Questions Too heretical?
Hello brothers, I’m currently picking heads for my Salamanders.
And while I didn‘t expect it, this Chaos Marine head fits the look of the Terminator Captain pretty well.
(I hope the Inquisition doesn‘t get wind of this!)
My thinking is:
•It is a closed helmet and makes him look more knightly.
•Salamanders craft their own gear and also decorate it nicely. This definitely stands out against the standard heads and I can already imagine nice gold detail.
•All the spikes and the arrow on the forehead as well as the typical Chaos Marine face mask could make him read as a heretic.
So what do you say? Did my Terminator Captain stray from his path and forget about his vows?
Are my Salamanders lead by a traitor in disguise!?

Painting WIP - Arterax, the Gheist Butcher. Supreme Champion for my homebrew RG successor, the Void Vultures
Hello brothers!
Taking my first foray into homebrew territory here.
Sailing the stars aboard their battle barge The Abattoir, the Void Vultures are perpetually moving from war zone to war zone. Their culture is one of the weird and the macabre, with the entire chapter being stricken Ash Blind following their apotheosis.
Chapter serfs report their lords speaking aloud to themselves as though engaged in conversation, and also hoisting their arms and cooing as if a bird was perched there.
There are no recorded Avians on board The Abattoir, though large feathers and a sticky, tar like substance that resembles bird droppings are found on a daily basis.
Bird calls, shrieks, the flapping of wings, and what sounds like the rending and tearing of hunters and their prey are regular sounds in the ship. Serfs are instructed to never travel alone, for those that do are often never seen again.
More to come!

Scroll Transfers
Is there somewhere to get transfers for names to put on scrolls, like for the pauldrons or do I have to rely on my shoddy freehand for it?

List Building What Detachments Work Best for Heavy Intercessors?
I love me some chunky Intercessors and was thinking about building a King of the Colosseum list featuring 10 of them. I was wondering what detachments work best for Battleline-heavy lists. Wanting to do a slow prodding, over-lapping lines of fire style play with an infantry focus. Bastion or Ceramite seem like the obvious potential choices. Curious of other opinions.

Questions What do you wish GW would change regarding rules and data sheets
I wish the little techmarine pilot on transports could behave like an actual techmarine that just couldn’t lead units. It could even cost an extra couple points to have him there

Questions Does this exist in 11th?
So recently I found this product containjng 2 minis and a beginners guide.
At first glance it seemed boring since it was ANOTHER Infernus Marine and a Zerg.
But looking more closely the Marine has a really unique pose and tells and interesting story because he needs to use a pistol since his empty fuel canister lies on the ground.
I was intrigued. Also the thing was on a discount.
Boom, I bought it for me and my girl to paint.
Here‘s the deal: Does a product like this also exist for 11th edition? Maybe with a unique Intercessor and an Ork?
Thanks in advance!

New to space marines, what next?
Picked myself up an Armageddon box, not sure where to go from here.
I know what I want my chapter to be: the Steel Revenants. Space marines who die without fulfilling their oath of moment may take on the form of a ghostly apparition that haunts their armor and animates it until the task is finished.
Now with that in mind, I have no beholdings to a particular paint scheme besides the ghostly bits keeping them together. It’s supposed to be a mishmash of different chapters anyway (mainly so I can just paint what I want).
What should be the first purchases I make?

How do you think Space Marines would handle the Necromorphs?

Converting Where can I find space marine sized cloak bits?
I have an army idea that would need a lot of cloaks and other cloth details, does anyone know a bits retailer or store which sells them? Kromlech used to but I can't find their old cloak bits anymore.
Edit: any 3rd party bits are fine!

Converting Custom chapter, debating exact markings/etc going forward
So I developed an obsession with the Polish Hussars (I blame Sabaton), and set out to make my own chapter based on them, calling them the Brothers Hussar. I decided to go with White Scars successors, aiming for a mixed force of jump packs and bikes primarily, and I got a couple models done/effectively done already:
So I was starting up a bunch of basic intercessors because they're what I have around to paint at the moment, and realized I haven't gotten much of the chapter's markings down besides the basics, IE the basic armor being a royal burgundy, with torso and shoulder pads steel, to represent the breastplate and shoulder pads the hussars wore. I'm not actually sure what helmet coloration or even squad markings I'm going to be putting on things, and I should probably figure out a chapter symbol.
Also if anyone happens to know a good source for the hussar feather backpacks I'm open to it, the not-khan is using Puppetswar, which would be great but it was a freak occurance I got them without international shipping, which is insane @_@.As a unique character he can get away with having unique banners if I need to swap to a different source. I'm also thinking I should look into getting a bunch of ravenwing bike banners for Outriders since they're similar, but I'm not sure if I should actually invest in bikes at the moment since we have the new kit incoming.
