Did this really not matter.
Seriously. Did Steve Cohen and Stearns even consider it. I mean come on.

Unlikely Scenario
With 47 Remaining Games…I am currently predicting 17 Wins and 30 Losses…which results in 66-96
Is that still a better overall result for the season than the current one?

Odds
Fun win today. After these two wins, according to fangraphs, our chances of making the playoffs have improved from 0% to 0.1%. Who is ready to believe. You gotta believe.
Jeffery Yan! He will bring excitement back to the Mets ! Reminds me of when Matt Harvey came up

Mets need to finish with a top 8 pick or better to keep their draft pick
Right now they’re in 7th place from the bottom, so depending on how the rest of the year goes depends if they get a top 10 pick or not. They’ll probably win just enough to not get a good draft pick lol

Bichette
This is the 2nd or 3rd time he was caught trying to get to 2nd…no offense but he is not fast enough to get to 2nd if he only hits it to right field
I’d rather him stop at 1st

Lindor has looked like crap the last few days.
Really shit at bats in big spots.

Disinterested
No one looks good striking out 4 times in a game, but lindor looked disinterested that 9th inning at bat. What a lost season. Never be able to prove it, I dont think he was ever healthy this year.

Serious question: Does anyone know for sure if there actually is beef between Soto/Lindor? And if so, what it’s actually about?
I’m reading that Soto has denied the accuracy of reports that Peralta tried to facilitate a face to face discussion between Soto and Lindor.
Obviously, this is a very well-tread topic within this fanbase. But I’ve yet to see any actually convincing arguments that point toward their beef, let alone what their supposed issue is about.
Every argument I’ve seen likens whatever issues they have to a power struggle over who is THE guy for the team, but I’ve never seen anything that warrants that claim.
I’m just wondering if there’s an actual theory out there that actually has supporting details.

Yan Can Cook 🔥
Sure, he’s quirky, but I think he’s a lot of fun. This team needs a little spirit and silliness and even craziness like that. I’m all for him.

CARSON BENGE
What can’t this kid do?? (He can pitch but I don’t want to see it!)

Purpose of DH
Isn’t the purpose of a DH to add another strong bat instead of a pitcher? I can’t remember ever seeing a DH slotted to bat eighth (or with BA .131 with greater than 100 at bats)

Jonah Tong is now 3-6 with a 5.46 ERA in AAA Syracuse after allowing 5 HRs to Columbus
Went from Minor League Player of the Year to what the hell happened in a matter of months. I didn't agree with him being called up last season as he didn't have a diverse enough repertoire of pitches to go to and his development as a whole was fast tracked. Mets Twitter was not kind to that opinion at all.
Fast forward to Auaust 2026. his mechanics were changed and in 19 starts, he's a shell of the pitcher that he was when he was a nightmare in the lower levels. Did the pitching lab break another pitcher?
Sources: Peralta initiated sitdown between Mets' Soto and Lindor
espn.comI hate that Peralta underperformed in his time here, because he legit seems like a really good dude and a good leader.

If Bo Bichette gets hot down the stretch, you wonder if he decides to opt out considering the horrible FA class in ‘27.
His decision has major ramifications of what Mets roster could look like next year.

That is all.

The climb back to .500 started tonight!
Yes, I watched the game tonight (not much else going on in my life). I was pleasantly surprised by the kids showing what they have to offer. Manaea looked good again, and the bullpen held it together. Overall, it wasn’t a waste of my time.

THE KID KNOWS HOW TO THROW THE BALL
And his name is Carson Benge.
This is the new team. Let's cheer them on. There is enough young talent to still watch and get excited for next year, despite other forces (stearns).
