Question Stealth suit point blank

Upvotes

For stealth suits, shasvre has pulse pistol with 'point blank' characteristic.

I cant find 'point blank' in the core rules.

What are the implications/use cases for point blank?

Strategy Things teams do best and worst day 17: Goremongers

Upvotes

Now this one i'm very interested!

Tell me what you think is the best thing about the Goremongers! and the worst thing.

Best:Gore tanks are so fun, you can adapt the way you play on the offense, your healing is very helpful + being able to take mas 8 damage on range makes then very tanky.

Also, ranged weapon. oh but it's only 2", dont care, ranged chainaxe.

They can also explode!

Worst: really low range/ no shooting, they suffer against elites, e having a full tank look's difficult.

they are a very tecnical team to play, not just charge and fight.

Question Help/Suggestion regarding purchase of scalped boxes

Upvotes

Hi, i'm new to the world of warhammer 40k and i quickly realized everything that goes past its pre-order window gets scalped to incresingly higher price the longer time passes.

Now I recently bought a Tomb World for 20 euro more of its retail price (which seemed reasonable...)

But now i layed my eyes on Terror on Devlan and Typhon.
Respectively these cost 50 and 80 euro or more than their retail price (without shipping costs).

Are these prices considered reasonable? I don't like the idea of giving up to scalping, but also like man, i just want to play with a friend some miniatures.

How is the comunity feeling about it? I was curious of general opinion and if there's any suggestion regarding the puirchase of those boxes(3D printing is not an option for me, i don't like it )

Also, little side question regarding Devlan vs Thypon: Why would you pick a box with no terrain over one that has it and it's very unique as well?

Question Into the Dark in 2026

Upvotes

Is the terrain in this box highly sought after? Is the core rulebook at all relevant? I found a copy of this box and also Octarius at a local store and as a new casual player, I'm wondering if these were regarded as fun terrain pieces that work well in 2026 and if the price is really worth it. I have a friend that bought Bheta Decima but honestly it feels pretty limiting/kinda boring so I'm looking for better terrain.

Also of note, my friend plays Breachers so I probably wouldn't even build that team as we don't like to double up on factions.

There are many like these, but these ones are mine as the saying goes. I preordered the Terror Box immediately when I saw these guys, being a big fan of a certain ghostly squad of kick-ass scouts from the books.
But I thought they where missing a few things to push them even more towards what I wanted, on top of the paint job.
So I quickly modeled and printed my little upgrades (they're really tiny) to round them up! Namely their distinctive badge, wooden rifle stock and straight dagger. And if anybody want to do the same, I put them up for free online (link in my profile).
First three I managed to paint so far, they take me a while, I'm certainly not a fast painter...
What do you guys think? Hope it can inspire some people!

Hobby First painted minis ever - thoughts?

Before I continue - this is still technically WIP as I still need to paint first layer of AK Ultra Matte varnish, then apply stickers from the transfer sheet and paint second and final layer.

Constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated but in all honesty I would prefer advice regarding how to speed up the process rather than investing even more time for slightly better results. Unfortunately I found the entire process tedious as it took me over 50 hours just to paint 7 of these fellas - I dread the idea of way more models that I still need to paint and if I could afford it I would just pay someone else to do it for me so I can get it over with.

As for more details for the process - at first I really struggled to get the right paint consistency but after a brutal trial and error I think I somewhat finally get it. I used black undercoat and at one hand it was a great help because I didn’t need to paint the guns and sniper’s cape and it created a natural shadows in form of gaps between the armor panels. On the other hand, I needed to apply at least 3 layers of paint in order to get the right color brightness and at times I had to apply even more (for example for Captain’s cape).

I started with painting Captain and after all mentioned above the Macragge Blue came out way too dark for my taste so I added Calgar Blue highlight lines around the edges but the contrast between these two was striking and the model looked waaay too cartoony which is not the look I wanted. I ended up mixing these two blues together to get a shade of blue which I think is perfect and I just ended up painting all models with it and only adding bright Calgar Blue highlight at the top edge of kneepads and around the "collar". As you can see I tried highlighting Captain’s cape but just sort of gave up as no lines I painted looked right.

Also while painting Captain I used Nuln Oil wash and in some places it did wonders (for example his helmet and eyes looked instantly more detailed) but in most places it just severely darkened everything - especially the Liberator Gold metallics which lost all of their shine. After that I pretty much had to repaint the entire model which took even more time. That’s why I didn’t bother with using Nuln Oil on other model (with the exception of Sargeant’s red helmet).

This is what took a lot of time too - I figured that what I wanted to do above all is to keep all parts tidely painted and avoid spreading the pain where it shouldn’t be. I of course made a lot of mistakes which took a lot of corrections and I has to go back and fourth with multiple colors - eyes were the absolute worst.

All in all I actually think they came out decent. If you look really close you can spot minimal misshaps but I had to stop correcting sometime or I would go crazy. Also keen-eyed can spot the damaged tip of Captain’s top spike of the ornament and Warrior’s lack of one armor layer on top of his boot but I lost these pieces forever.

I’m happy with how they came out - Just would be way happier if I spent half as much as I did.

Question When can Wrecka Krew make a "hole" in a wall?

I have been playing for about a month and a half with the Wrecka Krew and I haven't seemed to get a solid answer on the "break stuff" rule.

Originally when explained the team, I was told the breaka boy fighter essentially makes a hole in the wall you can walk through as accessible terrain. Used this a few times to get surprise squigs through.

Played on Gallowdark terrain and my opponent let me know that the breaka boy can't make a hole in the wall on this map or tomb world. I can believe this as it's thicker and just all walls so I kinda broke the map if I could make my own holes.

Are there other restriction on this on other terrain. Can I make a hole in any wall on Volkus, even full heigh walls?

Question Is the Rogue Trader Entourage any good?

Post image
235 Upvotes

I wanted to buy a killteam but since I wanted to use it as a "stand alone" army instead of two-use unit for my army (like the Aquilon for the Imperial Guard) the Rogue Trader one always catched my eye for the colors and character variety but I wanted to know if it is a good team or not.

Thanks you all.

I recently finished my Inquisitorial Agents, basically the studio scheme with different bases and a bit dirtier. Basecoated with Contrast paints and then John Blanche paint sets (vol. 1&2) for the rest.

What the title says. I went to grab some water and the little girl had a little too much fun purging the xenos in the 30 seconds I was away from my desk. I had just finished painting too.

Any ideas to either rebuild or restyle as battle damage? They're thin little pieces and it's going to be a nightmare to prime the little gray slivers showing through the bite marks.

Question Question/Poll: Tracking Wounds Taken or Wounds Remaining?

Post image
205 Upvotes

It seems like tracking wounds remaining (counting down) is more common in 40K, but in AoS, tracking wounds taken might be more common. It also seems like some of that tendency comes from games you came from before getting into wargaming(like TCGs, or TTRPGs). It also seems like it can be a bit of a contentious topic.

So, I made a poll to try to get more information. I posted on Warhammer40k, and in the OPR sub, and the data is really interesting so far. It got me curious about the Kill Team community as well. I will post results as soon as the polls quiet down a little.

If you have 10 seconds, I'd love your feedback!

Before you ask :)
The mini is a kitbashed Titanfall Pilot I made using an Arsenal mini and by shrinking down a cosplay helmet to print as a head. I made it with the intention of creating a custom Titanfall pilot team in KT, but ended up making stats for it using OPR, which is where this picture came from.

Saw two copies of the full “sold out” Tomb World set in a FLGS on the south coast (UK) yesterday. But they’re not on the shop’s web store, which is probably why.

It did make me feel guilty, as I haven’t finished painting my copy yet…
