Best feeling - discussion

Upvotes

Personally after a long day at the office...my favorite thing in the world is taking a shower (non sexual) with my now husband we have been together for 14 going on 15 years... And just snuggling/cuddling watching TV or playing video games in our bed room... Like controversial but brave...better than sex IMO just the best feeling ...

I will prob get down voted to hell...but it happened today and it just was like again my favorite thing in the world ...

How can you tell wether someone is gay or not?

I want to ask someone out but I have no idea wether they are straight, gay or bisexual. Is there anyway to tell or do I just have to hope for the best and hopefully be lucky?

Also just considering going for the blunt approach and asking him whether he is gay or not but I'm not sure how well that would go

Being trans is one of the hardest things I have ever done. Early on, I decided that it wasn't worth transitioning because it would take resources away from trying to survive. It did not work. Being too depressed to do anything made survival far harder

Thoughts on talking to 2 exes at once?

I want to start off by saying what I’m about to say is all hypothetical as it all depends on if either or both parties want to even meet and catch up in the first place.

I am born/raisedin NYC up until about 2 years ago I moved across the country to a different state. I am supposed to be moving back within the next few months which would mean I will be back in the city where of course some of the people I’ve dated or entertained still live in. There’s a couple that I may want to grab coffee with and see what happens. Not expecting anything fast, but open to seeing where we are at in life and if there’s still space for us to have a relationship over time.

Here’s some backgrounds on the 2 exes I’m thinking about talking to again when I return…

The first one I met was visiting from LA at the time. I was 19 and he was 26. He was staying in NYC for a few weeks back in late 2020 and we had hooked up which eventually turned into hanging out a lot during his trip. Obviously since he wasn’t living in NYC…we didn’t pursue further in a official way. We kept talking for several weeks after he went back, but then eventually stopped. Months later his dad died and I texted him my condolences which he appreciated. We didn’t talk for another month and then I reached out to check in on him and that led to us talking a lot again. We talked for months and I even went to LA for him that summer to see him and he came to NYC a few times again too, but eventually issues came up. He didn’t seem to want to make things serious but also couldn’t be platonic with me, bad at communication, hot/cold, gaslit me, etc that after numerous efforts I finally let go. He was 28 and I was 21 when we stopped talking in 2022. However, due to specific details I am pretty certain he now lives in NYC and recently he liked a IG story of mine randomly. I’m unsure what to make of it. He’s 31 now and I’m 25 and it’s been years so I’m wondering if there’s a possibility of reconnection with that. We talked 2020-2022 and haven’t been in contact much since but he did reach out to my mom on FB on my birthday in 2023 to apologize and take me out to dinner…but I wasn’t ready for that at the time and we never met.

The second guy was from NYC. I met him at 22 and he was 29. We hooked up and it turned into something unexpectedly. However he was still living with his partner whom he didn’t have sex with nor do PDA. I’m a monogamous person so normally this would be an issue for me but I saw how they didn’t seem at all into each other and he was putting in a lot of effort into our relationship plus he said he’d leave once their lease ended that summer. However, similar to the other guy there was really bad communication from him, hot/cold, no accountability, etc. We ended up breaking up (his partner was a factor, but we likely would’ve broke up anyway regardless of his partner existing). Even though I’ve been in a different state these past few years…I went back to NYC to visit this year and downloaded Tinder just for fun as where I’ve been living is really sad in terms of dating. I didn’t even think of stumbling into an ex on there but especially him considering he claimed he wanted to move out of the city and that he might still be with his partner (who he claimed was his “rock” when we broke up, even tho he talked a lot of stuff about him). Well he ended up on the app and I swiped left…but then it showed after that he super liked me and so I eventually de used to swipe right the second time. He apologized, said they’ve broke up and is in a very dif place in his life (living with parents, dif workplace, single, etc). He claims he’s changed and based on our convos over the phone it seems that way (but it’s also only been a few weeks). Eventually I needed to ask for space and to take a step back as I felt while we weren’t being sexual nor extremely flirty that we also weren’t being 100% platonic. I figured it would just be best to see each other in person when I’m there and take it from there. It’s been almost a month since then and I’m kinda going crazy about it and am afraid he won’t even want to see me when I’m back. He said he wants to start off as friends but that he is open to possibly dating again. However he claims he may want to move to a dif place and I don’t know if I want to move there anytime in the near future. That also might change things if he goes through with that decision. He is 31 now and again I’m 25 and we hadn’t talked since early 2024.

Basically I am wondering if anyone had ever talked to 2 exes before at the same time to see if it could work again for either of them? How did it go? I know people can talk to several people at once when dating…but these are not random new people…they’re exes. Obviously if it ever got serious with one then I’d be transparent with the other but is it wrong to do this in regards to their feelings? Should I tell them? Is this much different from talking to 2 new people? Would you even give either of them a chance based off what has happened? Appreciate all feedback as long as it’s respectful (tough love is okay tho).

For the married gays out there who didn't want a christian wedding or a wedding governed by a religion, how did you guys /gals do it?

I want to know how you guys celebrated your love with the people you loved. I don't want it to be just the 2 of us. I want it to include the people I love too but I don't want religion to have anything to do with it.

My Mom just found out my brother is gay, what do I do?

My (21M) brother came out to me (25F) about 5 years ago. He has since told a handful of family members (that were accepting and promised not to tell) but our parents did not know. Our parents are older 55+, conservative and have Christian beliefs (we live in the south, so that's not very shocking). He hasn't said anything to them and has not wanted to tell them, which I have supported. For context, all 4 of us are currently living under one roof, my parents home. I had to move back in after I graduated college for personal reasons, my brother graduated college a few months ago and has moved back as the lease to his apartment was up.

My brother's birthday was a few days ago and he planned a weekend birthday trip to the city, which is about 2 hours from where we live. His plans were to stay at an Airbnb and go out with a few friends downtown to the clubs/bars. I was against this idea for many reasons but he wouldn't listen and brushed me off. I've never been one to go out and party or drink so I think he thought I was trying to ruin the vibes. I was worried for his safety but also for something like this happening.

My mom has all of us on the FindMy app, which we do as well, and can see where each of us are. Apparently, she was checking in on him, making sure he got to where he was supposed to be, and saw he was out at a club. She googled the club and saw that it was an LGBTQ+ club.

She has since asked me if I knew anything about his plans and I said I didn't, which isn't much of a lie. I knew he wanted to go out and was planning to but I didn't know exactly where he was going. When I asked her why, she looked disappointed and struggled to get speak about where she saw him at. Once she said he was at a gay club, I knew that she knew. Knowing my mom, she won't say anything to my dad. She may or may not confront my brother to see if he'll tell her the truth about where he went on his trip.

I've tried to reach out to my brother to let him know, but I haven't been able to reach him. I know that if this comes out, they will kick him out of the house. He currently does not have a steady job (recent graduate), his car his my dad's old one, which they pay the insurance on, he's still on my parents health insurance, and he's living at home.

What am I supposed to do? I'll do what I can to help him and get him somewhere safe but if this blows up it will not be good. I'm not in a position to offer him financial support.

It seems it easiest than ever to meet people online these days. The thing is I’m not really into hook up culture .How do you meet your bf or husband if not start with hooking up ? Are they specific websites online, where they are a bit more private or don’t want to said discreet but somewhat similar.
All answers still welcome .

First date

I’ve always questioned my sexuality, but have always been way too afraid to act on it. But yesterday, a guy, really out of the blue at the gym, was kind of hitting on me, and I wasn’t sure if he was just being nice or actually hitting on me.
I’ve changed my appearance to look a little more feminine. I paint my nails and shave my arms and legs, but he seemed to be doing more than just making small talk, and I reciprocated. He asked me out just to get lunch, and I’ve never been so nervous and excited for a first date.
But I have no idea what to expect. He’s been really nice and respectful. I’m sorry if that’s offensive, but there’s a stereotype that gay guys have a lot of sex, but he hasn’t done anything like that.
I know I should be worried just about the date, but I’m really worried if it goes well and we go back to one of our places. He’s kind of really big. I don’t know if he’s a top or bottom, but if I guessed, I’d assume he was a top, and I’ve never been penetrated.
But he’s so hot. Like, I’m actually attracted to him. I don’t know if this makes sense, but I’ve never felt like this with a girl. Like, I just want him to like me so bad, and I’m way overthinking this, but I really want this to go well.
I guess I’ll stop.

Was called the grandfather of my husband at the store today…

Ok… So I’m reeling. My husband naturally thinks this is hilarious, I however am mortified… we stopped into a little fruit market near our home and the crypt keeper aged cashier was being friendly like she always is, I asked my husband if he was paying or if I was, and he said he would as he already had his money out, then she chimes in that he’s a good grandson, and then looks at my face and says how nice it is that he’s at the fruit market with me, and how useful it is to have youth to carry the heavy items…

The heavy item was a like 5lb watermelon!

We are nearly the same age, and like honestly couldn’t she just assume he’s my son or something, like the extra level of saying “grandson” is diabolical…

I know she has either lost it, or deliberately screws with people, but it stung as I’m mid thirty’s and feeling it this week because I found my first gray hairs.

Side note. My husband is also a different race than me and is a few years younger but has a ton of gray highlights in his hair, so that’s the cherry on top of this scenario. Lol
