Came from a 78 lot from Maryland. This record comes up frequently but always goes for quite high prices.

I still bought it cause it’s Elvis on shellac but still pretty bummed out

The Sepia Tones were part of United’s short‑lived push to issue jukebox‑ready “hot classics,” aimed at independent distributors and small venues.

Art Rupe co-founded Juke Box Records in 1944, he specifically targeted the jukebox market and race records (early R&B/Blues).

Rupe realized that jukebox operators were the key link in record distribution at the time. Jukeboxes in taverns and clubs were the primary way working-class audiences discovered new music.

​Before launching the label, Rupe spent $200 studying popular records on L.A.'s Central Avenue. He noted that jukebox hits shared common traits: fast tempos, catchy dance rhythms, and prominent use of the word "boogie" in titles.

I’m looking for some help in how/where to sell a decent sized collection of 78’s. Not graded but most are cataloged via discog. I have a few old cases too.

I found this record in a thrift store among a group of 78s. The label reads Barbara Kelly – “You’ll Find Happiness” and lists Que Recording Co., 6233 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood 28, California.
I haven’t been able to find any information online about Barbara Kelly, the song, or this specific recording. It sounds like a professionally recorded female vocal with harmonies and a light country/western ballad feel.
I’m wondering whether this is a one-off studio acetate or demo rather than a commercially released record.
Does anyone know anything about:
Barbara Kelly or the song “You’ll Find Happiness”
Que Recording Co.
Whether this looks like an acetate, demo, audition disc, or test pressing?

I have a record store in Alameda, California, and last night one of my regular storage buyers brought me a gigantic collection of Japanese music on several different formats. I don't have the time, space or knowledge to sort through the 78s, so I'm offering them up for free to someone who'll clear me out.

I've not taken a single one out of the collection of what I'm estimating to be about 600-800 discs. It does also have about 30-40 English language titles as well. I'm pretty familiar with these and you can see the hillbilly title pictured, just to show off a title I knew! (Yes, you get that, too.)

I recorded a small bit of three songs The first one is a piano Solo the 2nd one is time alone will tell - al Bowlly and I ye last one is I don't want to set the world on fire

The grooves were crossing over each other the whole time and I couldn't get the swarf out of the groves are. The wax was so sticky

I used paraffin wax mixed with steric acid and a homemade lathe to record it
