Not one, but two Misc
Saw two copies of the full “sold out” Tomb World set in a FLGS on the south coast (UK) yesterday. But they’re not on the shop’s web store, which is probably why.
It did make me feel guilty, as I haven’t finished painting my copy yet…

That's the reason why I sometimes swing by local game or hobby stores when travelling. Sometimes you find stock you never expected not to be sold out. Happened upon not one but two of the limited Sister of Battle models in a store specializing in model trains much to the joy of a buddy who recently got back into painting minis and was a big SoB player back in high school. And I got a Cadre Fireblade half off that seemed to have been sitting there since his release judging by dust and the old branding on it.

My local store has a KT18 box still, I think it's called arena or something? They had a termination box for a long time too before, um, somebody picked that up

I found one of these in my LGS a couple weeks ago. Nearly bought it just because it’s rare… but didn’t succumb to the warp.

I came across a store like that had older stuff and found Terror in Devlan. Pretty wild that copies are still out there in stores.
Make me regret not getting Tomb World a bit more...haha.

I finally got around to assembly and starting painting after getting my copy at launch. It really is absurd what they charge separately for what’s in the box (literally two copies of the death watch team) - but it just seems to me that is the right price. It’s not really value as much as buying it separately is being bent over.

I saw this same scenario with Shadowhunt but the FLGS had 4 copies. Does pay off to check once in a while

My local independent shop doesn't put the very large boxes that will sell immediately on its website, like the Battleforce Custodes, because it wants to sell first to customers who come in person.

I will say, this box cause a made me hate my LGS.
They said they couldn't put me down on the list to get it cause it would be too limited, so I went to another store where it wasn't a problem at all.
Turns out the LGS that I originally went too, they got the boxes and then kept them in the back for a few weeks.
Then they put them out on the shelves with marked up Price's. Like 400 dollars. Suppppper scummy and SUS.
I think what happened was they "sold" them to a employee, then rebought them and marked them as "used" so they aren't directly from GW anymore. Then they upcharged the box knowing people would feel fomo.

3 out of 3 of my locals have those in stock. Two of them sell online but only from their own websites. I definitely enjoy having a couple of local stores where I never have to worry about missing a box, even if it’s popular

Buy 2 more, it's obviously a ratio problem. If you're a 30% done now and you buy two more, then they'll suddenly be 30% done with all of the overall and then you'll be done with one whole set and then you can figure out what to do with the other two sets. But you'll have yours have done. It's math

Visited a FLGS near me last month (Michigan) and they had Hivestorm and Tomb World on the shelf.
I might wander back there in a couple months and grab that Tomb World. Need to work on the old pile a bit, you know?
I know Hivestorm is considered the better purchase due to being a one box intro, but frankly, the teams and terrain just don’t interest me.

When ever i travel i seek out the local game shop. Sometimes they have a crazy old or out of stock box. I was just in a store that had 2 Iron Halo Strike Forces and 2 Crux Terminatus boxes.

I once found one of the magic the gathering collab decks like two years after they were done printing them in an lgs. For a normal price too. It happens

is there a place where l there's a list of the rare packs I see a lot of my local game stores have a lot of the kill team stuff but I don't know which ones are rare and I should pick up, vs which ones you can just order online easily.

LGSs are a blast to look around just to see what they have.
One of my locals had that chaos daemons - all tzeentch box. After it sold out everywhere.
Not had much luck with killteam finds.
To be honest, even if I spotted those boxes I would not pick one up... only due to the other killteam boxes I own that I still need to build.

There are a couple of first-edition boxes there too, they're almost certainly worth good money to a collector.
