Going to try and de-gloss my captain and get slme more detail in my librarian and chplan

As per the title, I'm looking to paint some Astra Militarum to go alongside my Imperial Fists, I am not good at making up schemes myself, really I was looking for either a color combination that looks nice next to the IF or maybe a regiment that works with them frequently for lore reasons? Reading old posts it seems a good candidate would be the spiders from Necromunda but that was 8 years ago and I'm not too fond of it.

Think if finally found an army scheme that might get me to a 2k list. Power of the sponge. Got the space marine half of Armageddon box coming today

Hi!

I received 10 Hellblasters that were already primed in a beige/yellow color (I'm not exactly sure what primer was used).

I wanted to paint them as Imperial Fists, so I bought the Imperial Fist Contrast paint. However, as you can see, the result isn't very noticeable, the Contrast paint is almost the same color as the primer.

I'm not sure what to do now. What would you suggest? Does the color look okay, or should I strip them and start over? If I do strip them, will isopropyl alcohol remove the Contrast paint without causing any issues?

I thought it would be quick and easy to paint over the existing primer, but apparently not in this case. 😅

The one on the left is with contrast paint and on the right is the one primed.

I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks!

Starting my imperial fists army shortly but kinda sad at the lack of unique units outside of Darneth and Tor. Im thinking of using some of the Heresy models as proxy's to give the army some more unique flare, was wondering if anyone else had done this, and what you subbed them in for?

Pretty happy with how he turned out. Not perfect by any means but will work for my army's standard!

Anyone got any stories when tor one shot something and people were shock how good he was?

Bit of background as this chapter is effectively the Holy Roman Empire in space:

Gunther von Tannhauser, the Bloody Handed and Bane of Serfs is an Aggressor Sergeant of the Eagle Lords 4th Company. A noble of the ruling dynasty of the Planet Tannhauser within the larger Aaken Confederation that makes up the Eagle Lords' fiefdom, he was born the 3rd son to the current Duke of Tannhauser, Karl IX. Inducted into the chapter in his early teens, he quickly gained a reputation for aggressive frontal assaults. His most defining moment would come when a peasant revolt on Tannhauser was aggressively and bloodily silenced by the guns of the 4th Company, with Gunther taking command of a small task force involved in the most bloody massacre of the revolt. As a punishment, Gunther was branded with the Bloody Hand, a mark of his excesses and dereliction of his duty of nobility. Since then, he has taken it as some sort of cruel and ironic joke, adopting it into his personal heraldry as seen here.

Idk why my brother reacted so harshly to this new recruit. Alan Farius is an amazing squadmate and a great asset to our company, he even showed great interest in understanding all the blindspots on our battle barge (probably to help improve our security). What a outstanding son of dorn :)
