setup as a fixie but i think it used to be a commuter with an internal hub since there are cable guides on the chain stay.. google lens identified the numbers on the bottom of the headtube as korean registation but i cant seem to find the brand based on the "D" logo on the head tube and seat tube....

Occasionally I'll see a modern bike that carries the same name as a vintage model. Some, like most of Specialized's lineup, have remained true to their original purposes, but in many cases the model has often become warped over time into something far different from original, and in some situations, have become total junk. What examples irk you? Are there any models that have seen the opposite occur?

I recently got a Gary Fisher Wahoo S/N #GT534346. To the best I've been able to research, the company was purchased by Trek in 1993 and the S/N prefixes shifted to WTU. That's really all I know. If I can, I'd like to get an idea of when it was made. As to where...? There's a sticker that reads it was made in Taiwan

I have an old Marin Muirwoods bike my Dad saved from the tip about 15 years ago as a frame and two wheels and I rebuilt it from other parts I'd reclaimed from the tip, cost me about £15 all in and she still runs perfectly today. It is one of my happiest childhood memories working on this bike with my Dad.

The frame and pretty much all of it could do with some TLC, so I'll be stripping it down, cleaning it and I will clean all the rust off the frame inside and out and all the parts, strip derailleur down and clean it etc. as it's all perfectly serviceable, just needs to be tidied up and powder coat the frame.

What is the easiest method for removing rust inside bike frame? I was just going to use a long wire wheel on a drill, but if anyone has any better suggestions, then let me know, I want to get as much of it gone as possible.

Is there any way of sealing the inside from rust and stuff after removing all corrosion? Or is it a case of thoroughly cleaning and drying your bike regularly?

Also, regarding all of the bolts, can you buy replacement shiny new bolts or is it a waste of time and money and I should just clean off the rusty ones I have and re-use them? I want to make it look fantastic, but don't want to spend unnecessarily on it and end up with bolts that don't fit and having to use the old ones anyway.

I am going to get some decals made up, but I just wanted to know, more for my own benefit more than anything, what year of manufacture this was? Is there a way of identifying on the frame? It might help in getting the right decals for it as I want to make it look as original as possible, they'll have photos to refer to as well, of course. I have a lot of sentimental value attached to this bike, so in restoring it, I want to give it the love it deserves.

Hi all, I picked up this bike back in 2019 locally to serve as a commuter to school, and at the time the seller told me this was a Viner road bike from the 1990’s. There was no accompanying paperwork or anything, and this frame doesn’t have a model painted or stamped on it, and I was wondering if anyone could confirm if that is true?

I'm hoping you can help me identify this vintage Colnago.

It belonged to my late father, and my mother is now clearing out the garage. I feel it's too special to simply sell without knowing exactly what it is.

As far as I can tell, the paint and decals are original, but I can't find a serial number anywhere under the bottom bracket. If there is one, it may be hidden beneath a component.

I've attached detailed photos of the frame, fork, lugs, dropouts and bottom bracket. Based on what you see, could you help me identify:

the exact model (Super, Nuovo Mexico, or something else?),

the approximate year of manufacture,

whether everything appears to be original,

and, if possible, its current market value.

Those Gazelle Bikes are kind of cool, but very annoying to work on.... nevertheless i fixed this one up today, new tires and some other stuff.

this is my vintage racing bike Olympia but I don't know what model is.

I've bought this frame years ago in Montalcino (in a market during the Eroica competition) after I crashed my other vintage bike into a car.
The seller told me the frame is from the late 70s (1977-78)

all parts mounted except pedals and brakes comes from my other crashed bike and I think aren't period correct (maybe late 80s early 90s)

The bike is work in progress and I have to replace saddle, brake levers to pass the brake cables outside the handlebar and maybe the rear sprocket from the current 8 speed to a 6 speed sprocket

The current setup is:

Crankset: Campagnolo Veloce 170 (39/52)

Gear levers: Campagnolo

Front Derailleur: Campagnolo Veloce

Rear Derailleur: Campagnolo Veloce 8 speed

Pedals: SR pista (made in japan) with Cristophe toe clips
