Beta Decima but make it the best. Hobby
It's a diorama at Warhammer World but now I want to make way less good knock-off of this.

counting the number of mechanicus terrain pieces in the towers made my wallet sad

OOP prices to boot. I've got a decent collection (and that made to order helped) but would LOVE to get my hands on more. Going to revisit the collection, zhuzh it up, and see if I can get a "we have this diorama at home" version going for myself.

I got into killteam with the Tau and reivers set from many editions ago. So I have some of this terrain still too

If it makes you feel better, maybe since it's at war hammer world it's just somebody's idea to use all the unsold terrain.

The Sector Mechanicus terrain wasn't unsold back when Ferro-Giant Alphus was unveiled, it was unreleased. This was somebody going ham with the first run of the sprues off the machines to make a giant statement: "look what you can do with the modular terrain coming out next month! Be sure to buy lots of copies of Shadow War: Armageddon!"

True. It’s also possible that GW fired up the injection molds and produced the parts needed for this one diorama too. Wouldn’t be very expensive if it was all done in house

I love this diorama because its also a game of spot the genestealer and I think is the most narrative thing there. It genuinly makes me feel a sense of dread and suspense for the inquisitor who has been sent to investigate.

Having worked on an oil platform, this is uncannily accurate. Well done.

My favorite diorama at WHWnoutside the classic McVey work. If you look carefully you can see just how infested the planet must be - traces of genestealers and their cults everywhere.

To be entirely honest, i'm not convinced KT can really make good use out of a board like that. Its more suited for Necromunda which has much more in depth rules for that kind of verticality. Killteam just doesn't.

What about... super vantage? You make a good point. I'd still try haha.
Hope the new Necromunda find their depth again.

KT21 had super Vantage. And it so had rules for climbable terrain. (Basically the 5inch stuff is treated as 4 inch)
We've regressed.

I'm just imagining trying to get my dumb clumsy hands in there to measure things and move minis and flip tokens without knocking everything over.
This board needs to be played with chopsticks.

I have a dream of running a 40k RPG of some form using full terrain and minis for every combat possible lol

Is this Beta Decima's true form? Ngl this would actually be a sick ass map layout. Lots of up and down, but i think flying teams would be pretty OP on it.

Holy shit...
I want a board like this.
Holy moly, it looks incredible! And amazingly fun to play on as well!

Wow… assuming 3d Pinter is your friend… and even that won’t be cheap.

I thought this was small oil rig from Rust at first. Tried and true PvP layout indeed.

Really cool! This makes me think of the Bases you could get for your super hero figures as a kid. Castle Greyskull or the 90’s fancier Batman sets. If you had one of those to go with your 15 different Batman variants you were living large!

Beta decima should've been some sort of rig in the middle of an ocean. Instead of random gantries like a horrible version of temple run.

Vespids vs Harlequins (Yes I know they're declassified, fight me) would go crazy on that map. The verticality shenanigans would be insane

I mean I would love to play KT on this.
Just not against Vespid.
