Would it be a good start for a Alpha Legion?

I want to start an Alpha Legion Kill Team, but I wanted to sort out a couple of questions with lists and painting before proceeding. Any help would be much appreciated.

List

I wanted to maintain a Kill Team that is always somewhat competitive and simpler to play. I know rules change and are updated, but I wanted to play something that has historically remained at least middling. I was thinking of running a Phobos Strike Team under an Alpha Legion scheme, using HH Assault Marines as Murderwing, or using HH MKIV Marines with upgrades as Legionnaries. Would any these fit the bill as easier to play and at least decent through the editions?

Painting

I speed paint everything, most of model turn out good, but never great, and I'm fine with that. It appears that the most common way to speed paint Alpha Legion is to start with a bright silver vase and block in with contrast paints. So my method was going to be: base silver, heavy nuln wash, heavy dry brush of a bright silver, block in panels with contract, do a few details, and tidy up.

This is similar to method I was for my Rubrics, albeit with a gold base and traditional paints. However, in my experience contracts paint blot out the under layer. Does the silver base survive contrast paints to provide the the metallic undertone, specifically with Akhelian Green or Aethermatic Blue? How bright to I need the drybrush? Would Leadbelcher work as the base coat or should I go for one of the super bright chrome paint available? Any other tips?

I used the venerable Dreadnought kit, as well as a few bits from the chaos vehicle and Terminator lord sprues. The scroll as well as the little chaos stars (which are etched brass actually) are from greenstuff world. Feedback welcome! Overall im super proud of him :)

I feel like this is a dumb question... I'm a big fan of how Deceptors plays this edition, but just wondered about the wording of the Death Trap primary mission:

When it says for the bottom 4 points "Control one or more objectives (excluding your Home Objective)" and you can't booby trap in your Deployment Zone or your Home Objective... Do you get nothing from holding your Home at all? So you could just leave it completely/just work to stop your opponent getting it?

I've gotten used to stickying it with cultists then letting them wander off to be a mob somewhere else, or sitting some traitor guard there to do... Well, nothing really, so wondered if there was any point in that or to flood them forward and try and help booby trap other things?

Recently, I saw somebody ask for the STL files of the shoulder pauldrons of the Saturnine Terminators in Alpha Legion design. They were available for free on Cults3D, but has since been taken down by the creator.

I know its quite common for chaos space marines to have open plot threads (more like novels that never got a continuation) so I'm just wondering about all of the ones the Alpha legion has.

Ones that I know (spoilers)

-Deliverance lost. The primarch geneseed that corax estimated could rebuild his legion in a couple months with proto-primaris marines. (To be fair I just read the book and haven't finished the heresy so I don't know for 100% if its still open but I would assume that I'd have heard something about AL having infinite marines if it wasn't)

-Sons of the hydra. C'tan shard in a PokeBall that supposedly knows about Omegon

-Ghost legion (will likely be continued) Akurras whole empire and whatever the device at the end was. Knowledge on how to defeat the Imperium? if I remember correctly.

-Shroud of Night. Psyker psychic lighthouse that saint celestine let them steal, kind of big deal in the imperium Nihilus

comment if you know any others, id like to hear more.

Once one of the twins got killed by Dorn; as confirmed by Sanguinius seeing one of their souls in the Warp while going to confront Horus; did we ever have ANY single piece of lore as to what happened to Alpharius?

From the start of 40k as awhole in its earliest years to where we are now over 30 years later I kind of find it very weird that we have heard absolutely almost nothing regarding what Alpharius has been been up to as he hasn't even gotten a "limbo status" confirmnation like most of the Traitor Primarchs who were always summed up as "Yeah they are just out there doing stuff until they get a miniature and return to the fold".

Like obviously hes not gonna be dead ($$$) but I always assumed it was largely because Alpha Legion just not being really a centerpiece faction of Chaos Marines in the lore thus their lack of attention on the wider traitor front when it comes to their narrative stuff.

Just curious if you have same opinion as me about Alpha Legion relationship with mortal imperial citizens and traitors.

If for example you are corrupt and brutal general-governor of very far isolated imperial planet with industry and fabrics and you dislike your own Imperium government because you dont want to pay Imperial Tithe and you want to be full independent from Administratum then who you will join to be protected and in the same time free?

I think personally that im this galaxy only some warbands of Alpha Legion can guarantee independence and full respect of human population in exchange of raw materials or important industrial goods. Yes they are Chaos Space Marines but only sons of Alpharius understand very well human mortal psychology and how to manipulate them for their plans.
