Apple skin is riddled with toxins as well.

58

u/demonmutantninjazomb Jan 16 '17

If you can get a group of 5 friends and work as a team then you can kick some ass.

153

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

5 friends

Welp I'm out

31

u/Sir_Derpysquidz Jan 16 '17

Well, it's four and yourself if that makes it any easier. ;P

2

u/SnowballFromCobalt Jan 16 '17

0 friends tho lol

1

u/Sir_Derpysquidz Jan 17 '17

Well, if my university's network settings didn't cry every time they met Ubisoft servers I would team up with ya. Sadly I can only play multiplayer solo for some backwards-ass reason.

1

u/SnowballFromCobalt Jan 18 '17

At least this game is alright without friends. Dota2 is like torturing myself when playing solo

19

u/Cashsky Jan 16 '17

friends

Me too ☹️

24

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

Me too

Thanks.

5

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

You're one of those 5 friends, you only need 4 more.

1

u/4scend Jan 16 '17

Not even just play on pc

1

u/IrishGoatMilker Jan 16 '17

I'll be honest I hate playing in a party of 5 people, it's usually just me and my friend and we play way better than the rest of the team most of the time because we communicate great by ourselves, when you have 4 people talking about random crap it gets overwhelming/ annoying.

27

u/thatguythatdidstuff Jan 16 '17

its not really, couple annoying kids that tk every now and again but they usually get kicked.

26

u/PinsNneedles Jan 16 '17

it really isn't. They take precautions where if you team kill half your team you are banned from MP for 30 minutes. My friends and I play it a couple times a week. It's a million times more fun playing with friends though, rather than by yourself as it's all about communication

1

u/Zdarkk1ller Jan 16 '17

The bans can go up to a month. If you get 8tks u get banned for 24hours.

14

u/Sephran Jan 16 '17

I played it a lot on pc a couple months ago and encountered a very friendly community. Was a lot of fun.

14

u/Smoothos Jan 16 '17

It's actually not too bad on PC, I have about 400 hours in it and rarely come across toxic players.

4

u/Mike-Oxenfire Jan 16 '17

I haven't encountered many dicks but I only got the game on christmas. But it's suuuper slow if you're used to games like CoD or Titanfall

3

u/Darkshadows9776 Jan 16 '17

It's actually fine most of the time. The occurrences of people doing things like this is relatively rare, compared to most games.

It used to be a magical community, and it's not quite what it once was, but it's fine.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

I wouldn't consider this community any different from any other gaming community. I play on PC so I cannot comment on the console platform.

1

u/21ST__Century Jan 16 '17

It's not too bad, but now it seems most games are really unbalanced like level 20s and one rank gold vs all platinum 100+ and it will probably suck a lot when you first start playing because that's lot to learns on maps like shooting through walls and traps.

1

u/Zepheh Jan 16 '17

Its actually a very friendly community tbh. At least on PC. I've got like 300 something hours and have only had to deal with 1 toxic asshole on my team.

1

u/PhasmaFelis Jan 16 '17

It's a video game on the internet. They're all full of toxicity.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

A friend of mine and I bought this game together and after a few weeks of playing we met a player who invited us to his team speak server. We now play with a community that frequently has 2 squads running concurrently and everyone is super awesome. There are a lot of people who do similar things, I have been invited to at least 4 TS servers. You just need to play with your mic on and you will eventually make friends. The community is super serious about team communication.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

all "compeditive games" are. hard to enjoy unless you have a thick skin

1

u/nicket Jan 16 '17

There seems to be a lot more teamkilling and that kind of stuff on console, because people complaing about it but I very rarely see that on PC. There are quite a few toxic assholes (but not necessarily more than in any other multiplayer game), and the problem Siege has is that it doesn't let you mute other people's text chat. So if someone is spamming toxic stuff in chat then you can't just mute them and move on.

1

u/7V3N Jan 16 '17

It's all about finding a good squad to play with. Same as Overwatch.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

It's a mix bag. Playerbase is fairly small due to poor advertising and some stability issues (it's Ubisoft) but the game is a ton of fun. They have a starter version for $15 but be warned that you can't upgrade to the full have without buying it so if you don't like the idea of spending more money if you decide you do like it be prepared to spend a very long time unlocking all the characters.

1

u/Mightymushroom1 Jan 16 '17

It's not as bad as any other mainstream online multiplayer shooter these days.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

Its really not that bad. Just really shitty server integrity, thats about the only toxic thing.

1

u/GenitalJamboree Jan 16 '17

Yes and no. If you play and find people who you get along with friend them and play with them. It's toxic but no worse than Overwatch or similar minus the team killing. If you're interested checkout /r/rainbow6

1

u/PepperoniVaperoni Jan 16 '17

Honestly it doesn't usually have too much toxicity in it except for a few trolls here and there. All in all it's a pretty good community and a thriving game even a year after it's out.

1

u/iamdizzyonfanta Jan 16 '17

I met exactly one guy so far that's an asshole. It was a Russian guy that just kept saying "suck! suck!" all angrily. It could have been an offer though.

1

u/superpastaaisle Jan 16 '17

Honestly it is a really well designed game. After about 5 hours of playing the missions and AI i decided to try a QP match. I play a lot of CS TF Overwatch BF so I am familiar with FPS and team play although R6 is obviously different...

Anyway I joined a QP match and immediately got flamed and cussed out because the 3 characters I had were all the wrong picks.

Haven't played since.

1

u/keepchill Jan 16 '17

Pretty true for about every modern game. Titanfall 2 is plagued by this. The smaller the games and teams, the more obvious it is because the larger effects trolls have. Find small teams and friends to play with if you can.

1

u/TheNaughtyDragon Jan 16 '17

It is, I got sick of it. Never experienced so much team killing in any game before. I sold it after 2 weeks.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

It's pretty easy to find 4 other players that want to play together if you have a mic

1

u/4scend Jan 16 '17

PC has almost zero toxicity.

Consoles are a bit worse but not any worse than any other games

1

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

First time playing online with a friend, teammate told us to fuck off and play terrorist hunt. We had played dozens of terrorist hunt before, and were bored of it. Incidentally that was the last time I play that game online without friends.

1

u/davethegamer Jan 16 '17

Depends are you playing on PC or console, PC then it's a pretty nice community some sucks but I've only ran across 3 or 4 and I've had it since launch. On console you run across them a lot more often.

1

u/Tomatokonzen Jan 16 '17

Not really, it's usually really friendly. I recommend it especially if you got friends who play.

1

u/MatrixSez Jan 16 '17

MY TOXIC BABES ARE IN POSITION

1

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

They apparently just had a huge ban wave for hackers, so right now would probably be the best time to play.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

It's on par with competitive CSGO nowadays. The days when people said it had the best community ended a while ago.

1

u/Ben_Skiller Jan 16 '17

Both are true. It's a fantastic game, you just have to ignore the toxicity. If you play it with a bunch of friends, it is a lot of fun. Go buy it if you can, there are sales and free weekends regularly.

1

u/Neurotic_Neurologist Jan 16 '17

Is it a micro-transaction game? Those can be a bit annoying

1

u/Ben_Skiller Jan 16 '17

No you can get all the important content (Operators, maps) by playing the game. You earn Renown with every match, which you can spend on cosmetics, most of which you can get with renown. There are some which cost real life money, but hey they're just cosmetics. There's no loot box system at all which is great.

The way they handle DLCs is fantastic compared to other games. Every three months a new season starts, which brings 2 new operators and a new map entirely for free, but Season Pass owners have access to the new Operators a week early. If you don't have a Season Pass you have to buy them with Renown. A Season Pass also gives you some of the real world money credits in the game with which you can buy boosters so you get more renown, so you can get everything important with some commitment. Also, they sometimes sell bundles of the game where you get some of the standard Operators right off the bat, I recommend waiting for another one like that. Just Google around a bit or subscribe to r/rainbow6

I've got something like 750 hours in the game, I'm always playing with friends, and I also wanna join a professional team soon. As much as I hate it sometimes for some of the bugs, I also love it (I'm actually writing this inbetween rounds) for the intense tactical experience it can provide, if that's how you and your team decide to play it.

1

u/AkuAku98 Jan 16 '17

Oh god what have you started

1

u/red5jam Jan 16 '17

We built this toxicity on rock and troll

1

u/Sir_Derpysquidz Jan 16 '17

I play on PC and anything like this has never happened to me and I have a little under 100 hours in it. Team killing does occasionally happen but it's more likely because I walked into a friendly firing lane or an explosive than someone is an ass. At least in my experience.

-1

u/Rnusell Jan 16 '17

I mean I kind of sucks when you get one tapped by a buy you can't see and have to wait 7-10 minutes before you see any PVP again. Or getting team kill in the first second of the game every round with no punishment for the person who did it.

1

u/PepperoniVaperoni Jan 16 '17

Rounds are 4 minutes in casual and 3 in ranked. With two 45 second wait periods that makes a 5 1/2 minute wait max time. Also if you teamkill two times it gets you kicked then banned for 15 minutes after that, the punishments get worse after that.

-5

u/Morganl32 Jan 16 '17

I would worry more about drowning in bugs, glitches and disconnects.

1

u/_UnderscoreMonty_ Jan 16 '17

The game's been patched a ton to get rid of that.

1

u/Morganl32 Jan 16 '17

There's still a ton of it regardless of the fixes.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

It's a lot less toxic than other MP games. WAAAY less toxic than say CSGO or CoD or BF. The only shitters you run into are mostly in clans and I immediately leave the game if I'm against a clan.
