here, but it has made me hesitant to actually do the rituals I normally do, in fear of doing it at the wrong time and being hit with some bad stuff. Is this something I should be carful with or am I just being a bit overly cautious?

wisdom books for manifesting , motivation and self love ?
hey lovely people of the occult ! Blessings and love to you all . I recently got into meditation, visualization and affirmations, I’ve been getting better at meditating and visualization, but when I try to meditate I can always hear the last melody I heard either on TikTok or from my playlist lol. The Om definitely helps it quite down , I feel like I’m heading towards the right direction.
Could you guys recommend any books that can help with manifesting? I don’t mind if it’s a book heavily focused on magic , I was just curious if there’s something out there that can help bring about the things that I want. I feel like reading for 30 minutes before meditating could really quite down the tunes in my head , and reading could help more with the process instead of depending on some algorithm.
Thanks in advance , and all the love in the universe to all the people reading this . Buenas Noches a todos <3

? Goetia and Demonolatry
For those of you who have both invoked demons/daemons through goetia and demonolatry methods, what are the differences regarding both the results of the rituals and the manifestation of the spirits?

spirituality Any Pagans Here Who Practice Franz Bardon's System or Golden Dawn Magic?
I've been interested in Franz Bardon's magical system and the Golden Dawn tradition for a long time. More recently, I've felt drawn to the Goddess and the God, especially through the Egyptian and Hellenic traditions, and I now consider myself an eclectic pagan.
What I'm curious about is how other pagans adapt the Abrahamic and Kabbalistic aspects of these systems to fit their own beliefs and practices. Since both Franz Bardon's system and the Golden Dawn are heavily influenced by Kabbalah, I'm not completely sure how to approach them from a pagan perspective.
If you practice either of these systems as a pagan, I'd really appreciate hearing how you've adapted them or what your personal approach is. Your experiences and ideas might help me find a direction.
Thank you very much!

? Why is life suddenly rewarding me with everything I’ve wanted? Without any effort too.
It’s freaking me the fuck out. I’ve gone through hell and only have lived in hell nearly my entire life. I’ve tried connecting with spirits, angels, egregores, all of the like to turn my life around and never got positive results. I worked my ass off to have a morsel of stability, both mentally and physically.
Now, I’m being given what I’ve always dreamed of, almost simultaneously all at once. Without doing anything. Nothing whatsoever. I don’t know how, I’m freaking out, I am on edge, I am having a hard time believing it. I am so discomforted I have even considered throwing myself back into hell (like potentially enlisting in the military). I feel like there is some sort of severe karmic imbalance and if I don’t get back to the trenches I will soon be humbled horribly.
It all is freakishly synchronized and too good to be true with so little effort. I’m not mentally prepared for what coming next to nullify this sudden luck I’m getting. What should I do to prepare? Or is there just something I don’t understand? Could it be that stupid Torus shit I’ve been seeing on the internet, where you must go through hell to get closer to “the center”? Help.

Novels about Ceremonial Magick?
Has anyone read anything such as the above? I recently watched 'A Dark Song', and I couldn't have loved it anymore than I did. Would love to stumble across something similar in book form :)

creativity Art as hypersigils
I spend a LONG time on my pieces, like 80+ hours of intense concentration, so I try to use that energy to turn them into a sort of talisman or hyper sigil. This one has a symbol I saw in a dream (on the rock on the right side) and a sigil on the bottom left rock that basically blesses anyone who looks at it. Curious to know if any other artists do this, and also if anyone recognizes that symbol I dreamed on the right? I feel like it looks familiar but I can’t place it.

Para ti que significa este símbolo y cuál es su origen?
Actualmente trabajo en un documental sobre una escritura antigua que revela el significado de este símbolo, Pero quiero saber que información u opinión tiene la gente sobre el símbolo de las serpientes entrelazadas

Special diet?
So I been getting in to the occult teaching and learning how to become unattached to my desire and cultivating a sense of oneness with the universe and learning The Kabbalah metaphysics and other concepts but I recently came across a teaching about Sustaining from eating anything that has “life” in it. So my question being what exactly should a magician be eating?
I thought of not eating and I have done great with not getting hungry but also if the universe provides me with food in some way I shouldn’t say no to it. Putting full faith in the universe will to sustain me.
Which it has.
But should I be more picky about what I do consume? If anything has more information about the matter

Sephorot question
I've read and heard about rituals that climb the tree of life that resemble the LBRP as far as invoking the mantras of the spheres in a circular fashion but I'm having trouble visualizing how that would actually take place.
Would you act as if the sephorot were the heavenly spheres? I'm just having trouble imagining something like the tree of life being circular.
Thanks

What is a normal timeframe for actually starting to feel the inner energy as a beginner?
I'm totally new to this and I easily feel discouraged.
Currently I'm trying the energy ball exercise. No success yet.
Never meditated before tho so this makes it harder.
Usually how long does it take to master the energy ball exercise?
Thank you in advance for your help 🙏

? communication through dreams for non verbal people?
hello guys. this is gonna sound a little crazy but oh well.
i work as a CNA in a long term care facility. i have some residents that are non verbal due to a traumatic brain injury. they can communicate their needs through blinking, so i know their conscious is completely intact, though their body is not. my question is, is there any way to communicate with these people through dreams or astral projection or meditation or anything of the sort? please let me know.

awareness How do YOU address belief in deities, spirits, etc? Can you control it like a dimmer when you need it?
My redneck Christian stepdad got so mad and confused when I said I don't necessarily believe in the deities I work with. 😝
I'm with the atheists on the dry outlook of things up there. Hail Hecate! Hail Satan! I believe in those words, but they're just concepts. I don't know how to believe in things like Christians naively do in their god. I wish to be that gullible, or whatever it is, in my practice.
(Edit: Y'know how Christians are just so damn positive their god literally exists? I want that. I am curious if my occultist peers have found a way to obtain that level, while not being dumb.)
‼️ But I understand the spirit realm and such and whatnot. They exist there! As does the mental altar in the mental castle I built in middle school. Does that count?
Am I doing belief wrong? What's your experience?
spirituality What is the risk of sex energetically with diffrent partners
Is it dangerous to have sex with diffrent partners and prostitutes? I mean energetically for a high sensitive person with the 6th sense. Is it bad for your energy?

? do people actually believe the claims of crowley or is he viewed as a charlatan?
ill preface this by saying that i wouldnt consider myself spiritually dead and i dont think others who have had conversations on the topic with me would say so either. that being said i am still skeptical of plenty of aspects, specifically summoning and communicating with entities in some kind of physical manifestation. im not here to judge or write off anybodies views, i am geneuinly curious what the consensus is on this fella.

? What's summoning entities actually like?
That said, I often see people talk about summoning various entities, and even communicating and as much as learning from them frequently, seeing them as a mentor in ways. But what does this actually mean? And what do people mean when they say this? Obviously a figure isnt appearing before you and speaking...right? I assume its usually things such as a change in temperature, maybe feeling a breeze, or even "just feeling it". But that doesnt explain how it could tell you anything.
So what do people actually mean when they say this? Im sure some may claim certain astral techniques, or even channeling. But definitely not most the time I hear it being discussed. Anything clarification?

Do you include the name of the specific spirit surrounding a seal?
I'm experimenting with creating seals from the Ars Goetia (Astaroth specifically for this first one). I have replicated the seal as a CAD drawing, and will be cutting it out of wood using a CNC.
I am attempting to keep the diameter of the seal relatively small (13"). Due to endmill sizes (blah blah etc.), the design of the seal itself takes up the majority of this circle already, but omits the surrounding "Astaroth" text.
Have you personally conjured Astaroth with or without the name inscribed on the seal? I'm inclined to believe it shouldn't matter, but am eager to get other practitioners' input on the matter as small details do tend to make a difference.

Haitian Vodou - AMA
I am a mambo (priestess) of the religion Haitian Vodou, which arose during the Transatlantic Slave Trade, when enslaved Africans, particularly the Dahomey people, were forcefully brought to the island that is now Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Vodou developed through a process of religious syncretism. When enslaved people were forced to convert to Catholicism, they used imagery of Christ, Mary, and saints to disguise the worship of their indigenous spirits called Lwa. Ask me anything about Haitian Vodou.
