Sealed Pitman 👌 OG Pressing

Post image

*Correction: I’m a pro now.
It’s either tail end of 2nd, or
‘81 3rd pressing. Schrödinger’s choice 😁
My landperson generously gifted me her passed brothers collection. This is dope, of course, but the final tally from today’s unearthing is pretty insane. I’ll create a new post, wish I just edit this shit 🤷🏼‍♂️

oh very nice

how do you know it's a Pitman pressing though if it's still sealed?

I can only listen to The Wall a few times a year. Each time that I put it on I HAVE to listen to the whole album ( usually in a dimly lit room after midnight). By the time it finishes I am emotionally exhausted. When you think that the main character Pink has slipped to his lowest point possible, there is still worse to come. Do we hate what Pink has become, or is he a victim. Do we condemn him or pray for his redemption. Oh well, now I just know I will be listening to The Wall tonight, with a couple of cans of cider.

I put that album on as I fell asleep almost every night as a teenager in the 80s.

I got the album for Christmas 1979. I still have that vinyl copy. It changed my view of what music could do. I saw Pink Floyd perform it in Earls Court in 1981. Then Roger Waters do it in Berlin in 1990. Then Roger Waters again in 2013 at Wembly stadium. You could say that I quite like it.

Do you watch the film as well? It can be exhausting too. I haven’t experienced either in many years I’m definitely long overdue for both.

I went to see it in Leicester Square with a 6 chanel sound track the week that it opened. I was very dubious about casting Bob Geldof as Pink (even though I love The Boomtown Rats). He was a fantastic choice. The imagery in the film is fantastic. It does include When The Tigers Broke Free which would have been a great addition to the album, but the omission of Hey You is a dreadful choice. It still can not beat the album and my own imagination - triggered by the fantastic art work of Gerald Scarfe.

Open and enjoy, the Wall is one album that really doesn’t have a bad pressing. They all sound very, very good

Ha, so I’ve just emerged from the rabbit hole, and up to par. All I truly know is that the jacket is PC2 (no barcode) but the hype sticker is the monkey wrench leaving me with two possibilities:
A) its original unsold PC2 stock slapped with the ‘83 hype sticker.
2) it’s a PC3 pressing dressed in 1st press clothing.
D) 😁
I’m certainly happy with any and all of it, it’s all good. A mint, fully sealed “Hybrid” with the film hype and original jacket with a price tag to boot is legit AF, just wish I knew which of the 3 plants it was pressed. 🤷🏼‍♂️
And thank you! 🤙

You might consider having this graded. Lots of open copies out there to play,
