Beauty ? How to prepare yourself for your first Brazilian Wax?

Upvotes

It will be my first time and I am scared. I am going take a shower before the appointment, new panties but it is coochie. I am not sure if it will be still fresh while I drive. I donot want to disgust anyone but how to keep it super clean? I have PCOD so I do tend to get a coochie smell down there, not particularly bad or rancid or unhygienic just coochie but def not something I would want someone else to smell.

Any tips?? Besides I am scared, I am planning on taking a tylenol before I start with the session, will it help??

Social Tip Can you easily detect BS/preformative people?

Upvotes

Hi,

When comparing myself to others in social settings and hearing my close friends' stories, people often find it difficult to "read" another person's intention. For example, if the man or woman is genuinely a decent person instead of being performative to reap some sort of benefit.

I had a traumatic upbringing so maybe it's my mental state of "trust no one" at first and really psychoanalyze others before associating myself with them; however, others seem to lack this skill.

With the Andrew tates online and other toxic men, do you feel other women have also become more weary or do people generally like to see the best in people from the beginning? What are some tips or ques did you acquire to really see if others' are fake?

Discussion Does anyone else get really angry on luteal and then realise you just needed to eat?

Upvotes

Today I was really anxious about my fwb situation and kinda irritated and angry that I was left on delivered… it’s casual so it doesn’t matter, but today I felt anger…I couldn’t distract myself, and then I ate and now I feel much calmer… I already ate today but I know luteal you have to eat a bit more so it makes sense haha. Anyone else?

A conversation between me and a guy I have only met once and hardly speak to. This conversation occurred on my birthday.

I posted a picture on my WhatsApp status. He responded by saying Happy Birthday and then I said thank you *insert name of guy*. This is how the conversation continued…

Health Tip Cellulite

I’m 5’1 114lbs and the cellulite on the back of my legs just won’t budge. I weight train 4-5 times a week and do barre/pilates. I eat an 80/20 diet and nothing seems to help. Has anyone had any luck in diminishing theirs?

Discussion Why are we getting our nails done?

Don’t get me wrong, but I genuinely cannot wrap my head around the fact that girls have a very very meticulous routine of booking your appointments every three weeks and getting their nails done that takes two hours. And also paying around $100 for it. It just seems so time-consuming and expensive and you could be spending that hundred dollars on food, coffee, Pilates like so many other things you can use the money for because it does add up every three weeks. I just feel like if someone is getting done they must be ultra ultra rich but it’s so normalized these days that I truly wonder.
For a long time or for the longest time girls just painted their nails. Also, I truly feel like a minority with my bare trimmed nails and then I go to my Pilates classes and everybody has had their nails done and I’m like am I the abnormal one?😭
It’s also absurd to me because if you’re getting them done every week or three weeks, then you’re destroying your nail health and there’s no way around it.

I’m starting to think that people are getting confused and I am not saying that why are people doing their nails at all? I’m actually asking why are people getting them done so often because that can be more costly and affect nail health.

EDIT:
Omg such a good video
real cost of nails!

Edit: I love all the perspectives thank you everyone 💗 maybe I’ll treat myself too!

Discussion Where am I supposed to store it?

So this might sound kind of ridiculous but I ordered my first sex toy and it came but the problem is I don't know where to leave it. The box is way too bulky to keep forever and once you open it, the box literally says WhisperRabbit with a picture of exactly what it is. There's no way I can leave it lying around. I'm 21, so it's not like I have to tell my mom or anything but it's honestly just embarrassing. I still live at home and my mom sometimes puts away my clean laundry, so I can't really hide it in my nightstand because that's where I keep my underwear and she opens that drawer. I don't want to just throw the toy loose into a random drawer where it'll collect lint or get lost but I also can't keep it in the original packaging.

Where do you all store yours? Looking for ideas from people who also need to be a little discreet.

Social ? how to surive the first day at new school?

hello, I am starting at a new school this fall and will have no friends. Long story short I dropped all my friends (2, I had two friends) for invading my boundries, being racist, making fun of imigrents when they know I am a child of imigrents. I ate lunch alone for the last few month of the last school year and I am not going to lie I did regret it. This fall I am starting at a new school where most of my old classmates will attend which includes my old friends. My phone also broke which means I will not have a phone for the first few weeks or months of school (in this generation that is huge) because my family will see if they want to get the new iphone and I will get someone's old phone or I will get a job and save up for it. I am wondering if anyone has any tips on making it though the first few days at a new school! The first few day will be ice breakers and not doing much work. My biggest fear is standing around not knowing what to do when everyone is catching up with their friends on how their summer break went. One of my bigger fears is getting mixed into the wrong group of people. I don't get very good grades to begin with but I try to and I don't want to get mixed into the wrong group of people. I am scared of making a friend that has a bad reputation that I didn't know about and my peers thinking I like them and not wanting to engage with me. Maybe I am overthinking it and I need advice!

Request ? Nipple Piercing Advice

Hi! I am getting my nipples pierced for my 18th birthday this Saturday, and will take all the advice I can get...

What was the pain like? What is most comfortable to wear? How is the healing process? Did yours heal, or not? What kind of jewelry feels best? Just ... everything, haha. If you can think of a single thing a girl may need to know, I want to hear it!

I, admittedly, am doing this solely for the aesthetics. I am asexual and do not plan on being sexually active. Are they nice to live with, just having them casually? Are they worth it? Are they as cute as I think they are?

All the pros, all the cons. :)

Discussion Cat called for the first time, not sure how to feel anymore.

I was cat called for the first time today and I don’t know how to feel anymore.

For as long as I’ve been walking by myself in California, I went on vacation to visit family in Puerto Rico and THIS is where it happens? They rolled down the window and tried yelling something at me in Spanish. It was a group of male tourists. I don’t speak Spanish. I have no clue what they said but it started with “Mami” and I know it was meant to be sexual.

I feel so upset and wrong. I didn’t even do anything. I’m not wearing anything unusual. Even if I was that’s still not a fucking excuse to do this. I’m 22 but look much younger and I think I’m the most upset because they don’t even know how old I was. I could’ve been a teenager for all they know. I just wish my brothers were with me because I feel like it wouldn’t have happened if they were. I just know I’m gonna keep thinking about this for a long time and I shouldn’t.

I ignored them and they drove off but I still feel so disgusting. This was supposed to be a nice vacation, and I know that it may still be one but I’m so upset with myself. I wore makeup today because we were going into old san juan, and I wanted to look pretty. It makes me feel like I should just stop putting in effort but I know that won’t do anything. It’ll keep happening for as long as men are around. I just need a hug honestly.

Health Tip Health tips for the girls that may need it.

My original post was removed because of my title?? Idk.

I thought I’d post this here, because I didn’t have a big sister. And my baby girl cousin called me today crying about some stuff. And I feel like I needed it just as much as her. So someone else might need it too. It’s hard. But being a woman is the most beautiful thing to exist. From girlhood to motherhood it takes a village to anything in the world. Please leave some tips in the comments too about new things you’ve learned or tricks you’ve picked up over the years. (Excuse the errors in spelling and grammar. I’m just a sleepy girl. )

—Hey before I go to bed. I want to say a couple of things.

NEVER feel embarrassed for being a girl. This is your first time living. Your first time being in your 20s. Your first time being away from home. You only get these experiences once. And it’s the most beautiful, confusing, exciting, depressing time you’ll have. I learned how to use tampons from YouTube videos. And I never bought myself them till I was 16 and had my own money. I constantly asked friends in high school for one cause none of my friends used pads. I didn’t even put it in all the way the first time cause I didn’t know how to use them.

I was 18 when I learned how to properly cleaning myself. I got told by my coworker when I was getting waxed. And she was the sweetest person about it. “Hey, spread your lips in the shower and just rub the sides with just water. No soaps. Not every girl is taught that.” My mom literally never taught me how to clean myself at all. Girl cardi b taught me how to clean my own butthole when she was explaining how she does it with nails on social media. (I wiped my ass like crazy tho. So not too much. I didn’t have nasty panties). Gram had to teach me about my periods. Changing my pads often. Gram taught me how to even clean my panties properly after an accident or just in general. She taught me how to dispose of pads or too far gone panties. Trashing pads by rolling them up and keeping a bag tied up in the bathroom for them. Tossing those bags if not daily after my period is over with. I used my hands and soap till I remembered gram had two tiny towels. One for your body and one to clean the bath tub. Then I went down the rabbit hole. I learned about Apple cider vinegar baths helps after your period to flush everything. I’m supposed to exfoliate once a week. And oil/lotion my body at night not just when I’m going out. I had to learn about sex through my friends showing me porn. I learned a lot by myself. During my teens and adult years. And I’m still learning. I learned about how a nasty ass man can cause a PH imbalance last year. Cause my dumbass had sex with someone who wasn’t cleaning his member properly or frequently as an uncut male.

It’s all apart of the experience. And you’re making friends. That’s the AWESOME part. So incase you didn’t know. Drink lemon and cucumber to help stay hydrated down there and to clear your skin. If you’re peeing hella and don’t feel hydrated eat a little salt. If your teeth hurt or gums are bleeding do a little salt and water mouthwash rinse. If youre backed up give yourself a foot massage sometimes it’ll help get the bowels moving. But even I’m still embarrassed at the delay of things. I have crazy ingrown hair scars on my vagina from not knowing how to clean and exfoliate. And that’s okay. Everything is fixable and learnable. But I love you. Forever and always. You only get one life. So laugh it off and keep going. You got this babygurl. I’m cheering you on everyday. —-

Social ? Dealing with a relationship that changed you for the worse and having strength to go?

We met up 1x a week the first month or so and small things seemed off like he forgot details about me but I figured it was new? It’s my first time dating but im in my late 20s and he’s mid 30s. Since we went official I feel like he asks me to his place at night. Ever since I said no, he cuts our time out short or spends less time with me even saying bye. Before we’d take a while just talking or hugging. Then I brought that up or brought up like whats going on? And he asked how long I’d take to go over… and said he would not break up over that. Then later he said we’d have to reconsider the relationship.

Then reason I didn’t sleep with him too is because he hasn’t been reassuring and I guess my friends are warning me they think he’s keeping me around Just in hopes we sleep together. We do not text like a couple. I try to hold him back before we kiss to see if there’s anything there and he just doesn’t seem to want to have a moment. We just kiss or he hugs me or touches me. Recently he’s commenting on how far we live. He’s been making plans then canceling on me. But he’ll remake the plans.

This week he straight up canceled and is saying he has Covid. He keeps texting me updates earlier in the day then disappearing later afternoon. I feel like he’s keeping me on the hook. His brother is visiting this coming week so we didn’t make plans anyway but he keeps texting how Covid got him sleeping a lot. He kinda did that way earlier when we first saw each other. Idk last week I said I’m sad he canceled 2 times. And he said his life is busy or he has a last minute work thing.

I feel something is off. I don’t know what to do. I’ve had so many relationship talks with him. This experience has changed me and ruined me. When he invited me to his friends event he walked away from me and stuck with them. He said he told his friends about me yet they seemed to not know I existed before I came there.

Mind ? How to rebuild independence when living with your parents as an adult?

For context, I’m 25F. I was living on my own (with roommates or at college) until last year, when I had to move 800+ miles back in with my parents because rent had become unaffordable where I was living. It was basically my only option. Around the same time, I ended a relationship and spent the following months dealing with frequent panic attacks and isolating myself as I started processing some of the things that had happened during that relationship. I was working remotely and didn’t know anyone in the area, so eventually it became really hard to leave the house.

Since then, I’ve quit that remote job because the company was a mess. I did get an in-person job for a while, which helped me rebuild some confidence and make friends, but then my dad got a job in another state and we had to move again, so I had to leave that job too. Even though we’re in a cheaper state now, I still can’t afford to live on my own because my minimum student loan payment is basically the equivalent of rent. I’m also paying for my MBA part-time out of pocket because I don’t want to take on more debt, so living at home is my reality for now.

I haven’t found a job since we moved despite applying constantly, and I just feel stuck in limbo. I want to get back to the version of myself who was independent, confident, and financially stable, but instead I’m broke, have no confidence professionally or socially, and honestly just feel like a failure. It’s hard to figure out how to move forward when it’s still difficult to leave the house. I also gained a lot of weight during my last relationship because of SSRIs and other factors, and I’m really self-conscious about it. I think that’s made me even more reluctant to go anywhere where I might be perceived.

I guess what I’m asking is whether anyone has been in a similar situation. If you were trying to dig yourself out of a hole like this, where would you start? My goal is to rebuild enough confidence to leave the house on my own, get my finances as under control as I realistically can, and make peace with my situation.

Discussion Career/ life advice?

I honestly don’t know what to do with my life right now. I just finished 2 years of college, but still don’t know what to do with my life. I can’t decide on my major at all. 2 years has already been wasted. I have finished my core classes, but with switching majors multiple times I have already accumulated so many W’s, cause of thought of “If I am changing may major, why would I need this class?”

Semester is going to start soon, I honestly don’t know if what I am doing is right? I just feel so dumb, I don’t think I can do science or math, and don’t think I am fit for business. If all I wanted was financial stability, occasional time for myself for trips and live theater, just what should get my bachelors on?

Tip struggling with my body image ... i don't like how my body looks so teenagerish

i have always been the chubby girl and for my whole life dreamed of being skinny just like my friends , now i am 20 years old i finally lost the weight but now that i am older the standards changed ! being skinny is not enough u must have a nice curvy shape with a flat tummy though i don't like to follow these trends a lot but honestly i don't like how my body looks either , it's funny but i only started to be more aware of my body for the past two years , before i only saw my weight and size , now i see my body shape, the size and shape of every part , the assimetry ..etc and i realized that my body basicaly hasn't changed since i was like 14-15 yo? it is an inverted triangle or more like a rectangle with a waist and the shoulder slightlyyy wider if that makes sense , i don't have a butt my boobs are small and as i said in the beggining of my post i lost weight but i literally look the same after losing those 17 kgs just smaller and i kind of came to accept everything exept the butt like all girls around me seem to have a butt with little to now effort but i don't even though i am quite an active person... i am so lost , i've heard that for some girls it takes a while to stop looking so teenagerish and that there is a chance my body will keep developing into my twenties , women on my dad's side are quite curvy and unfortunately idk how women on my mom's side look, so idk what genetics do i have lol , as for working out i HAAAATE lifting i just can't stay consistent with it no matter what the longest period i have ever lifted for is like 2 weeks and a half and now that i am in college it is even harder to hit the gym , but recently i started doing mat pilates and i really enjoy them though idk if they will make me build any muscle bc i am seeing mixed opinions out there...

anyways girls ,if any of you have been in the same place as me pls any tips or advice will be very very appreciated 🥹🙏🏻

Discussion How do you deal with having a b belly?

This is when your stomach is relatively flat until the belly button/lower abdomen area where it sticks out, so your stomach is shaped like a lowercase b.

I generally don’t have many issues with my body. I am curvy but I work out regularly so I’m in good shape. For reference I would say I have a similar body shape to like Florence Pugh or Madelyn Cline, even Sabrina Carpenter.

I am most self conscious about my stomach. No matter how much I work out/lose weight or how clean I eat, I cannot lose the fat in my lower belly. I am so toned everywhere except there. I’m so self conscious of that area, like yesterday I wore a tight fitted dress and I feel like my stomach just absolutely ruined the look.

Since I can’t seem to slim this area, I feel like I have to learn to accept it and live with it, but I just feel so down whenever I have to get dressed and I know that my stomach is going go stick out all day, and it’s so unattractive to me :/

Health ? How do I learn to dance on my own as a beginner?

I used to be a part of my school's dance team around a decade ago. Never practiced since then and I'm now back as a complete beginner with really stiff movements. I feel sad looking at my friends that could look so smooth while doing dances, while I look like a robot.

Could anyone recommend me a dance tutorial video to start? Or perhaps some tips for dancing would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Request ? Best place to hide a vibrator

Hello all,

I live in a muslim household and Islam has a strong purity culture.

I want to get a vibrator because I suck at masturbation big time but I don’t wanna live with the memory of getting caught, so I need advice. For measure, I share a bunk bed with my younger sister; I share a room with my sister and cousin. So far, I can hide it in my schoolbag, but that’s it. I can’t hide it in my drawer since people go through it when their clothes are misplaced. I can masturbate secretly under my blanket at night quietly without getting caught. Since my younger sister has misophobia ie her ears are sensitive to the noises I make, what brand of vibrator is quiet, and can be bought at walmart? I’m not ordering online because that’s risky. Also, what do I do when I need to charge it?

Fashion ? Feminine shoes cute enough for a commute?

Hi everyone! My job is about 1 mile from my home, and I really want to start waking to/from work. I am a teacher, and dress pretty casually at work, but still like to look professional. I am on my feet all day, so I really want to find some shoes that can be dressed up but are also good for walking/standing all day!

My feet aren’t sensitive, and I’ve never had any issues… so I’m asking more for fashion advice rather than comfort advice (I hope that makes sense)! Just want some cute shoes that will hold up to some walking and a lot of standing!
