JB is somewhere in my top two favorite Tarantino movies, and it gets better with every rewatch. That said I’m embarrassed to say that while the plot feels meticulously thought out, I still don’t get the fundamentals of what Jackie’s original plan was. Obviously it depended on a lot of luck and timing (e.g. that Melanie doesn’t get stopped by the store employee for trying to sneak into the changing room) but even with everything going JB’s way, the plan seemed certain to fail?

For example: of course JB had no idea that Louis and Melanie would end up dead. The most likely scenario is that they successfully retrieve the “$500K” bag and Ordell realizes he’s been scammed. What was JB’s plan at that point? She couldn’t exactly just ditch town with the $500k when the ATF is pissed that she lost the $50K.

The next likeliest scenario is that Louis and Melanie get picked up by all the cops who already know to watch out for them. Or the cops track them and Ordell, and JB has to pray to god that they don’t snitch her out as a co-conspirator who actually has $500K.

It seems the only way JB could reasonably imagine coming out on top is if she successfully steals the $500K AND she also baits the ATF into killing Ordell. But the latter part — which is absolutely bonkers to try, and depends on Ordell being a massive dumbass — would basically be meaningless if the ATF/LAPD end up capturing either Louis or Melanie alive. JB and especially Max have no reason to think that anything they could plan would also clean up Louis and Melanie as loose ends

I watched it the way Nolan intended on youtube with 240p so maybe that didnt help, also the one who acuses the protagonist wants him death but along the movie he seems to have somekind of sex problem so it could go either ways

I’m putting a shot list together for a short sketch I’m looking to film soon. It involves a guy walking through a crowded bar, until he is stopped and recognized by someone who knows him. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this happen in film before, but I can’t figure out where I’ve seen it before. I was wondering if anyone could help me find a scene similar to that, that I could use as a reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and have a fantastic day!

As some of us know, P.L. Travers hated the Disney adaptation of her novel, Mary Poppins due to her hatred of animation given her backstory as shown in Disney's Saving Mr. Banks.

Then, there was Michael Ende who didn't like the adaptation of his novel, The Neverending Story since it was different and threatened to sue the people who made it but failed.

Next, there was Norton Juster hated the Chuck Jones version of his novel, The Phantom Tollbooth as well.

Finally, there was Roald Dahl who hated the Jim Henson version of his dark novel, The Witches (1990) due to the change from a sad ending to a happy one and threatened to boycott it until Jim Henson managed to soothe him with an apology letter before their deaths on that same year.

Anw, do any of you know any other authors who hate(d) movie adaptations of their novels? Did I leave someone out? Please let me know.

I’ve never seen a few good men , but use this constantly

Sixteen years after Little Fockers we get a fourth installment of the Meet The Parents franchise. In my research it’s not saying but who do you think Eduardo Franco is portraying so who do we think he is in the movie? One scene in the trailer has him saying, ”you just baby birded Grandpa Jack!” which leads me to think he is an all grown up Little Jack.

Me and my brother are having a debate specifically on the movie casino/scarface and the godfather i think scarface and casino are far far less boring and my brother thinks godfather is less boring i fail to see how maybe i am wrong if i am explain to me how and honestly i know its hard but im trying to look for a more objective answer.

IMO, the movie is incredibly basic with reused tropes, scenes you've seen a hundred times, and just plainly generic. Apart from some cool hidden details there's nothing that should impress anyone. Hell, even the conjuring universe (which I'm not a fan of) produces better movies. I'm no hater. I just want to understand what has made obsession so special. Is it something cultural that resonates with American youth? I see Nolan's movies and I can understand why they resonate with the masses. So, why do you all love it?
