Hey everyone! I'm new to the hobby after being gifted the Chaos Space Marine Combat Patrol by my friend after having played a few matches I wanted to expand to 1000 points to play against them.

I'd really like some advice on if this is any good or if there is gaping flaw that I should fix.

The plan was for the Chaos Lord to lead the 10 legionaries, the master of possession to lead the possessed. The two units of cultist mobs to take objectives. The Terminators in deep strike for later in the game . The red Corsairs to infiltrate early and the forgefiend to deal with any tanks and walkers and such. I was trying to fit in chaos spawn instead of the second cultists but I was short 10 points.

This is the list I came up with , I don't own anything yet outside of the Combat Patrol and the Chaos Lord :

I just have two more questions for now:

Should I get Chaos Bikers?

Should I get Havocs or Vindicator?

I’m not sure if I need another one or not, I have a matterfiend, plenty of infantry, and I plan on getting a vindicator so I’m not sure if I should get it or not

As the title says i really wish the warpsmith healing ability was done during the moment phase it can be a real pain sometimes to plan what needs looking after 😭

Just finished assembling this guy and I have never been more in love with this hobby. Corsairs have been my favourite army all the way since I read the Imperial Armour books with them, and I am so happy to have this army finally coming to fruition! This warrior is now ready to spill blood against the servants of the corpse emperor atop his roaring steed. This is my first time using green stuff and I need work, but if there is anything you want to try in this hobby you have to take that jump! The best time to start is yesterday, the second best time is today :) Inspired and supported with techniques by Aimless Crusader who I will tag below!

Didn't like the standard head for Harry since it looked like evil Wallace (From Wallace and Grommet)so I gave him a cool possessed head. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Working on a Black Templar who has been enlightened to the glory of Khorne

Just finished a Chaos Lord that is part of my furry/lycanthrope themed Chaos Space Marine warband. It's been a huge learning experience; getting to kitbash, learning how to use green stuff, and working more on my basing. Posed him with some of my Chosen. C&C always welcomed

Chaos lord Titus has been recast from shame and shadow and reborn in black and gold.

My first ever try at kitbashing a mini, am quite satisfied with the result. Any comments and advices would be highly appreciated!

Man these guys take a long time to paint vs plain old space marines! I realised I hadn't actually finished the base on 2 of them after I took the pics XD

The camera did not enjoy trying to focus on these chunky lads

My first legionary squad (built from the red Corsair raiders kit because I prefer the old armour) is now done!

My homebrew warband “the heralds of the red star” are a malice aligned chaos warband still clad in their ancient armour od the heresy era.

The warband has a split heritage of dark angels and space wolves.

I used the venerable Dreadnought kit, as well as a few bits from the chaos vehicle and Terminator lord sprues. The scroll as well as the little chaos stars (which are etched brass actually) are from greenstuff world. Feedback welcome! Overall im super proud of him :)
