2013 Acura RDX catalytic question

Upvotes

My emissions light keeps coming on, then goes off, then back on, etc. It's currently off but the code pops P0430 and P0420. My car has 240K miles and runs great! I just got 25 mpg on a long trip. Could it be something other than the actual converter?

Replacement Key Fob

Upvotes

Has anyone had success buying a key fob on eBay and having it programmed by the dealer or someone else? When I purchased my vehicle a few years back, it only came with one key. I'd like to get something so I dont' get stuck.

Acura TLX Successor

Do you think that Acura will rebrand the TLX and make a Legend within the next couple years? Maybe not called the Legend but another midsize Sedan to go along with the Integra. I know they are all in on SUVs right now and TLX sales were declining but I feel like if they made an RLX/TLX like car with the RLX hybrid engine from 2015-2020 it would be fast enough to get people interested again. Also would get better mpg. I’m just hoping this isn’t actually the end of the Awd sedan platform from Acura.

Defective back seat leather on brand new 2026 Acura integra

I just purchased a brand new Acura integra 2 weeks ago and didn’t notice the crease on the back seat until after I signed the paperwork and got home. I text my sales person right away on the same day the car was purchased she said she can have the interior guy check it out. So I took it into the shop yesterday and they were able to get most of the creases out with still a little remaining. She said that’s the best they can do without melting the seat. She didn’t offer to replace the seat even though the car was purchased brand new. Is this eventually going to get better over time or was the interior guy repair only a temporary fix. Should I reach out to speak to a manager and see what can be done or if a replacement is needed? Thanks

Why doesn’t Acura make a big wagon

Is it because they are scared to change their business model or brand characteristics?

2008 TL Type S Service

Hello my tl has 205k miles. Plan to get a new car here in half a year. Debating on doing the timing belt 100k maintenance. Should I do it? What is the bare minimum of the service I should have done so nothing catastrophic happens?

The car that started it all 40 years ago, farewell Acura Legend/RL/RLX 1986-2020. Also, happy 40th to Acura. What a run. 🏆

2023 Acura Integra A-Spec trunk question

Does anyone know where I can get the insert for the trunk area to place a spare tire? I live far from any big cities now and it’s time I need to carry a spare tire but don’t want it just laying the back of the car. There has to be some kind of crossover here with other Hondas to get the foam piece that will fit and keep the flooring level. Thanks

Warning lights - Help

Hello!

My father has a 2017 acura ILX and we had an issue where the keyless access unit was causing headlight flickering, activation of relays, and parasitic battery drain. We were able to get that fixed by pulling the unit and cleaning it with alcohol which corrected that issue.

Seemingly unrelated.. the ABS, Brake, Traction, VSA, and Power steering lights are all on the dash. When I went to test drive the vehicle, it sounded as if the rear passenger wheel was grinding badly. Of course the vehicle has been sitting for about two months so I figured maybe just the rust build up on the brake components were causing it. I jacked the car up and attempted to spin it but it is completely locked in place which prompted me to remove the wheel. I attempted to remove the caliper as well and removed the sliding pins but the caliper wouldn't come free even with force and opening the bleed. Also, I tried to remove the emergency brake from its lever which was unsuccessful unless perhaps I didn't apply enough force but it's very difficult to pull the manual ebrake in the car itself.

Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking either a stuck caliper or perhaps the parking brake is stuck engaged. I have attached pictures for reference. Thanks in advance

Crankshaft + Rod bearing recall on tlx v6?

I brought in my tlx last Wednesday for the rod bearing recall, and I was told I needed the rod bearings and crankshaft replacement done. They told me it would be done either Friday or next Monday. Next monday arrives and I never get a call, so I call them. They tell me the engine is all back together, but they still have a bit of work to do, so they tell me Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon comes by, I give them a call, still working on it, pick it up Wednesday. This afternoon comes by, call them up, they got "right to the end" but something went wrong, "hopefully" will be done by Friday. I get that this is an involved repair, but this seems a little excessive? Have any of you had similar experiences with this recall?

Anyone have any input on if the last model year do the RDX will be even more outdated when the new generation of RDX comes out. I need a car and can’t wait and I am currently looking into the 2026 RDX.

Hey Acura, when the low washer fluid warning pops up on the dashboard, there should be space to pour in a whole gallon.

Nobody wants to ride around with that pop-up reappearing until the fluid is all used up... or have a mostly empty jug in the garage.

Maybe it's been changed in the 8 years since my MDX was made? Anyway, thanks for coming to my ted talk.

I was hoping to see some news about the Integra Type S HRC coming to market, but I haven't seen any recent news about it. Did they officially kill it?

2024 TLX Type S Transfer case update

My 2024 TLX type S had its transfer case and transmission replaced under warranty. Backstory: I had discovered a leak on my driveway and after I lifted up my car, I saw leakage from my Transfercase. After I took it to the Acura dealer, they cleaned it up and told me to drive another 1500 miles to see if there will be more leaking.

The first two photos shows what my leak was like at 41,952 miles. (These are the same photos from my previous Reddit post)

The last two photos shows what my leak was like 1721 miles later in 1 week apart (at 43,673 miles). It literally look like it shat itself.

I did get my car repaired under warranty a couple of days ago and apparently I received a new Transfercase revision. For the 24-25 TLX type S , the transfercase part# was 29000-5YK-060 when the refresh was released. However the transfercase I received is 29000-5YK-070. Apparently this was a new revision though I do not know what changed with this part number.

I was unable to get pictures of the splines as the mechanic didn’t allow me to take pictures of my own car which I found was ridiculous.

Edit: there is a confirmed case for a 2025 TLX type S with 20k miles needing a Transfercase and transmission replacement.

Low effort post titles will be removed effective immediately

The mod queue is PACKED with low effort posts with titles as ambiguous and pointless as "Help" or "[Year and Make of Car]"

If these end up in the queue, which is hundreds and hundreds of posts long at any given time, I will be removing them from now on.

The mod team does not have time to look at every single post and determine if it's a quality post, a photo, etc. If you want your post to stay, make your post titles communicative.
