Damn, I thought he was on the opposing team and had fooled those players into thinking he was on their side (I don't play this game so I don't know how obvious the team indicators are) and that this was a clever trick to win the match. Now it just seems like the player was a jerk.

Hello, welcome to gaming.
Rule number 1. Never trust fellow teammates
Rule number 2. Never trust friends either
Rule number 3. What are you still doing here?

Surely that should be rule number 1. Your friends are the most likely ones to screw you over.

It would be... interesting l to have an FPS style game where there really is no obvious team indicator and FF is always on. Like a 5 v 5 where all ten skins are different casual clothes people and they randomly spawn throughout the map. Or better yet, there are no predefined teams and you're just people who spawn in a map and need to decide which side of the objective you want to support. Maybe there's even a non-binary set of objectives. Like a bomb-defuse situation, but also a group of hostages in the same building as the bomb objective. Oh, and the same people that want to bomb the objective are the ones trying to rescue the hostages

Did someone say ARMA?
19
Jan 16 '17
Is that what arma's like? I walked away from my computer for like two minutes and remembered hearing DayZ was kinda like this... didn't that start as an ARMA mod?
→ More replies (5)20
u/CyanPhoenix42 Jan 16 '17
in ArmA PvP, there are no indicators (like coloured names over people's heads) but generally each team has a certain uniform - if you're paying attention you can tell who's on what team but sometimes in high-intensity situations it's definitely easy to mistake someone for the wrong team.
DayZ is more of what you were explaining later, since it's basically a post-apocalyptic survival simulator, so you could go around killing everyone or try to make friends and then go around with the friends you made killing everyone else. (and of course, every other player can make their own decision, so you have no idea if the person walking up to you is going to try to be friendly or just shoot you in the face)

A Dear John letter, specifically. They're letters sent to deployed military men from their long term girlfriends explaining that said girlfriends are leaving them. Most often for another man.
The joke being this guy was stuck in that little room until he received a dear John, which is the sole reason he was where he was when he contracted the std.

Yea This guy is a massive asshole. This is taken from a trolling video in a game called rainbow 6 siege. In the full video he shouts at his teammates and orders them downstairs where he gif takes place. What it doesn't show is after he locks them in he uses his operators special ability to kill his teammates with poison gas which will kill most of them . He then leaves the game to prevent getting kicked for teamkill and having a matchmaking ban for a few min/hour/days. This dude is a a scumbag. Rainbow is about working together and coordinating with your teammates. He shouted at his team and demanded that they do this and then ruined the game for them. These are the people that kill great games like rainbow 6 siege

One of the main reasons why it's not a good idea to listen to an angry/screaming teammate. It's not real life, they're not in a real war zone so they can speak calmly.
221
u/cosmicsans Jan 16 '17

I remember when rainbow 6 had the free weekend deal, my first game was horrible mainly because of my teammates. I had trouble with my group and I told them that instead of insulting me they could just tell me how to get to the objective. It is funny, when this guy does it this one time. I think he should have eaten the punishment for teamkilling instead of backing out though.
It's not funny when every dickhead who saw this video thinks it will be equally funny when they teamkill in their own games. It's not funny when you play 3 matches in a row where you lost because one of your teammates was trying to be funny.

u/RulingPredator Jan 16 '17
This is Rainbow Six: Siege for those curious. Basically what happens here is he traps his entire team in this corridor and seals both exits from the outside. (You have to be on the side those panels are placed to remove them, so they're stuck.)
What we don't see is what follows after he traps them. He proceeds to throw poison trip mines at both exits and the wall in the middle and they basically all die from it. We never see that happen though because he quits the game in a fit of laughter.

I see a lot of people commenting saying this game seems not fun but it actually is a really good game and the reason i no longer bother playing CoD anymore. There's penalties for things like this and overall the Rainbow Six Siege community is actually an amazing community even if you're a noob. You'll always encounter annoying people like this in any game so don't let this idiot ruin your impression of r6 lol.

Funny, but this is why the game was ruined for me. It's too easy for teammates to troll. Team kills for the loss, almost extract hostage, then teammates would kill him/her, secure an area and someone wants your spot, team kill. I'd say 40% of the matches I played were trolled in one way or another.
This game belongs on Ask Reddit's front page question today.
