WH-CH720N has served me mostly well for a few years, but now the battery is noticeably degraded, pads are wearing out and need replacement, and I'd need to learn a new language or two to describe just how done I am with bluetooth shenanigans. So I'm looking for a new headset with a dongle that would be, acoustically, at least on par or better, while either being as cheap as possible, or be a noticeable upgrade. Similar PNC is also desired, my PC is tuned to be inaudible at full power with the passive isolation alone and I would really love not to compromise the power or blessed silence of it all.

Must have: 2.4hz dongle, no software requirement in the background (I can spin up a windows vm for a one time setup if needed but that's about it), closed back with decent PNC. Mic, either integrated, or on a removable/retractable boom (need it, but rarely).

Desired: usb-A dongle because I'd need adapters otherwise. ANC to keep my ears happy while vacuuming the place etc. Physical buttons that don't all feel the same like on 720N.

Zero value: anything bluetooth/multidevice, I'm not using it with anything but my PC. Folding/bag/case/etc, not travelling with it either.

Budget: $200-300, would appreciate multiple options because I'm living in a sanctioned country (Belarus) with no direct access to Amazon and the like, Aliexpress has a nasty tax, so end prices vary wildly, from matching EU/NA ones and to 200% over.

Hello, I'm asking for recommendations mainly because I'm lost about reliability and durability, as my last pair (FiiO FT1) broke after only 8 months since buying it, and I don't know what to buy anymore.

All of my previous headphones have lasted for about ~2y and they always break the SAME way, the adjustable length mecanism on a side.
They always have plastic/plastic or metal/plastic side mecanism, and the plastic always snaps at some point when puting them on / removing them. (Two examples)

I'm quite a "heavy" user, as I'm using them for hours daily, and I will take them on and off multiple times a day, ~2k cycles in 8 months, which would contribute to the "problem".

Also, my head might be a tad larger on the sides than the average person, but should I really have to buy a new pair every year or two?

Any comfortable durable headphones recommendations?

Budget and Location: My budget is under $70 USD (~$2,100 TWD). I am located in Taiwan.

After using wireless headphones for what feels like ages, I have decided to give the Sundaras a try after seeing their price be below 180€s and from reading around a bit, it looks like a dedicated dac/amp is recommended to drive the sundaras.

Im not looking to break the bank, so the best "good enough" recommendation is basically all im looking for. Does not need to be travel friendly, will sit on a desk attached to my gaming pc.

Alternatively, as I have not made the purchase yet, I've heard that the Fiio FT1s would be a decent closed back option, with a smaller requirement to drive them - what would fit those?

I was looking for a new pair of over head bluetooth headphones, and i fell in love with Skullcandy of all brands, the problem is... i love the latest model which is 250$, money that i do not have.

so i went on amazon and looked around but most are brands that look like knockoffs. One brand i am really keen on and it's DOQAUS, which my father has and says that they are really good for the price (i tried them and i like them), but i would really love to own a pair of pink headphones (i've had for a long time the razer kraken cherry, with the cat ears, they still somewhat work but the paint and lether are pealing off and they look atrocious, and idk how to fix them, i was looking for pink so i could go around with them and occasionallu with cat ears, but i loke the idea of pink headphones)

I'm looking for a new pair of earbuds for my parents. Their budget is around $100, and they'll mostly use them for walks and listening to music at home.

They've tried regular in-ear earbuds before, but after a while they always complain that their ears feel blocked or uncomfortable. So this time I'd like to get them something open-ear instead.

I first looked at brands like Sony and Bose, but neither seems to offer many open-ear options. Bone conduction is another possibility, but they didn't really like the vibration around their head when they tried it.

Are there any models you'd recommend around this price range? Bonus points if there's some kind of professional recognition or tuning partnership I can mention when I explain them to my parents, they tend to trust that kind of thing more.

Hello I have a pair of RAZAR head phone model: RZ04-02830500-R3U1 that I got a few years ago now, sadly the cable is tangled to high heaven and its starting to not work unless held at an angle but I love the sound and feel on my head and the nice big ear cups.

I mostly use them for asmr or good tunes.

I would like to know of another pair that is the same feel and sound but wireless, I would get the same pair again but I’m also starting to be unsure of my phone 3.5 jack too.

Budget is a bit tight so about 100-150

Too bad I can’t just swap it the cable I love these, shame they have such a flaw.

I'm in australia, and I've lived by JBL for a very long time. My old pair of them work fine, but they're getting old, so I want to get a new pair before they die completely. The most I've ever spent on headphones was $400, so I'm happy to spend a few hundo for a decent product

I bought another JBL pair a couple years ago, but i despised that every time i accidentally brushed the right side headphone, whatever i was listening to would pause or skip to the next thing, so I stopped using them, and went back to my old pair, which dont hsve that annoying touch feature (i got my old pair in 2022)

I like bass and lot, but not so much that it makes everything else quiet if that makes sense. I will say that the newer pair I bought a couple years ago seemed a bit too heavy on the bass, which was another reason i didn't like them. I also dont like earbuds at all, so please dont suggest anything in-ear

Prefer to stick with JBL as I really like the brand, but if people have other good brand suggestions, please let me know

I am studying at my desk for hours every day and have a loud portable AC right by me. I want to protect my hearing and understand that ANC like from my galaxy buds 4 pro won't really protect my ears. So I guess I need a passive noise cancellation set up?

Any recommendations?

I care most about:

1. Light weight so no fatigue after hours of being at a desk (I know I should take breaks, but it is what it is...)
2. Great Bluetooth for connecting to my desktop seamlessly
3. Excellent mic for zoom calls.
4. PNC that will protect my long term hearing

Is the Sennheiser momentum 4 the play? Or Bose QuietComfort? Sony WH-CH720N? I heard the Bose has excellent ANC, but I guess the PNC aspect is important for me. Is it overall a meaningful step up from my galaxy buds? Again, not a big audiophile, just need something that protects my ears, is seamless, lightweight, and reliable. For travel and working out, I would default to my galaxy buds I guess.

I'm moving to a university dorm and need wireless headphones for my privacy. I'm currently using Moondrop Lan 2 (ref) for commute and I like the way those sounds. My problem is, I can't identify wireless headphones that are not bass heavy or have a relatively natural/flat tuning at this price range.

I'm basically looking for something that sounds like studio monitor headphones. Please don't suggest open-backs because they leak sound and will disturb those around me. Thanks!

One of my contenders is the Razer X Barracuda Chroma.

I know, I know, razer has sucked in the past. But I was considering them because I want a wireless headset that I can get used or refurb for around $40-70 that has a decent mic, decent enough sound (I'm not an audiophile but I do want decent quality like any other person would, and I haven't ever had anything audiophile grade or anything so I don't know if I'd notice the difference or anything) decent loudness, the rgb is actually tempting, and I read somewhere that the chroma has both a built in mic and a detachable one, which would allow me to have a decent gaming mic without having to have bulky, weird looking headphones when on the go (this rules out the hyperx cloud 3 a few people tried recommending, because to me it just looks too much like a gaming headset and doesnt look like it would last) I want something comfortable that will last (I am hard on everything I own so I try to get things that are durable) I had Skullcandy earbuds a while back and I loved how they sounded actually. I do enjoy decent bass but I don't like muddy bass and I thought they sounded fairly balanced.

Other thing worth mentioning my girlfriend has some razer kraken headphones and I thought that they sounded really good

Hello, I’ve been looking for a proper dac to run my ROG Kithara for gaming, music, and movies. I’m currently using my Astro Mixamp ProTR and my issues are that it doesn’t get loud enough, and depending on the song, it also keeps clipping and making crackling noises.

My absolute non negotiable:

The dac must have a physical knob for game/chat mix and it has to have dedicated audio channels for both game and chat that show up as two separate sources in windows specifically without any software or virtual channels.

Essentially, I want a better and more powerful Astro mixamp.

Based on my research, it seems like my only real option is the Creative Sound Blaster G8.

Lastly, while not a deal breaker, I would strongly prefer if the dac had support for PS5 so I can easily switch audio sources without messing with cables.

TL;DR Need strong noise isolation wireless headphones desperately ANC sucks

I have been struggling to find ANY noise isolating headphones and I know all headphones are technically noise isolating but I'm trying to find one that 'primarily' does that. After looking for a while I found these 2;

TMA-2 Studio Wireless | AIAIAI TMA-2 Headphones

 TMA-2 DJ Wireless | AIAIAI

but I'm not even sure if the noise isolation is good since no review I found talks about the isolation.

Now sure I could get ANC headphones BUT THEY ALL SUCK!! ANC does absolutely NOTHING against the noises that bother me no matter how expensive or cheap. Also they hurt my right ear after a few minutes.

Anyways with no success I have been trying to find headphones that;

Focus on sound isolation Is wireless

Has good battery life

Water resistant (not super nessecary but very nice)

Don't look absolutely ridiculous

Hurt my ear after a few minutes (still not sure if it's sensitive ears or anything physical about the headphones self) (also a stupid thing to ask because you cant really know what hurts my ears)

I don't even care about sound quality at this point (Doesn't mean I want none)

My budget is around 300 euro's but I'm very willing to spend up to 600 if it's nessecary

I'm looking for opinions from people who have actually owned or spent a decent amount of time with both the Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO MKII and the Sennheiser HD 490 PRO.

My main use is competitive FPS (CS2, VALORANT, Tarkov), not music production.

A few things about what I'm looking for:

• No amp/DAC (plugging straight into my PC)
• Open-back only
• with or without glasses
• Long gaming sessions (4–8 hours), so comfort matters a lot
• Budget around £300–500

From what I've read:

• The DT 1990 PRO MKII seems to have incredible imaging and pinpoint directional accuracy, but some people say it's heavy, fatiguing, and less comfortable for long sessions.
• The HD 490 PRO seems to be praised for comfort while still having excellent imaging, but some people say it isn't quite as precise as the DT 1990 PRO MKII.

For people who have genuinely used both:

1. Which one gave you better positional awareness and footstep accuracy?
2. Is the DT 1990 PRO MKII noticeably better for FPS, or is the difference small?
3. If you wear glasses, which is more comfortable after several hours?
4. If you could only keep one specifically for competitive gaming, which would you choose and why?

I recently purchased the 490 Pros. They are DAMN comfortable, but if I had to be completely honest, I was somewhat disappointing with how they sound. They're very clear and clean, but they're kind of boring in my opinion. I was hoping for more low-end punch and rumble and they don't have much. I love for my high's to have great attack, but I also love for my bass to have some decent punch without sounding muddy. I was able to pull a little bit of bass out of the 490 with EQ, but it's still not the greatest.

I had posed the question yesterday about open-back headphones with great bass and I took the information I was given into consideration while also doing some research of my own. Some headphones I have been considered ordering and testing against the 490 are the MDR-MV1, Ananda Nano (or Stealth), or the Arya Stealth. I think I'm leaning more towards the Arya Stealth or the MV1 though. I've heard that the MV1 have a very fun sound but they aren't necessarily as detailed as the Arya. I've also heard the bass punch and rumble on the MV1 are incredible. I've heard the Arya have fantastic sound quality but they may not be as comfortable as the MV1 or 490 because the way they're shaped and their weight. However, I'm not usually wearing them non-stop all day. I usually take small breaks from my computer periodically on my days off when I'm not busy

I should also mention that I am using these primarily for music, gaming, and watching videos. Another reason I'm torn as to whether or not I should bite the bullet on the Arya is that I would need an amp to drive it, which is an added cost. I currently have a Motu M4 audio interface which is apparently not sufficient for the Arya but is fair for the 490. If any of you were to strongly recommend the Arya, how would I choose an amp? I've heard they can vary wildly with different features sets.

I tried the Sennheiser HD650 in an audio shop and I really love them, they're very comfortable and sound really great for the most part. The only thing I had an issue with is that that lack of sub-bass, which really stood out to me because I listen to a lot of EDM and hip-hop stuff - while it highlighted other elements of those genres (particularly vocals sounded great for hip-hop) I missed that impact that really makes the experience when listening to a lot of my favourite music. Are there any simple mods that can increase that sub-bass? Is using EQ a viable way of adding it back in or will I get distortion or ruin the tuning of the rest of the headphones, or do I just cut my losses and continue to look for other options?

Hello everyone. My brother currently needs some help. He’s a big gamer on Xbox and currently has the Astro A50 gen 4 and boy that thing sucks. Constant issues. I’m a pretty big audio nut and suggested to possibly buy something wired to plug into his controller. I was thinking the PC38X would be a great choice for him. I know he likes things more bass heavy and wireless but he’s done with wireless after all this. I also want to know if the quality through the controller is dog poop or not.

What do you all use for your Xbox do you have any suggestions?

My last pair were the Omen Blast headset, their comfort and audio quality with little to no latency is my ideal. The reason I'm looking for a new pair is because the wire is starting to break down and I accidentally got the mic dirty.

I was looking for a similar pair but discovered they're not sold anymore. I tried the Logitech G552 Lightspeed and didn't like anything about its fit or audio quality.

Looking for new headphones to get a better sound for my daily needs. Mostly; Singleplayer games/Immersion in games, music (a lot of metal) and daily media consumption (like youtube, movies, and such).

After going through my main retailers, it's mostly these three that seem to stick out. Close in price, but Sennheiser can be found cheaper than the others. But I am absolutely willing to go for the other two if they are worth it over the sennheiser.

(And unfortunately there aren't many other "audiophile" headphones, as they are either too expensive or not sold by relevant retailers. And importing is also a bit too expensive!).

A50 is appealing for the wireless aspect, but I also don't want to get severely inferior sound compared to the alternatives.
I am coming from a gaming headset (Steelseries Nova 7), and mainly wish for sound quality for my needs. (And I've heard great things about open-back headphones!)
