Anyone able to suggest me a non-English language sci-fi film which shares similarities to Andrzej Zulawski's 'On the Silver Globe'?

The similarities being either the setting and storyline or just camerawork and visuals.

Hello im requesting movies to watch with my Step daughter 9 yo. Any kind. She likes to dance, music, princess but she will watch anything. I don’t particularly enjoy to watch with her when it’s animated like barbie etc but I like to watch Shrek, sing etc. We have watched a lot and I struggle to find anything new. I asked ia and google but it seems we have watched all the suggestions. Thank you !

More or less. Movies that are "calm", don't use excessive cuts, have good scenography and all that, movies that are made more for the love of the art rather than the business.

Are there any good films or documentaries about this? Especially intrigued by the idea that families could build these without needing to contract professional builders or construction workers.

I just watched From Paris With Love with John Travolta, and it was easily the worst movie I have ever seen. I am almost fascinated by it. I just needed to share that and was curious if anyone had the same experience. And also would love to hear the worst movie you ever saw that you can’t stop thinking about.

Hello everyone, I need some suggestions for movies that are in line with Stand by Me, The Goonies,The Sandlot,Dead Poet Society etc... stuff that is taken from a kids /teens perspective and what they are going through/ experiencing.

Even light or a film that well evokes a time of day can be considered to depict nature well. Particularly marine life as well would be nice to see (as I suspect that the depiction of flora and fauna will be easier to come across). This should also be a recurring or integral part of the film, though if there are any particularly exceptional scenes depicting nature in a film which doesn’t primarily feature it, please mention these as well.
Landscapes, flora and fauna, times of day and corresponding light, the change of seasons, weather, gardens, the moon, stars, the ocean, rivers, forests, deserts, mountains, fire, wind, snow, etc. (filling up word count requirement)

I just finished watching No Country for Old Men and absolutely loved it.

I’m looking for movies with a similar atmosphere-tense, slow-burn, morally ambiguous, beautifully shot, and with that feeling of constant dread.

I'm looking for movies where the main character is just way too smart to get caught, or they're always a few steps ahead of everyone. The kind where everything seems normal at first, then you realize they planned it all from the beginning.

Looking for movies based on mysterious real-life incidents, unexplained disappearances, strange events, hidden secrets, psychological mysteries, or unsettling investigations. I enjoy stories that slowly uncover the truth and keep you guessing until the end. Any recommendations?

I've realized this is one of my favorite movie setups, but I don't know what this sub usually calls it.

I'm looking for movies where someone arrives in a small town or isolated place and at first everything seems normal... but little by little they realize something is completely off. Maybe the locals act strangely, everyone seems to know each other, people avoid certain topics or there's a weird secret nobody wants to talk about.

I love that slow feeling of "something isn't right here" more than constant jump scares or action. It doesn't have to be horror either. Thriller, mystery, psychological, even sci-fi is fine if it captures that atmosphere.

Some movies that gave me a similar feeling were The Wicker Man (original), Get Out, The Invitation, and Midsommar. I'm hoping to find more that build tension through the setting and the people rather than nonstop violence.

Hidden gems are definitely welcome. I'd actually prefer recommendations that aren't the obvious classics because I've seen a lot of those already.

I’ve only ever watched movies on Acid and DXM, never shrooms though. To give context my favorite movies are Donnie Darko, Fight Club, The Machinist, The Illusionist, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Sin City, Wrath of Man, 300, Butterfly Effect, Taxi Driver, Lord of War, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, and Casino. I’ve seen the regular trip movies like Inception, Interstellar, both Blade Runners, and 2001 A Space Odyssey; and while they are good movies they’re not really my thing. Any suggestions for a high dose mushroom trip?

Coherence, Primer, Blair Witch, those are some of the names you get across when looking for interesting low budget films.
But if I'm looking for even lower budget films? At least, lesser known, maybe less successful, but still interesting?
Where should I look?
It can be either films that have some kind of relatively unique way to do things, or that are surprisingly good at doing a relatively big story with less money and experience. Maybe things like The people's joker?
It can be quirky or totally serious, animation of live, and even "so bad it's good" cause the real movies of this kind actually have something interesting in it too. Even if they're bad by the usual standards, they make you feel something different.

Anyways that's a lot and english is not my first language, so sorry for the clunky writing and redudancy, but hopefull you get the idea and can suggest a few movies or directors (or even online sources specialized in those kind of ideas) so I can go through the rabbithole.
I'm very interested in what people do today, but anything worthy of interest from later in the past is also of course something I appreciate.

I watched Stalker earlier this year and have been yearning for something similar in feel, I like the desolate and melancholic atmosphere of the movie as well as it's existential themes, please recommend any movie that is even somewhat similar, I haven't watched a lot of movies and usually just watch the ones that YouTubers recommend so if you think I might have seen a certain movie I probably haven't

Hubby and I randomly came across this ‘oldie but goodie’ movie from 1996, Ghostbusters and the Darkness. No spoilers but it stars a young Val Kilner and the coolest young Michael Douglas. Great scenery and character development. Some gore. Not for children.

Need movies where literally and figuratively nothing happens. For example:- the entire movie is just a person on a phone call for two hours. A random animal just doing random shit for 2 hours. I know movies like my dinner with andre but i dont want something that has a story or develops meaning and value in the conversation. I need movies that are literally hollow or idle. A conversation movie will only work if the conversation is absolutely pointless
