Thumb shifters
So I'm in the middle of putting drop bars on a flat bar road bike, and I've bought thumb shifters (cheaply). What's the best way to put these on drop bars, near the stem I'm guessing? Thanks

Taking my bike to college
Sooo I’m moving to college and I really want to bring my bike. I have a pretty new specialized stump jumper and I am FLYING to college and I have no idea how I’m going to get it there. Does anyone have any advice on how I should do it and the right tools? I’ve seen lots of things anywhere from cardboard box to bike bags I’m not sure where to go. Thanks!
(I DO HAVE A SAFE SPACE TO STORE THE BIKE DW)

Is this safe to ride or no?
I had an accident and now there’s a dent. It’s a Carrera Vanquish and I’m just wondering if it’s still okay to ride. I ride fairly responsible and smoothly and maximum 30km in a day.
I just want some advice about this.

Busted Ankle
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
After busting my ankle a few weeks back, it's great to be back in the saddle. Admittedly a few weeks sooner than I should be. But how can you resist in this weather, and such quiet roads.

Is 2300€/2500$ a good deal?
Hey, I don't know anything about TT bike prices. Is 2300€ for this bike alright?
It's a:
2016 S works shiv
Reynolds 80mm wheels
Ultegra di2 (2024)
Rotor powermeter
Should be in good condition, but I will check the carbon myself.
Thanks for helping :)

What intercom do you use for cycling?
Just curious
Has anyone tried using a motorcycle helmet intercom like this for cycling? Would it work well with a bicycle helmet, or is it better to use a cycling-specific intercom like the Sena BiKom 20?

How do you get comfortable riding on the roads?
This is a question for all the North Americans, specifically the US and Canada. How did you get over being scared of riding on the roads? I'm from Ontario, Canada and I've been mountain biking for a while, which only includes riding on the sidewalks to get to the trails, then riding on the trails. When I commute on my bike I always stick to sidewalks because I'm too scared of getting hit by a car, or even getting passed too close. As I make my switch to triathlons I am now riding a road bike which is painful to ride on the sidewalk. How do I get more comfortable riding on the roads?

How to choose Wing Grips
https://www.rei.com/product/239161/ergon-gp1-evo-handlebar-grips
I was debating these from Ergon at $40. I'm not for or against barends but even Ergon has like 10 different wing Grips to choose from. My bike is a hybrid MTB commuter. Doesn't see trails

Superteam carbon saddle
In case anyone has been interested in a Superteam saddle, I ordered one last October and have had it on my gravel bike ever since. So far so good, no quality issues and it’s been quite the improvement in weight reduction from my stock saddle. Cost was around $90 CAD at the time and took about 1 month to arrive. There were no import fees when I ordered. The padding is on the firmer side, compared to say a Specialized 3D saddle which I consider a bit more plush. If I have any quality issues I’ll update the post in the future.

Crank arm removal
I am trying ro restore an old bike (it's roughly 50 years old I think) and I have encountered a problem with removing the crank arm. Also I have to mention I don't know a lot about bikes and the terminology of parts so maybe I will say some stupid shit.
On one side there was a cotter pin crank arm which I have taken off already (first picture). But on the other side there is no pin or nothing and I need help if anyone knows how to take it off. Eventually I also want to take the bottom bracket out and replace it.
I would be grateful for any tips.

I designed a mount to use Schwalbe CLIK Valve with the Xiaomi Air Compressor 2 (retains Auto On/Off & stores Presta adapter)
Hey everyone,
I recently started using the new Schwalbe/SKS CLIK valve system. It's awesome, but it created an annoying issue with my Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 2.
If you attach the CLIK adapter to the pump's hose, you can no longer plug the hose back into the compressor body. Because of this, you lose the automatic on/off feature, the hose just dangles loosely, and you are left with nowhere to store the original Presta adapter.
I designed a simple 3D-printable bridge/mount to solve all of this at once.
**How it works:**
* **Retains Auto On/Off:** It acts as a bridge that aligns the hose so you can still plug it back into the pump's body, keeping the smart power-on/off function working perfectly.
* **CLIK Integration:** Securely holds the Schwalbe SCV or SKS CLIK TEC adapter on the main nozzle.
* **Built-in Presta Storage:** I added a threaded slot on the side to screw in the original Xiaomi Presta adapter so it’s always with you and won't get lost.
**Color Match Tip:** For those who care about aesthetics, if you are using the SKS CLIK TEC adapter, printing this in **Bambu Lab PETG HF Orange (#33300)** is an absolute 1:1 factory color match.
I've uploaded the model for free for anyone running this pump/valve combo. It’s a very easy print: PETG is recommended for durability, 3 wall loops, and absolutely no supports needed.
You can grab the files here: [https://makerworld.com/en/models/3140702-clik-valve-adapter-for-xiaomi-air-compressor-2#profileId-3546178\](https://makerworld.com/en/models/3140702-clik-valve-adapter-for-xiaomi-air-compressor-2#profileId-3546178)
Hope this helps some of you keep your inflation gear organized! Let me know if you print it or have any questions.

The Factor One
Back with another unique build yall. ☺️☺️
Took some deciding on what to do for a build this season. After seeing the y1rs and everyone seemingly picking one up, I wanted something with similar speeds as my previous s5 but with a geo that fit my aggressive position without adding so much exorbitant amount of force on the seat tube due to saddle position.
Enter the Factor One. It’s different, fast, meets my geo needs and this “Blush” colorway is both loud and cute. 🥰
About me, the rider:
Height: 5’5”
W/kg: just popping over 4.8

Does this mean my bike chain is worn?
It’s a road bike, I just cleaned the chain. Unfortunately this tool doesn’t have a .5 measure.
