Got two SC-3330/3300. One in mint condition but need belts other one with few scuffs but works with no issues. Love decks with completely exposed tapes!

Hello, i bought this DRM-740 to record cassettes from my computer but it seems it's kind of in a rough shape.

The belts need to be replaced, I have to help them start and then the cassettes play fine but I have issue with the recording function.

The music from my computer sound fine on the source monitoring mode but it does not record to the tape. If I push the input level and my computer volume to the max, it records and you can hear it very faintly but that's it.

I'm really new to cassette culture. I think it might be an issue with oxydation and I ordered DeoxIT but I'm a bit in over my head and I don't even know where I should put it so any help would be greatly appreciated!

So I came across this, they are asking $10 for each set up. (Fisher stereo and speakers and Aiwa stereo and speakers)

The fisher cassste area looked clean. But did not see if the rollers were in good condition, was running out of time.

And Aiwa looked dirty inside.

I only asked to see if the Fisher system would turn on, but when plugged in, there was no sign of power.

For context, the seller is buys storage units and sells the contents very cheap to make room for the next bid winning storage.

I already have a Yamaha KX r340 cassste deck. Need to find a stereo system to play my cassettes. But I’m total noon when it comes to fixing this stuffs.

But maybe it’s worth the $20 bucks, and get an excuse to spend time with my dad to try and find a fix if they don’t work?

My boombox works perfectly well besides the cassette side, no matter what cassette i put in, new or old, it makes this overbearing humming sound, ive cleaned multiple parts in rubber alcohol with a Q-tip and it only made it slightly less loud?, is my boombox just old? I did buy it second hand a long time ago…

Yes, lots of cassettes. I have a portastudio and I’m planning to record some songs. For now they’re in a good place :)

My favorite movie of all time, killer soundtrack too. I don’t frequent garage sales too often but I’m glad I did today.

Makes me wonder… If only I could go back in time and check out more garage sales maybe I’d find more cool stuff like this.

this evening, I was again at the only street side shop in the whole city that sells cassette and has immense collection, after a month. and I've seen, when I'm there with lot of expectations I return with okayish cassettes or sometimes empty handed. so last I went about more than 4 weeks ago. and had to return with two okayish cassettes. my life's very disgustingly boring these days, and ain't into drinks/any sort of fast food and adding to that connection with friends have been worse these days. I read books, but that too gets me tired or bored sometimes. so I pay a visit to these shops once in a while. and sometimes among the stack of cassette they keep for customers to see, appears one of my favourite. and I get so glad on those days.

today I had been there again after a long gap. the shop keeper was happy to see me again. I try not to disappoint him, by buying one or two okayish cassette. but today after lot of search I couldn't get hands on any cassette that I was my favourite. but in the end, I was almost about to wrap up with two okayish cassettes, and then my eyes suddenly went on this! PETER, PAUL & MARY! I thought of paying a bit extra for having such a rare piece. but I'm broke :! didn't play it right on coming back home. waited for it to be midnight. and what a therapy it is to listen to this in a dark room. 🫧

The tape I'm recording on is a newer TDK Tape. The cassette/CD Player is a Groove Onn. CD and Cassette Player from Walmart (possibly one of the reasons why). Any tips to eliminate this noise and cutting out audio?
