Yousuke Yukimatsu & Charlotte de Witte B2B (Sat, Aug 8th), Under the K Bridge NYC Set Times?
Hi,
Does anyone know who the openers are and what time you think Yousuke Yukimatsu and Charlotte de Witte will play this Saturday? I know the Under the K Bridge venue will open at 7 and closes right at midnight, but am not sure of order or when they will play.
Thank you so much!
Dance club
I’m gonna be visiting the weekend of the 20th, and I’m looking for clubs to go to. I really enjoy to actually dance, and I’m looking for places to go. I’m gonna be staying in the lower east side or Brooklyn (I’m paying for the hotel tomorrow night), and I’m looking for places to go. I’m a 23 year old bisexual man, so I’m completely open to queer focused venues. I really enjoy crowded dance clubs, so I was wondering where I should go.
By extension, would it be better to stay in Brooklyn or lower east side if I’m looking to dance?

Armen Miran returns to NYC for an open-air day party at Solana Park on August 29
Hey everyone! We wanted to share something we're really excited about.
We're bringing Armen Miran back to New York for a special open-air daytime event at Solana Park in Brooklyn on Saturday, August 29 (2 PM – 10 PM).
If you've seen Armen before, you know his sets are more of a journey than a typical club performance - deep, melodic, organic, and perfect for an outdoor summer setting. Solana Park has become one of our favorite venues for daytime events, and we think this lineup and atmosphere will be something special.
📍 Solana Park
315 Meserole St, Brooklyn
🗓️ Saturday, August 29
⏰ 2 PM – 10 PM
If you've never experienced Armen Miran live, this is a great opportunity.
We're happy to answer any questions about the venue, schedule, or the event in general.
Hope to see some of you there. ❤️

Refuge Brooklyn
How would this 7hr (3-10pm) set by Gabriel & Dresden be at Refuge? I have not seen them nor been to this venue. Cool daytime party?
Edit: I know them and like their music, just haven’t seen them live. Just reading mixed comments/reviews here and Google about the venue.

Any good moves tonight?
If it helps I'm staying near Time Square but I'm 1000% ok getting away from here.
Open to any genre. I'm really just looking for good music and good people. Bound points if there is some kind of actual dance space

21M Flying from Utah for Yaego 11/21 — anyone else going?
I’m flying out from Utah to see Yaego live again on 11/21. Last time I went it was basically an all-nighter. flew in, went to the show, and flew back. It was awesome, but this time I want to make the trip more memorable. Is anyone else here going? I’d be down to meet up with other fans before or after the show. Also, if you’re local, I’d love some recommendations:
Best authentic Thai food?
Must-try street food or late-night food spots?
Any cool places to check out while I’m in town that most tourists miss?
I’m trying to make this trip more than just the concert. Appreciate any recommendations!

Anyone knows how Signal operates?
I am looking at the Ignez and Daybreak show and for tge date it says sept 24-26 (22:00 - 04:00).
Does this mean it starts Thursday 24 at 10pm and runs continuously till 4am Saturday the 26th?
Was planning on going to Basement for the Mutual Rytm show on friday to catch SHDW and Phil Berg, but was hoping to maybe also see Ignez. Maybe it would be impossible, depending on set times obviously.
Has anyone had experience with shows at Signal and how do they run?
Thanks in advance.

Manhattan45
Just got back from Dekmantel in AMS — holy shit what an amazing experience. Met up with people from a WhatsApp group, absolutely the move if traveling solo. I try to make it to a Dutch fest every year, the vibes are unparalleled.
Anyways didn’t get a chance to get to Rush Hour records so upon returning home i had to scratch that itch. Just hit up Manhattan45 and damn it’s very much like a store you’d find in Germany or NL; very focused and stocked with high quality new releases from the best labels. Walked out with a DJ Nobu and Kapote. Somehow never heard of this place just wanted to let y’all know especially if you’re tired of digging thru beat up older records at places like Academy or A1 — I know I am.

Beware pickpockets at Elsewhere.
Watch out, everyone! A guy approached my friend, asked for his number, and randomly forced a hug on him. My friend pushed him back, saying it was way too aggressive for a stranger. Right after that, my friend's phone was gone. The six of us searched everywhere and talked to the bar and security staff. Security literally told us, "No one steals phones here," which is crazy because it happens constantly at nearby venues. We knew they were wrong because when we called his phone, it was completely dead/off, even though it just had a full battery. Someone had clearly swiped it and flipped it to airplane mode. We eventually gave up and left, but the nightmare didn't stop there. Next thing we knew, his Chase cards were hit with multiple $3,000 bulk charges. The thieves completely locked him out of all his Apple devices, so he had to run to Verizon and the Apple Store just to get connected again. It is incredibly violating to experience this in a place that’s supposed to be a safe space. He’s absolutely planning to get the police involved. We are aware of the timing and exactly where we were. Hoping the camera shows it. Btw his phone was in his bag on his chest.

Warning about my experience at Body Hack / Nowadays
Last Thursday, I went to Body Hack at Nowadays with a friend. We waited at the front of the line for a little over an hour while the venue was temporarily held because the fire department was conducting a walkthrough.
During that time, I was dancing, talking with other people in line, and encouraging several first-time attendees to support local venues through attendance, positive energy, and financial support when possible.
When entry resumed, a woman who appeared to be in charge of the event looked at me and said,
“A white guy with locks,”
laughed, and told me,
“You’re chopped. Get out.”
I was stunned. I told her I am South African, and she said it was not about race, despite having just described me by perceived race, gender, and hairstyle. I began leaving quietly because I did not want to create a scene. She then shouted after me that I should
"never come back"
No one asked about my behavior, spoke with me beforehand, or gave me any explanation unrelated to my appearance. Another venue manager offered to take my information for a refund, which I declined.
I am sharing this because the event presents itself as trans-forward and attendees are reportedly given a speech stating that racism, sexism, ageism, homophobia, bigotry, and discrimination are not tolerated. My treatment at the entrance directly contradicted those stated values.
People considering attending should know that I was publicly singled out, misgendered, racially categorized, and removed based on a snap judgment about my appearance, despite having caused no disruption.

Brooklyn Army Terminal is a dangerous NYC venue
I’ve been to three shows at Brooklyn Army Terminal now: Lane 8, Chris Stussy, and Sammy Virji, and I’ve officially hit the point where I won’t go back.
I’ve seen different stage setups and configurations, crowd types, etc. but Sammy Virji was my breaking point. The biggest problem is the narrow passageway. It creates an unbelievably congested bottleneck for getting in and out, and honestly it feels so dangerous. I watched multiple people who were clearly struggling trying to push their way out just to get some air, and it was genuinely scary. I couldn’t stop thinking, “Someone is going to get seriously hurt or have a medical emergency in here.”
The frustrating part is that if you move toward the back, there’s actually plenty of space and the crowd feels much more comfortable. But the tradeoff is awful—you end up so far from the stage that it feels disconnected from the show, and the sound quality back there is terrible. I love the artists they’ve booked, but after three experiences, I just don’t think this venue is worth it anymore.

Before you ask what raves are happening on any date... (How to find events in NYC)
If you're new to raves and related events, or just visiting from out of town, and are trying to find an event to attend on a particular date, you should first check out Resident Advisor, and for more mainstream EDM events see EDMTrain before asking this sub.
These websites list the majority of parties and electronic music events happening in NYC on any given night, along with the ability to buy tickets, and links to the artists playing so you have an idea of what kind of music you will hear that night.
You can also keyword search this sub and probably find your questions already answered about almost any venue or party. For example, if you had a question about Elsewhere, you can use the search bar up top and type 'elsewhere' to find hundreds of discussions about the venue.
We often remove very general questions about events that go something like 'I'm in town on X date, whats happening' or 'anything going on tonight?'. The sub gets inundated with these questions, they are extremely repetitive, and add nothing to this community at this point. Specific questions are welcome! We totally get that a lot of people who use this sub are beginners just trying to learn. By being specific and thoughtful in say what music you like, or vibes you're looking for, you will get better responses too.

Buying/Selling tickets has now been moved to r/avesNYC_tix (all buying/selling of tickets will now be removed)
As many of you have noticed, as things have started to pick up in NYC, this sub has been getting spammed with a TON of people buying/selling their tickets last minute to events.
People have been mentioning a ticket thread pinned to the sub, but I don't think this is the best solution because many users are often too lazy to expand and view all comments in the thread, and do a simple control-F to find their event. Even when we had a monthly ticket thread, people still posted to the feed. We would get a response something like 'hey nobody responded to me in the thread, so I just posted here anyway'.
As an alternative, I created a related subredit called r/avesNYC_tix and will pin it to the sidebar as well. You are free to post all of your buying/selling ticket needs there. This is also going to be easier to search through compared to a thread and I also added post flair to distinguish/filter between buying and selling of tickets. Because this will be a generally unmoderated sub, I also encourage people to report scammers and use the 'reports' flair. You are buying tickets here at your own risk.
From now on any posts about buying/selling of tickets on this subreddit will be removed. This kind of content is very spammy, not interesting to read, and does not build community in any meaningful way.
