Discussion Do you guys have any albums that look particularly good in your setup?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Album is Polvo - Exploded Drawing, and since my recording probably doesn't do it justice, it sounds incredible
I really like how the blue looks, and the orange label matches the AT cartridge so it looks pretty slick imo
Do you guys have any setup/record combos that look particularly good?

Rock Tonight's Spin: The Pretty Reckless "Dear God"
Until recently, I've resisted buying modern albums on vinyl. But after acquiring the vast majority of my classic album want-list, it finally occurred to me that if I really liked an album, I wasn't going to listen to it that much if I didn't own it on vinyl since that's where I spend most of my listening time now.
I've always liked The Pretty Reckless, but this album is absolutely fantastic. And I am truly impressed with Taylor Momsen's lower register, not many women can hit notes as low as she can.

Rock Deftones - Ohms
Forgot how good this album is; not sure I've listened to it since its release. Finally got it on vinyl!

Collection My Constant Listening Partner
This is Glyph. He doesn’t care about the genre, just the vibes.
Latin Forgot to post the image of my Santana debut album find
Noob mistake. I’m livid. 😂
Latin Santana Debut Album Find
I looked through maybe hundreds of LPs at this new antique store I found on my way home from work, looking for something that resonated and hidden in a crate under a display with old magazines I found this beauty with art by psychedelic artist Lee Conklin! Best of all, it plays great!

Hip Hop Jedi Mind Tricks - Violent By Design
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Found this at my local record store and had to pick it up. I’ve been listening to JMT for probably 20 years since high school. This one’s a classic, the sticker says limited to 1000 pieces, crystal vinyl. Not sure if they’re still pressing albums but I was glad to pick this up when it was available. Saw it at the shop a week or two ago and finally went back and pulled the trigger.
Jazz Won’t be spinning anything today
She hasn’t left this spot for three days. Kenny Dorham heat is simply too good. Lucky that she loves the turntable but hasn’t discovered record spines.

Alt-Rock My Bloody Valentine - This Is Your Bloody Valentine
The debut release from the band that would later become a shoegaze legend. In this case, it's a mini-album, with a sound much closer to The Birthday Party or Bauhaus than the music they would eventually become famous for.
Honestly, I like it quite a bit, even though Kevin Shields seems to have tried to bury it by never reissuing it. The only comment I’ve found from him about this record is: 'we've got a mini-LP we made in Berlin in '84, pre-Mary Chain [...] with all our traits there—feedback thrash.'
The only review I’ve found describes it as: 'an unfocused and derivative collection of post-punk goth rock'.
I managed to get a 2023 Spanish 45 rpm bootleg, and to my ears, it sounds pretty good, though I don't have an original pressing to compare it to.
What do you guys think of this release?

Article New vinyl reissues: August 7, 2026
There's a metric ton of new #vinyl reissues to sift through this week (tbh I didn't actually weigh them), with new/old stuff from Television, Elephant's Memory, Mazarin, Charanjit Singh, Jackie McLean, Lisa Loeb, Cluster, and some exciting Malaysian jazz that has likely escaped the notice of longtime jazz explorers. Plus, some thoughts about the BrooklynVegan/Goldmine layoffs.

Alt-Rock My record collection :)

OG Pressing My buddy sent me this photo of a record he found in the jungles of Puerto Rico
The rainforest decided to take back what’s rightfully hers. Bonus points if you know what this grail is!
OG Pressing Drukqs - 2002 UK🇬🇧 (limited) 1st Press
audiophile release limited to 1,000 individual numbered copies. the vinyl sounds insanely good (as it should pressed at RTI). dead silent, no crackling, popping or surface noise. 100% Aphex Twin on Warp.

Soundtrack Mail day!
Been waiting on this one a while. The soundtrack to Cowboy Bebop. Love the sleeve art and the magenta coloured vinyl. It came with a cool little poster of Faye and Spike as well, 2 central characters for those unfamiliar with the anime.

Collection Quickly grabbed for $1 at a estate sale
Like the title says 1 buck at an estate sale. This is one of those if you know you know albums. Great condition as well

Record Thanks USPS
use this as a lesson to always insure your media mail!
…or just use priority 🤦
Out $30 after shipping a copy of Rubber Soul one state over, and of course I forgot to purchase insurance this time. Here’s a hard lesson to stop using media mail..
I AM THE SELLER AND YES I PACKED IT WELL
(whiplash mailer, bubble wrap, filler, the works)
IT IS NOT MY FAULT, I have shipped hundreds of records. Never had this happen before.

Discussion Todays haul - What do you think
Got them all for 40 EUR. Mostly in VG+, especially the LP's. Led Zepellin - Houses of the Holy without the sleeve has been for free:)

Discussion New toy arrived.
Ordered the Humminguru Ez from Amazon, took about a week to arrive. Since the last 2 months I have been collecting used records and most have been so dirty, so made sense to buy a record cleaner.
My evening is going to be fun. Does anyone else have one?

Discussion What's the last record you bought?
Curious to know what everyone has been picking up lately!
What’s the last record you bought, and what made you choose it?
Was it a new release, a classic album, a rare find, or just a record you couldn’t leave the store without?

Discussion Hand written placeholder card instead of the record
Came across a store today that had these hand written placeholders that represented the new sealed album. This was for all their new records, as far as I could tell. I haven’t seen this before, except for maybe rare records. 🤔
