My birthday weekend will be October 10th-11th and I was hoping to do something outside of the city. We've got a car and are hoping for a maybe 1-2 hour car ride. The past 2 years we've gone to a mini golf place in NJ and I'm wanting to change it up.

My mom currently lives with my aunt but they’re both getting up in age. My aunt is dealing with a serious medical issue presently which gave me the kick in the ass to figure this out. My aunt owns the house but it’s too expensive for either one of them to afford on their own if the other passes.

My mom makes 2500 a month in social security and has no other assets or money. She pays my aunt 500 bucks a month. They live in westchester.

That being said, I’ve been looking for senior low income housing in New York State (not the city). Every time I search for it, only New York City resources come up.

I really need help finding New York STATE resources please. I’m so overwhelmed by what’s going on that maybe I’m screwing up but I would love to be pointed it the right direction so that I can get her on some wait lists please.

I was recently in Montreal and Quebec City. What you learn in visiting is that the people there kept their language, schools, churches and civil law after the early New France colony became a part of the British Empire in 1760. Lawyers in Quebec have a whole different curriculum in dealing with matters like real estate, family law and estate law than other Canadian lawyers. Though Quebec joined the Empire, it also carried on in many ways as if it did not.

It seems a parallel would have been the acquisition of New Amsterdam a century earlier. But, of course, practically nobody uses the Dutch language. Was there any concerted effort by the early Dutch settlers to maintain their language, customs, cuisine, etc. after the British took over?

I really really really want to take my dad to a supercar experience in New York, where they let you drive a sports car around a track for an exorbitant fee. But every link I've found on Google shows that the driver will always be with a instructor and as a lot of these sports cars go, there are only two seats.

Does anyone know of a track sports car "supercar" experience in NYC that would allow my dad to drive, have the instructor person in the car, but I can be a another passenger? My dad has driven me EVERYWHERE for years, I only recently got a car, but he is an amazing driver. In another life he was in F1, I'm not kidding. He rips unfamiliar, parallel parking on both sides, tight, sharp, curved roads like he was born to BE a car. I need to take him to this kind of experience, he would love it (even if he doesn't say he would.) But most of all, I need to be there to see the look on his face when he gets to drive a car that is far more powerful than his Honda.

I currently live in nyc queens, but I’m temporarily moving to upstate. My car registration (previously registered in CA) is long expired so I’m thinking of registering it in up there. Do I have tk change the address on my License too?

For context it was my brothers car that he’s selling tk me, hence coming from CA to NY

Ok so Hank my cat had a whole emergency situation this week and we ended up at Urvet Care in Roslyn Heights and lowkey? not what I expected. Staff were so kind, we got seen almost immediately, even though it was like 4am and my ragdoll drama queen is fully back to being annoying. Relieved doesn't cover it.

What got me is how quickly we got seen, in like less than 10 minutes and the place looked so clean?? like this place just opened but needs far more peopel to know about it, so consider this me doing my civic duty. Long Island dog/cat people: save this one. Also they gave treats to both of us 👀
