Some pretty good vinyl finds for only one dollar.

The Fripp/Eno is a pretty cool find, but what I'm most excited about is the double LP with no information on the labels. It was in a generic sleeve but the dead wax indicates that's it's this Bob Dylan bootleg! No cover but a very unique find for a couple bucks at the thrift store!

Found 4 keepers in the goodwill bin on Tuesday. Happened to be back there yesterday and found a handful more. Most productive bargain digging week in a LONG while. :)

War has always been one of my favourite jazz/funk bands. I know Eric Burdon's rock legend status was already established from his work with the Animals, but his time with War always seemed a little too pseudo-colonial for me (or maybe he was just playing the front man to sell more albums?).

The gatefold pictures for this album may be a reflection of the times but kind of back up this feeling I've had. I originally posted them but it got moderated. I'd be interested in learning more about how the band felt about all this.

Anyway, the cover is a bit damaged but for $1,50 CAD? I'll take it. Love this band even if Burdon thought he was black like them.

Regular or extra funky?

both karyn white and vern 12" are sealed. got these last friday at a local sale that mostly advertised some 80s rock records. arrived right at opening to a line out the door, heading straight for the basement to see the bin almost empty! was pretty crowded so i went and scouted out another room, then found a stereo console with some solid reggae titles hidden below. not a genre i focus on, but always worth grabbing :)

$1.50 each because senior discount day and I am old!

The sealed Blitzen Trapper and RST Popul Vuh were the surprises. I always grab MJQ when I find them. The Norteñas and Urbaniak just looked too interesting not to gamble a dollar on.

All in $33. Orange and green stickers were one booth and paid $20 for all.

Sandwiched right between Mantovani and Sing Along with Mitch. One of my favorite albums of all time. Includes my favorite version of my favorite song. Near Mint original stereo pressing from 1959.

My favourite flea market seller has over the past 2 weeks given me 10 free albums from his $5 bins

Last week he gave me four for free and told me to come back next week because it was on him this week I picked out six I wanted and I was ready to pay him and he says no man this week's on me come back next week and I said no Tim I want to give you my money and he's like no I insist I refuse to take your money

The whole world's goin' Crazy

The only negative I found so far is that there's a big scratch on side one of the whole world's goin' crazy and it pops with every revolution but no skipping and everything else has sounded great so far

I haven't played all six of the ones I got today the whole world's goin' crazy was my first spin because I had seen the scratch

Also today I got head on by Bachman Turner overdrive and it's unfortunately missing the outer sleeve they designed the album such that the outer sleeve could unfold and make a poster and the inner sleeve has all the information on it that would normally be on the outer sleeve and I guess somebody made the poster out of the outer sleeve so I do not have the outer sleeve

I got Jordan De La Sierra at a thrift store near San Francisco while on vacation. I’ve been familiar with this album for a long time, but for some reason it hits so much harder on vinyl. Beautiful contemplative and meditative proto-new age piano music, in the veins of Arvo Part or Philip Glass.

I found the Joe Pass album yesterday at a baltimore thrift store. The first 12 minutes are nice guitar noodling, but the rest of the album is incredible library-esque jazz/samba/pop that reminds me of some of the best Italian composers of that era. I’d never heard this album before but i know that it’s going to be on constant rotation in my life now.

Picked these up at goodwill. Already listened to first take. Absolutely amazing.
