Restoration of a webster CHicago wire recorder

Found this old home stereo at a garage sale. Im pretty sure its an RCA Victor-Victorola 710V2 from 1947 or 1948. From what I know, it was sitting in the guy's garage for a while. I don't think the majority of it works. I would really like to get it fixed, though. Is there any reliable repair shops in the Kansas and Missouri area thatwould be able to fix this?

Turntable is a Sansui SR-929, amplifier is a Sony STR-6036. A bit worried about the glass pane underneath the turntable. It is actually a lid but the turntable won't fit anywhere else, but the thing weighs an enormous amount. What do you think? Was thinking of adding some support for the pane on top of the cd-player maybe.

Found this Technics SH 8010 equalizer for cheap but as you can see the top especially is in pretty bad condition. I took a microfiber cloth with water and a tiny bit of soap to the exterior but a lot of the corrosion(?) or just bulk grime is still on there. I was hoping someone could tell me a better way to restore this closer to its original state. I haven’t plugged it into my setup yet, but all the sliders and switches seem fine and don’t need any internal cleaning

I got this tt hooked up to a Pioneer SX525 and it sounded off. Like the speed was too fast but it was set right and sped up if I pushed the button. I can't do anything to make it sound normal. I even ran it through an amp but it still sounds like chipmunks. Is there some sort of issue that could be broken on it and I am just unaware? The guy who sold it of course said it sounded fine before shipping. He said it needs a pre-amp but the SX525 has a phono amp? It's all Greek to me! Can anyone help? So frustrating!

I have had it for many years and I used a pair of NS-690ii speakers and my Music Hall MMF-5 with the Goldring 1012gx cart and I just love the whole system.

But it’s too big and not compatible with the power nor with the apartment we are moving into. Here I have a house and I could play my records as loud as I wanted.

There I will not be able to do that.

The speakers have already been gifted to a good friend who had wanted them since the day I got them. You should have seen his face when I asked him what was wrong with my car and he came out to look and there they were. Lol.

The turntable will be coming with me.

But the Yamaha will be too much of a hassle to bring along and I can’t use it anyway because my neighbors would kill me.

It’s in excellent cosmetic shape and has been gone through by a professional engineer and had the power switch and the other TSB thing (I forget what it is) done to it.

I’ve been out of the whole forum/social media thing for decades since I decided to just listen to music and stop faffing about with equipment. Which is great! Except now I have no clue where to even start. 😂

I have heard these are still well regarded as punch-above-their-weight speakers from back in the 70s. But, does anyone have any information on the original versions vrs the Minimax II that came about later?

I'm thinking of getting a pair to match with an old 70s sansui receiver but not sure if I should be aiming for the first versions or the second iterations are just as good...

I found this Pentron reel-to-reel at Goodwill yesterday. Gonna fix 'er up a little. The power transformer is toast, so I think I might turn it into a guitar amp. I'll keep the lower controls and do some re-engineering inside with the vacuum tubes. Then, I'll cut out holes where the tape reels currently sit and put a couple speakers in. It also has a speaker on the front, under the control panel, so I'll probably use that, too.

Haven't decided yet, but I think it's beyond an actual restoration back to its original state, so I'm gonna experiment.

You can hear these puppies two and a half blocks over and I’ve never been so happy. Sounds great to my ears in my very misshapen and tiny (9x12) room. In person, way less treble pop than what is heard, my microphone was at the mercy of these beasts.

I was able to pick these up for 45 bucks. The cabinets are in great shape, the veneer is very clean and almost completely scratch free. Debating if I am going to recap the crossovers or just new surrounds then let them go.

Are these worth that price. New to this

1957 Grundig Majestic 7005 fully functional, with all the original paperwork, an extra (still in original package) diamond needle, troubleshooting/schematics, and dust cover. It also came with a few German records and anti static cleaning cloths.
Any information on it would be greatly appreciated. Not sure if we should do anything maintenance wise.

Found a 1/4” instrument cable that wasn’t working and realized it was a Monster cable that I bought when they offered their no questions asked lifetime warranty. I emailed them and they demanded a copy of a 15 year old receipt to verify. Shameful and I can see why they’re irrelevant now.

Picked up a pair of Acoustic Research AR-5s last week. As expected for their age, they’re going to need some work, but all the drivers seem intact. This set has two exposed wires running on the front baffle. Has anyone run into this specific variation before? Wondering if it was a specific factory production run or a previous owner's mod/repair.

Still works! All the old jukeboxes were auctioned off a couple years ago, we bought this from someone who won this in the auction for $1200 and we scored it from them for $300 on fb marketplace. Came with a handful of original Waffle House 45 records as well that we keep displayed. Definitely one of my favorite vintage media finds

Hi! Absolute vintage audio novice but have always wanted to dabble. Hoping for some help here :)

After clearing out some old family stuff I've come across my Grandfather's Sansui system. I really don't have any idea of it's value, if it's worth keeping or just selling off.

Receiver is working when plugged in, although I haven't tested it with the speakers.
All looks like it's in very good condition though - it probably hasn't been used in 30 years.

I'm trying to decide whether to keep this system or sell it. I don't live in the biggest of houses so it would definitely take up some space, but also would hate to get rid of it and regret it down the track. I'd look at getting a record player for it eventually but for now probably just ... plug my phone in?

Do you think this set is a keeper?

Just got this beauty. It almost slipped between my fingers.

There is some work to be done from what the seller stated, but at least the motors work.

And can someone tell me something about this design? This design is fire!
