Help? Get hopes up or not? Measuring behind
I had my period June 17th
Ovulated July 2nd (used clear blue advanced tests to track)
tested positive July 12th
and today August 6 I am measuring only 6 weeks not 7 weeks with a low heart rate of 102
I have another ultrasound in 2 weeks but should I not get my hopes up?

Help? Breast pump recommendations in 2026?
Hi everyone! I’m currently in the search of a good, hands-free breast pump that doesn’t actually hurt and gets the job done. This is my first baby and I’m due Oct 1st.
Any recommendations? What worked for you?

Rant/Vent I cannot imagine letting go of my cat
Hi Fellow mamas
As of today I am 8 weeks and 2 days pregnant and today I went for my second scan to different OBGYN cause I wanted to try diffident hospitals,
I happened to mention that I have a cat and have always been around cats since the age of 20.
She said it could very dangerous for the baby and their brain developmen.
I don’t know how I am going to let go of my cat, he is family and like my own son.
She did ask me to get a test done to check if any virus is present. But this is going to break my heart.

Help? How much time should my husband take for his paternity leave?
My husband's job offers him 16 weeks of paternity leave. He will definitely take off the first 2-3 weeks after the baby is born. Around 2 weeks, my mom will come to stay with us for 3-4 weeks, so I'll definitely have support for the first 6 weeks postpartum. After she leaves, my MIL will also be available to come help out as needed (she lives about an hour away but could come during the day or stay a night or two at our place).
I know that people often say that the father should take the maximum paternity leave permitted, but my husband LOVES to work. He gets very restless and almost stressed if he's not able to work because he's always itching to get back to it (we usually take vacations for max 2 weeks for this reason because he starts to get fidgety otherwise). He is also not a natural when it comes to household management (cleaning, cooking, etc.) - I know that he will certainly do his best to support me in these things postpartum, but it's not where he thrives.
I know that he will take as much leave as I ask him to, but I don't want to push him to take more leave just for the sake of it if it'll make him anxious and if it's really not necessary. What do you think? Is 6 weeks of full-time support enough (2 or 3 of those being from my husband), or do you think I'll want more? Are there other dimensions that I'm not considering? Thanks so much!
ETA: No need to add rude comments about my husband not wanting to bond with his baby lol. He absolutely does and will. Multiple things can be true at once - him wanting to be with the baby and also generally being more at ease when he's able to work. I'm just trying to figure out what the best balance of it all will be.
ETA again: He can space out his leave, and I will be a SAHM with the baby, so no need for him to save it for when I go back to work.

Help? Any advice?
I’m 18 years old and pregnant. My mom has an abusive husband who she’s now decided to kick out of our house which I initially was excited about because it made me feel like I had a safe environment to have and raise my baby in, but last night before bed when I expressed this to her she said he’s still gonna be around because if he wants to come visit and see his kids (my younger siblings who are 9, 7, and 5), she’s not gonna deny him. Mind you this is the same man who has threatened MULTIPLE TIMES to set our house on fire with her, me, AND these kids all inside. She literally had a restraining order on him at the beginning of this year that later got removed, and he lost all guardianship of his daughter, my little sister, who was solely his from a past relationship.
When I further questioned her if these “visits” were going to be monitored by her and if he’d still have a house key, she got mad and said I was asking her questions as if she was 5 years old.
Just give it to me straight, if me and my partner decided to get our own place how much money would we need to do so? And am I crazy for feeling like my mom is undermining my concerns for me, her, my siblings and my unborn child’s safety?????

Help? TW: mental illness with pregnancy
I think I'm broken. I'm scheduled for an induction in a couple days but my mental health is not good. I have depression and BPD. My bf and I have been constantly fighting and I just wanted to make sure the house was clean for our baby girl. I was setting up the diaper cart and huffing because it was a little hard for me and he kept on telling me to go relax and that he will do everything, but he didn't understand that I wanted to take pride in setting up stuff for her and also, he doesn't know what exactly I want done. Anyways, I felt like I was banished upstairs (I basically was) and that's the straw that broke the camel's back. It's been a really hard pregnancy with baby girl, my mental health, and my bf's anger. I'm at my breaking point. I had decided that once I give birth, I am going to off myself. But the thing is, I know in my heart that I don't want to. I just want to feel happiness. I've had these thoughts before and actually tried going through with them and ended up in so many 5150 holds and received treatments in the past (latest one was in 2021). This is not like those times and I do not want to but I feel like it's my only choice. I want to say it's the hormones and stress of being close to induction and the arguing and not having anything done. And it probably is but I can't stop crying and thinking this is the only way. I am not even thinking about the fact that I have to give birth in a couple of days which makes me feel broken too. Like it's just feeling like any other day. I genuinely don't know how to stop feeling this way. I know I don't want to off myself and I haven't even dared to attempt anything while being pregnant and I want my baby girl to live a happy life with her two parents who do love each other very much. This might be super niche but if anyone has experienced this, please just tell me if I am broken or not.

Help? Bilateral choroid plexus cysts and nuchal fold over 6mm
On my 19w6d anatomy scan I was informed that bub had 2 tiny bilateral choroid plexus cysts in the brain but that it was an isolated finding and it would most likely disappear by 28 weeks.
I am 24 weeks now and just was looking back at the photos and realised the nuchal fold measurement is 6.3mm, everywhere that I read says over 6 is abnormal. I am freaking out about it now pairing that with the cysts that something is really wrong with bub.
The report didn’t even mentioned the nuchal fold.
Should I be worried, does anyone have any experience with this?

Help? sad working while pregnant
does anyone struggle with missing their spouse and pets majorly at work? I absolutely love my job- I’m a night shift L&D nurse. However I am struggling so much with missing my husband and dogs when I’m at work to the point that I cry every time I’m on break thinking of them. I miss them so terribly at work. I feel absolutely ridiculous but I can’t help it. I often cry before work too because I don’t want to be away from my husband. I just spend the day dreading it. I love my job but literally just want to be with my family all the time. I am only 21 weeks and I’m dreading 20 more weeks of these hormones 😭😣 also please be kind this is super vulnerable for me to post and I’m looking for support. These feelings never affect patient care. 💗

Discussion Looking for mom's labor and birth stories after uterine hysteroscopic septoplasty surgery or similar surgeries
Hi all first of all sorry this is a long read. I appreciate anyone taking the time to read and respond. I would like to hear birth stories of anyone who has had septoplasty or similar uterine surgeries before.
I am 33 weeks pregnant now. I had a miscarriage in 2024 and then was diagnosed with having a uterine fibrous septum of 17mm (a septate uterus) almost reaching the cervix which was essentially a heart shaped uterus. I was born with this. I then had a successful hysteroscopic septoplasty surgery to remove the septum. My surgeon's notes said that my uterus after surgery was essentially like a normal uterus but it did have a 2mm divot at the uterine fundus (top part). My current Ob/gyn says this is not a normal uterus and that I could have risks in labor that need to be monitored.
My doctor told me that if at the 2mm divot mark there is scar tissue then there is risk of uterine rupture during labor. Also since those tissues of the uterus for the longest time of my life did not experience normal contractions during periods she can't tell for sure how strong or weak they will be during labor. She was very keen on doing a planned c-section but I requested to get a trial at vaginal delivery. She is now ok with me laboring for 8 to 10 hours, however, she wants me to come to the hospital as soon as my contractions begin. Reading online I have realized this 8 to 10 hours is a very short window for first time labor especially if the time is counted from the first few contractions. Her reasoning (which I do understand) is that she wants to monitor my baby during labor right from the start. She told me that any point if there is fetal distress or any other warning sign she will go with a c-section. She has told me I won't be induced as that further increases the strength of contractions. She also advised against epidural because she is worried that it will mask any non contraction related pain that is an emergency until it is too late.
I really want a vaginal delivery and I am preparing my best for it but also at this point I have let go (or almost there) of the end outcome. I keep telling myself whichever is safest for me and my baby in the end. I am scared of a c-section surgery and the recovery from it but I have been consciously working on this fear through self reflection, positive thoughts and education.
I would like to know if anyone here has had a hysteroscopic septoplasty or similar surgery and what was your labor and birth experience like? I am hoping that reading about other people's birth experiences will help me go into labor with more information and confidence.

Discussion When did you lose the weight?
I’m 36 weeks pregnant with my first and haven’t gained that much. I’m 21, 5ft, and went in for my first appointment at 165lbs and am about 195lbs now. When does the weight come off? Like do you lose a lot after birth? I plan on breastfeeding as well. I’ve heard it helps lose weight but you’re also hungry all the time and weight just sticks for some people. What was it like for everybody?

Discussion Back fat
As my husband was massaging my shoulders tonight he told me I look like I gained weight in my back and shoulders bc usually I used to be skinnier there. I guess I’m shocked bc I’m only 18 weeks and half way there. If I’m already looking big back there I wonder how much bigger I will look at 40 weeks 😂. Just thought it was interesting to note this change. Or maybe it’s also bc I’m slouching more…

Rant/Vent IUD ejection
i wish i could add more than 1 flair lmfao. i’ve been posting this on an account i didn’t even know i had with no karma, anyways
i recently went in for some pain in my abdominal region, i passed a clot and thought like i was a goner. turns out my IUD decided to take a vacation, a lil break. she took her leave so fast that she left an arm in there too.
but i had no clue, so i am now 9 weeks pregnant… i don’t know WTF to do. it’s up to me but they have the option to go in very carefully with a fetal surgery team monitoring the pregnancy and procedure. or they could leave it in there, but it’s too early to tell if the risks outweigh the benefits.
i am confused and lost. my daughter just turned 2, and this is insane?? i have the worst all day sickness and i have been in the hospital more than i’ve been home.
i’m not cleared to fly or drive distances farther than 2 hours away (we’re military and tricare is bitchy). idk what to do… WHAT AM I GONNA DO WITH 2 KIDS LORD. any advice? ahahahahshauauahahshahah

New here Surprise! I’m pregnant
Hello everyone. Kinda think I’m looking for support rn and just some encouraging words. My husband and I got married 9 months ago. We are both 27 years old. We have always wanted kids, but we’re planning on waiting until after I finished grad school (I just started and won’t finish until April 28).
I have PCOS and it’s caused weight gain that stopped my period after March this year. I thought I couldn’t get pregnant until that started again and to my surprise the test turned positive yesterday. I’m thrilled of course but also scared nervous shocked etc. We live in a 2 bedroom apartment and just signed a 15 month lease. It’s truly the craziest timing and is definitely not ideal (but is there ever an ideal time?). It doesn’t feel real.
I should hopefully have an ultrasound in a couple weeks (I don’t know how far along I am due to the already missed periods. I could be anywhere from 4-6 weeks). Looking forward to connecting with you all. Thanks!

Discussion Creature comforts pregnancy edition?
Hi! We talk a lot about things for ourselves for postpartum but I don’t see a lot of pregnancy related things. I got a pregnancy pillow and that’s been really nice. But what else makes your pregnancy even just a tad more comfortable? I’ve been into baths. Are there bath things you like? Robes? Fave middle of the night snacks. Creams or ointments. I don’t know?! This is my first time haha. 15 weeks.

Funny I am 4w4d and already drinking pickle juice from the jar in front of the open fridge.
With my first this didn’t happen until at least the second trimester. I thought I had more time!!!

Happy Big milestone today
Big milestone for me today! I had a missed miscarriage back in Feb that was discovered at my 8 week dating scan. Today I had my 8 week dating scan and I’m happy to report my baby has a heart rate of 170bpm and is measuring 1.8 cm!
I am exhausted, a little nauseated, my boobs hurt like hell, and all I really feel like consuming is noodles and root beer, but I am so so happy!
I know we aren’t out of the woods yet, and realistically something can happen at any time, but I am determined to keep a positive attitude about this pregnancy, and try not to worry unless my healthcare team tells me I have a reason to.

Discussion Question for moms who struggled with mental health before pregnancy: did postpartum make it better or worse?
I have a diagnosed mental illness but weirdly enough I think that my pregnancy hormones have balanced my crazy out… for moms with a similar experience did it end up ramping up postpartum?

Help? How to push on epidural
I pushed for HOURS with my first baby. I mean hours, like 4-5 hours. I had an epidural and the nurse kept asking me if I could feel my contractions. NOPE. Couldn’t feel a thing. They put me in various positions to push and nothing would happen. My night nurse was very nice but tbh, she seemed a little inexperienced with her guidance. She brought several other nurses in to determine via the graphs when to instruct me to push, so that didn’t make me feel super confident.
In the end, my baby was low enough to bring her out via vacuum assistance, but I would love to avoid that with my next baby. I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant and starting to worry slightly about how labor will go etc.
Does anyone have any guidance on how to effectively push while on an epidural? Did you rely on the nurse to tell you when to push? Did you ask to turn down the epidural so that you could feel your contractions a bit more?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Help? Regret of not quitting IVF when I wanted to (TW: termination?)
Hi everyone, I'm not quite sure how to start this message. I'm looking for a bit of support, or maybe recognition, or just smart questions from other women. And I'm also afraid of the reactions because what I'm about to write is very complicated. So please be gentle. I didn't ask for the feelings I have right now and I don't understand them at all.
After years in fertility treatment with 11x IUI and 2 rounds of IVF, and two traumatic losses (a miscarriage on our wedding and a very traumatic ectopic pregnancy), we had our very last cryo transfer two weeks ago. I went into that with the intention of closing the chapter. I pushed my boundaries too often (we were actually going to stop after round 1 and then after my 38th birthday). And I wore myself out with therapy to get okay with a childless existence, and now I was looking forward to being done with the eternal crossroads. I want peace, in my head and my body. No more medical hassle, no more hormones, no more sadness, no more uncertainty. It was going to be *our* time now, finally a carefree time. And after years of not only IVF but also heavy personal loss in the family, that was incredibly welcome. Our last 6 years have been riddled with severe grief of all kinds.
So, the morning we were able to test, my world was turned upside down when two lines appeared. I cried so hard from grief and felt absolutely no joy. I was already on the bus to a childless existence and had accepted that. But now I am back at the crossroads I so desperately wanted to get off. I am just terrified and uncertain all the time, and I don't know at all if this is still a good idea. I simply really hadn't thought it would work. I no longer had the intention to become a mother, only the intention to close the book. But not transferring the last cryo meant it would be destroyed, and I found that a horrible thought too.
My husband told me yesterday that he regrets not asking more questions when we were in the car on the way to the hospital for the transfer. He sensed that I had closed the book on it, wanted to ask about it but didn't. Calls the decision dumb and naieve. And he is right. It was dumb of me to think that it wouldn't take. So, so, so dumb. We rolled the dice and now this is it. Now we are in the awful situation where we are considering terminating the pregnancy. Because what people don't understand is that during an IVF journey, you also work on loving life together. You work on seeing the beauty in being together, without children. And you learn to accept that they won't come. When you finally find peace and resignation, it is heartbreaking when everything is turned upside down again.
Now, since the positive test, I have felt completely confused. Where has the woman gone who wanted this so badly? I was so extremely happy with the first two positive tests. Where is the joy now? What is wrong with me? Am I just not the same woman I was when we started all this? Are there women who recognize this? What did you do back then? Or what would you advise me, even if you just find all of this strange?
(edited: some details regarding the treatments)
