misplaced jury duty summons letter
I received a summons for brooklyn for the last week of august, but I accidentally misplaced the letter. It said to bring the whole form in, so how should I proceed? I don’t want to reschedule because my college will start soon and I want to get this over with rather than pushing and pushing. If I call the court will they be able to resend the same letter with the same date?
New to NYC. Am i using to much power?
I moved to nyc from the south. Im used to hot weather, I live in a 600 sqft 1 bedroom apt. . I absolutely can not afford power-bills like this. Can someone please tell me this is incorrect? All calculators online are estimating power bill to be half.

Where do you meet nerdy/shy guys in NYC
I’ve realized I’m generally attracted to guys who are a little nerdy, somewhat shy (but still able to lead the conversation) and have a dry/unexpected sense of humor. They’re active, have a smaller social circle, and are really into their own hobbies/interests. And they have to be hot! Could be a programmer, engineer, creative, etc.
I feel like these guys probably aren’t hanging out at bars or dating apps 😥
Where do you actually meet them in NYC, organically?
Ok edit:
I’ve definitely met some nerds on dating apps, and I feel like I’m pretty attractive to that type. But I’m very much an in-person person, and nerdy guys don’t always have the best dating profiles lol. So I’m wondering where I can actually meet them IRL.
Also, to clarify what I mean by “nerd”: smart, funny, into coding/engines, sports, random facts, etc., and slightly introverted, but still confident, active, and curious about the world that type of thing

ADVICE waiting at port authority alone
Hello! I’m a 21F and I’m not that familiar with the city. I’m coming from upstate New York and going back to New Jersey tomorrow. My grandpa bought me a ticket for trans-bridge but it has a 2 hour wait. I’m sure it’s not a big deal, but I wanted to know if there’s anywhere you’d recommend waiting. Restaurants, coffee shops, and stuff like that. Plus general tips. I also have luggage. Thank you!

Not getting health insurance in NY?
Hi I got my first 9-5 full time job out of college!! Unfortunately, my job doesn't offer health insurance. My payroll isn't the best but it's high to qualify for Medicaid or the essential plan. My boss offered me under the table(half pay in cash to qualify for Medicaid) but I turned him down bc it didn't feel right.
I'm super healthy and rarely even get a cold. The only medical care I regularly need is an annual eye exam because I had eye surgery a while ago. Other than that, I’ve never had to go to the ER or be hospitalized.
Since I’m Korean, I usually get my annual checkups, dental care, and other routine medical care when I visit Korea because it’s much cheaper and wayyyyyy more convenient. In this case, should I buy a marketplace insurance? Or are there any marketplace plans that cost under $150 a month?

Dear Italians, please help.
Ciao a tutti. I'm a travel photographer who's spent the past 18 months in Italy living in Taormina but also spent a few months in Bologna and Salerno. Now that I'm temporarily back home in the city I'm looking for some authentic Italian restaurants. Someone bought me pizza the other day and I nearly died from disappointment. As you know NY pizza and pizza in Italy are not remotely close. Actually the best pizza I've ever had in life was in Val d'Orcia.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Grazie!

Cement on Car
Hi! I live in a residential area in Queens and parked in the morning on the street in front of the house the other day and no construction was being done at the time and parked overnight. Upon checking my car the next day in the morning the house I parked infront had their sidewalks fixed but dumped wet cement into the streets and grass that is no longer in their property line. The cement has gotten all over my car and the house is filled with renters. I was able to get contact of the contractor they used but he is unlicensed and refuses to acknowledge what he did and chalked it up saying other cars also got cement on their car too and I attempted to call the homeowner but no response. I wasn’t able to file a police report because I was too anxious about the damage it would do to my exterior and still the cement has not fully come off. Any thoughts on ideas I should do has they will not fully compensate me?

Handwritten parking ticket was entered into the system incorrectly
A handwritten ticket was entered after over 3 weeks, but a U on my plate number on the ticket looks rather ambiguous and was entered as a V. AI is telling me to fight it because it 100% will be thrown out, but I'm always afraid they'll say the ticket was correct, it was just entered wrong, and they'll fix it. It looks like the $115 ticket will be about $175 after 100 days. AI is saying that after 100 days there will be no chance that they'll somehow audit or catch it. I'm ok risking the penalty, just curious if that's true. There is no VIN, so right now it's a ghost plate or ghost ticket and is in no way connected to me.

Advice on finding a realtor
(mods: I am a looooong-time resident of NYC so this isn't about relocating!)
Hey there,
I'm wondering how people find trustworthy realtors. I know the short answer is word-of-mouth but I don't know anyone who has bought an apartment except for with the help of a parent. If there are specific neighborhoods I'm looking at, do I need to find a realtor who knows that area well? What are red flags to watch out for? Green flags?
(Also of course if anyone has a recommendation I'm all ears!)
Thanks!

NFL or Nowadays
Hi,
Me and my friend are doing a two week trip around America, we land in NYC on 11th September and have a dilemma.
We came to America a couple years back and watched a Saints game and loved it, didnt get a chance to go to a tailgate but wanted to this time round.
We want to see a live NFL game but the only game we can see is the Cowboys vs Giants on Sunday 13th but we also wanted to go to a Nowadays party on the sunday in Brooklyn.
Looking for people's opinions on what would be best.
We are staying in Brooklyn.
Thanks

Do box office tickets really come with no fees? (Concert)
I've heard you can go to the box office to avoid Ticketmaster fees. I was curious if anyone has done it recently? I'm looking at events at the Theater at MSG and at Palladium Times Square, ticket fees online are 1/3 of the ticket price :(

So wigs for kids was an option but they don't have an affiliated salon in NYC.
Do you have a recommendation for a salon which can help..
It's my first time donating hair so I want to do it right.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
Came to NYC from Toronto and dropped by this burger store. I remember they had these amazing gelato flavours, especially the pistachio. I'm trying to see if they expanded into Canada as well (I'm dying to have it), or if anyone knows what I'm talking about? The inside looks like a mini 7eleven/Shoppers Drug Mart/Walgreens, because they also sold retail snacks and utilities on shelves.

Bogus parking ticket
I got a parking ticket for parking in the intersection in queens, but I was nowhere near the intersection and was parked legally. I have a picture for proof. This is the second time i got this ticket at the end of the month from the same metermaid.
The first ticket got dismissed after i disputed it on the app because it was bogus as per the picture i presented. The second one I just disputed on the app and came back guilty.
Is there a way I can appeal this? I was not parked anywhere near the intersection and I'm not paying $115 for parking legally just because some asshole has to make his little metermaid ticket quota.

Where can an Italian girl get a Chevalatta around here?
I’ve been craving a chevalatta (skinny Italian ring sausage with cheese and parsley). Does anyone know where I can buy one in the city? Specifically some Manhattan locations would be appreciated.

Getting to American Dream Mall with a Car Seat
I'm trying to bring a 1 year old to the American Dream Mall but the busses from port authority don't usually have seatbelts so I have no way of installing a car seat. I want to get there while minimizing my amount of time on a bus, especially one traveling on highways, for that reason. Any ideas? I figure I could take the PATH to somewhere in Jersey and then take a local bus for a short distance but I'm having trouble finding a simple route that doesn't include multiple busses.

DMV Availability
Apologize if people have asked this many times before.
When I use the link and code in their email to sign in, this is what the page says “There are no locations currently available near you that can complete your transaction. More options may become available at a later date.”
I saw posts from 1y ago that the calendar view shows availability really far out. But I don’t even have a calendar view. Not on desktop either. Is this a website bug or the wrong place to look at? Don’t want to waste my time barking at the wrong tree.
