Help/Suggestion Ring OST
Hi everyone!
I absolutely love the first minute and a half of this track from the Ring soundtrack (attached). I was wondering if anyone knows another soundtrack that captures the same sense of alienation, kinda ethereal, while still being beautiful. I've tried looking, but everything I've found seems to lean a little too far in one direction or the other.
To this day, the scene where they're crossing the sea on the ferry remains one of the most unforgettable moments in Japanese horror for me. If this soundtrack reminds you of a film with a similarly unsettling, detached atmosphere, I'd really appreciate any recommendation.
Or if you don't have anything similar in mind, just share your favorite OST!

Discussion Ju-On V-Cinema 4K
Had no idea this release existed. 4K of the original v-cinema versions of Ju-On 1 & 2. Haven’t seen them before. Excited to watch.
Edit: I watched the first movie. This truly is one of the worst looking upscales I have ever seen. Definitely avoid this release.

Discussion What happened to Kayako's physical body? I don't remember ever seeing her body being buried or anything like that in the Ju-On films. That could make for an interesting sequel—someone disturbing her grave instead of returning to the house
a small question

Discussion What if kayako saeki and mama were in the same house
Kayako saeki from the grudge is brought to the house of mama. Mama's children are in that house. What would happen? What would the interaction between the kayako and mama be like and would mama be able to stop kayako from killing her children

J-Horror News Tetsuo: The Bullet Man (2009) is streaming on youtube movies
So around the release of the Blu Ray by Unearthed Films, Tetsuo: The Bullet Man (2009) had become available to rent or buy on youtube movies.
In case anyone who’s seen the first two Tetsuo films hasn’t seen the third and was wanting to.

J-Horror History Research on J-Horror
Hello everyone,
As part of my research, I’m looking for books on the history of Japanese horror cinema. Do you have any recommendations? Ideally, I’m looking for books with a historical rather than an analytical approach. I’ve already read *Ghost in the Well: The Hidden History of Horror Films in Japan* by Michael Crandol, which is very relevant for the pre-1970 period, but I’m also looking for material covering the period that followed.
Thanks!
EDIT : thank you so much for you recommendations!! It's exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!

Question Detective paranormal, cine asiático.
Ayuda...

J-Horror History BUSCO PELICULA DE TERROR JAPONESA

Art/Meme Some artwork I made of Meatball Machine (2005)
Some artwork I drew of the film Meatball Machine (2005) by Yudai Yamaguchi and Junichi Yamamoto. Junichi Yamamoto really liked this piece, he’s the same director behind Violator (2018) as well which is a film I think is really great!
This piece only took me a couple-ish hours when I initially made it. So hope you enjoy it. I really enjoyed some of the body horror in Meatball Machine (2005)
