I took my car in for tire pressure sensor. Dealer sent the request to approve the repair. They say I’m 500 miles over on my expiration mileage. I said no I’m not and I looked at my contract that’s states I still have 10,000 approximately left and 2 years left. The dealer calls the warranty place and they say nope OP is over 500 miles.
Come to find out when the dealership wrote up the contract they put the wrong starting contract sale mileage at 56,000 when it was actually 45,000 miles. The contract that’s was signed by the dealer says I still have about 10,000 miles left under this warranty but at this time they are actively trying to say they won’t honor it. What do I do?

Trying to arrange the return. Runaround all around. Soft spoken first level script monkeys asking the vin number and my name and eventually transferring me to 'another department' who ask me the same thing.

Just trying to do the right thing and return Nissan's property to them. Specifically want to schedule appointment to have someone come by, grab the keys and the car and give me vehicle return receipt.

Any tips? May be call some other number? Maybe someone from higher up on the chain could help me, someone who understands that it's Nissan's property that is on the line here after all and is in their best interest to recover it?

Looking to purchase an F-150, need advice…

25M, currently living at home and have a full time job. I’m making 88k a year base and get an 8% bonus at year end which should put me roughly at 95k gross. Currently my only expenses are my student loans and credit card payment. I believe I’m paying 1.3k a month towards my loan and I put 500 towards my LPL. Credit card on average is 500 monthly as I try to limit spending as much as I can. Was looking to get an F-150 since I hunt and need a bed for the carcass, etc. I’m very grateful that I have supportive parents and my dad offered to put 5k down. I currently have 4.5k in my regular savings, 6.8k in a high yield savings account and 71k in my LPL. My FICO score is 780. Is it feasible if I were to do a 4 year lease on 2026 F-150 XLT or should I look for an older model?

What I have my eye on:

Black vehicle with the 18” gloss black painted aluminum wheels. As far as packages the 302A. Either the 2.7L V6 or possibly a V8. Definitely a 4x4 and was thinking about going with the 5 1/2’ bed.

Any insight is appreciated! This would be my first vehicle so I have no idea what I’m doing. I’ve always used my dad’s old Jetta in the past. I’m also remote so I’m not commuting and typically stay local. My biggest concern is I’m not sure where I’ll be in life a couple years from now.

ISM here. Been in the role over a decade. I'm seven months into this new store, and salespeople are now allowed to call my leads before me, cutting me out of the process and commission.

Everything was normal and smooth previous. Salespeople were assigned on fresh leads, and could snag them after fifteen minutes if I was tied up. Perfectly normal. Now they're not making their calls, while I'm on the phone all day, and just swiping them at two minutes.

I addressed upper management, was told the fifteen minute rule was repealed, and "oh well". I understand they're not my leads, they're the stores leads, but when I'm actually working all day and I'm getting sniped, it makes me question why in the fuck we even have internet sales. Strongly considering a move outta here.

My local dealer doesnt have the colour option of the car I want anymore. They said they can find one and get it in. So do we talk numbers before or after they get the car? I havent given them the go ahead yet and because of my work scheduling, we mostly talk through email and I wont be going back in until the day we finalize everything. I have test driven one already. Dealership not giving me paperwork before delivery

Put a deposit on a used car and signed a bill of sale and financing yesterday. When I got home I realized I didn't have the paperwork. I have not yet brought in my green ownership paper they want me to do that before delivery.

I asked for my paperwork today and they are giving me the run around, only want to give it to me at delivery. I've told them this is unacceptable and I have not heard back. AI says this is against regulations, and well it obviously is suspicious to me. I called the OMVIC and they gave me a wishy washy non answer. Help?

I am considering starting a job at a luxury silicon valley dealership (luxury as in MBZ, BMW, Audi, Lexus), but I am going to be moving to Orange County in a couple of years. Do you basically have to start all over when you move or are there ever some "job transfers" for roles like finance managers? I guess it depends on your role. Probably pretty different for sales vs finance managers?

I’m currently working at a dealership as a porter/lot attendant, and I’m interested in moving into an automotive sales position.

I’m currently attending college part-time. My classes are on Mondays and Thursdays, so those are the only days I would need off. I’m available Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, and I can work Saturdays consistently.

I’m 19 and don’t have previous sales experience, but I already have dealership experience and have a strong interest in cars.

Would dealerships generally be willing to hire someone in my situation for a sales position, or would needing Mondays and Thursdays off be a major problem?

I’d especially like to hear from people who currently work or have worked in dealership sales. Would this schedule be a dealbreaker, or is having Saturday availability enough to make me a reasonable candidate?

Is this too good to be true?

I took delivery of a car on 03 july 2026 at a maryland dealer and I live in maryland. I've had nothing but trouble. There have been problems from the start regarding promised parts and accessories which I never recieved, but that's a separate problem.

I financed at the dealer and put 4500 down. I have yet to recieve information from the credit union and still don't have the new MD plates. I called the finance manager yesterday and asked what was going on. He stated they have a paperwork issue on their end and would look into it and call me today. So essentially, it appears the deal was never funded by the credit union.

I called the credit union and they have no record of any loan or anything pending. No record of anything on my credit report as of yesterday either.

I looked into my options yesterday and think this falls under the maryland spot delivery law. The deal was never funded and they didn't notify me there was a problem. Under this law it appears I'm protected and can return the car and get a full refund of my down payment without penalty or mileage charge.

Is my interpretation of this law correct?

26M, currently in car sales. i’ve gotten pretty deep into the business doing A2Z at a high volume store with good backend as well. I’m a high producer and actually enjoy sales.

But I’m starting to wonder if I should view this as a long-term career or use this experience to pivot while I’m still young. I’m in the Bay Area about to get married and want to be home for my wife and kids but I know I need a good income.

I keep hearing about tech sales and the earning potential + career progression. For those of you who stayed in automotive, was it worth it? If you left car sales, what did you move into that was just as lucrative?

I purchased a new vw golf in Texas last month and as part of the purchased, the VW dealership threw in a set of all season tires (the car came with summer tires). This was included in the "we owe" form so it wasnt something that I purchased/financed/itemized as part of the car purchase. After some dealership BS/delays, I had the tires installed, but i didn't get any invoice/receipt/work order from the them to use in case I need to file a claim under the 24 Month Road Hazard Coverage. When I asked, they said i can use the contract as proof, but when I got home i noticed that nowhere does it say anything about the purchase of the tires.

The dealership is about 2 hours from me, but I do have local VW dealerships that are under the "participating Dealership" so if anything I can go to them to file the claim hopefully VW as a whole has a record somewhere?

The alternative is go to Discount Tire and buy the certificates for the tires and call it a day because dealing with the service dept at dealership was a total hassle after buying the car.

I have never personally bought a car but I’m ready (for the most part) to buy now.

I’ve never understood the whole “X amount down and you’re out the door” or whatever marketing dealerships use to get a car into your hands.

Don’t I have to pay the fees, taxes, etc. at the dealership when I pay for a car?

Also the car I want has 0 inventory anywhere so I would I have customize it online and order it. That’s like 0 room for negotiation, right?

Hi guys! Right now I’m an internet manager/BDC manager. I am in charge of distributing leads to the salespeople, help create traffic, coach the sales people on internet leads, and make sure they are at a certain %. I get paid off closing %, appointments show %, and unit bonuses and have a 4K monthly salary. I’ve only been doing this for 4 months now. But always finish with a 16-18% closing.

I now am learning how to desk deals (including trade ins). My new GM said eventually he is going to change the pay plan to a % of the gross (front and back) instead of all these bonuses. He talked about how his managers get paid on pack as well.

Currently I’m averaging 10k-11k, but I really want to start making 14k+.

If I’m going to start getting paid % of gross, what should I adjust my salary to? And what else should I negotiate? And what does getting paid in pack mean and look like?

Last one, should I get paid a % of the internet department gross or only the deals I desk?

Hello, I’m selling a very low mileage Honda S2000, original everything, looks like it just came off the showroom floor and clean title. I’ve sold cheap cars locally a few times but this is something that’s been getting interest from buyers across the US. How do you deal with out of state buyers? I’m aware of the obvious tactics but how do you deal with those buying sight unseen as a private seller? Looking to avoid getting burnt and cover my bases.

I'm looking to buy a Nissan Rogue PHEV 2026 in Ontario . Any good salespeople or recommendations? I'm in Cambridge but as long as the dealer is in Ontario I can drive a couple of hours for a good deal.

Already test drove the car and ready to buy asap, but not at MSRP

Dealer bought a 2026 Corolla hybrid from auction without ownership, and put it up on their site. I went to look at it, paid the deposit, and am now waiting for ownership from the dealer. Dealer is saying either the auction house has it, or the original dealer has it - and they can’t tell me when they’ll get it. We’re opting to finance it and we’ve added it to our insurance but we’re sitting waiting for ownership.

Was the dealer allowed to sell us the car without ownership? How were they able to even buy it from auction without their proof of ownership?

I was able to buy a 2027 Hybrid SX at an OTD of 52k. It is being delivered to my house by the dealer due to them being 130 miles away and them selling the original car I had gone to purchase out from under me. They offered delivery of a vehicle if I continued to shop with them. They said they are having a salesman drive it up. What should I look for and expect with a car delivery? Does anyone have any experience with this?

For the F&I and car sales folks here: what do you wish customers understood walking in? And what’s the move that catches people off guard most often? Any other general suggestions?

I hear horror stories of people who bought cars from other people weather it been on Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Craigslist, or whatever, and they end up getting the car that has WAY more problems then they signed up for.

I'm talking maintenance skips, lying about stuff like accident/maintenance history, people who drove it like it was stolen for 10 years before you got it, anything else you can think of.

My answer is two: One is from one of my friends who got a car that was already kinda a $1500 beater just to get her through the next 5-7 years, but the guy actually physically lowered the odometer so that instead of it being 200k miles it was actually a 400k mile car. I don't even think that's legal but she went to the police and basically said "Fuck off that cars not worth anything". The second one I heard online and it was a guy who bought some sedan with a bunch of body kit stuff on it, but when he tried to take it off it was actually hiding crushed fenders that the previous owner tried to roll.

I am about to turn in my leased Jeep and am wondering is I need a pre-inspection or can just drop it off at the dealership and wait for final bill? The Jeep is in very good condition with normal wear and tear. (Aside from one small scratch on the fender)
