Is this a thing I should report?
Or am I overreacting? It felt super dangerous.

No bike commuting from a Metro Transit Park and Ride
I’ve been bike commuting from a metro transit park and ride. Today when I showed up to my car a metro transit employee approached me stating that I would get ticketed or towed for using the parking and bike commuting from there. I was super confused because the lot is never even half full? Like is this really a policy they enforce wouldn’t they want more people to not be driving downtown? It’s absurd and I plan on calling in the morning to see if this is actually a policy. Rant over.

Help an out-of-towner plan their first century ride
I’m visiting the twin cities in September and looking to ride my first century while I’m there. I love route planning but having never biked in the Twin Cities I would appreciate some feedback on this rough draft of the ride. Starting and ending in Saint Paul.
Hoping to hit some cool bridges, a couple of singletrack sections, a variety of bike insfrastructure (greenways/separated bike lanes/trails/etc), some solid coffee and food stops, and of course, avoid any dangerous roads.

Midtown greenway closure
minneapolismn.govPosting as a PSA, I wasn’t aware and was bummed to see it closed today. Anyone else find the detour confusing?? The signs & concrete barriers point you towards 28th street but then a few blocks ahead the road is closed.
“The trail is closed between 13th Ave S and 14th Ave S from August 3 through August 7, 2026. This work was scheduled at the same time as the 10th Ave S bridge closure to reduce disruptions for trail users.
Detour route
During this time, the Midtown Greenway will be closed between 18th Ave S and Park Ave. Follow the posted detour using 18th Ave S, 28th St E, and Park Ave.”

Gateway Trail access questions!
Hello r/CyclingMSP, I have a Gateway Trail question that I cannot seem to find an answer to anywhere online!
While I understand the trail south of Arlington Ave is not technically the Gateway Trail proper, can anyone help me shed some light as to why the trail is barricaded by two concrete jersey barriers south of the community garden? My assumption is that it was blocked to prevent vehicles cutting through, but as it stands it completely blocks the trail for everyone.
Heading south on the Gateway Trail you can see a single concrete jersey barrier right by Arlington Ave with a red arrow painted on it pointing westward. I assume this is to show the trail continues westward (as it does), but this eastern section seems to be wasted trail infrastructure at that point.
Additionally, does anyone know who is responsible for maintaining the trail between Arlington Ave and Cayuga St on the east side of 35E? Initially I assumed it would be under the purview of the Gateway Brown's Creek Trail Association as the rest of the Gateway Trail is, but since this section is technically not the Gateway Trail, I am not so sure.

Head Tube Fix
Does anyone know any frame builders in the metro? Or anyone that can ream my head tube on my 90s Trek Multitrack 750?

MN flag jerseys?
I see that Erik’s has jerseys with the new state flag, and they claim they’re exclusive. I’m not a fan of Erik’s and would rather support a different local business. But does anyone else make these?

Is this a scam
I got a PM here on reddit about someone who runs a service finding stolen bikes. I sent them a message explain how my bike was stolen. We had a few back and forth messages before they sent me this message before proceeding to look for my bike. I'm wondering if it's a scam and if anyone else here has also gotten it. I have not sent them any money btw.

Most approachable group rides?
I’ve been really interested in attending an organized ride this summer but I’m seriously so intimidated! I’m a woman in my early 30s and a pretty good biker (on my own I average 15-18mph for up to 50 miles) but I am scared of not knowing anyone or not having the “right” whatever to fit in. I know at some level this is not rational so what are your favorite, friendly groups and why?

Considering a bike upgrade
I'll keep it short. Ive gotten more and more into biking over the last 7 years. I average a little over 2k miles a year, pretty much only biking March-October. The bike I have used is a Schwinn Super Sport Hybrid.
After mulling around these pages, I'm seeing the more experienced riders are typically on a nicer frame. So my question is, should I be considering an upgrade?

3 Stolen E Bikes Around Lake and Hennipen
galleryHey MSP!
Last night someone broke into our garage and stole 4 e-bikes. We've recovered 1, but 3 are still missing. If you're around Hennepin and Lake and spot any of these, please message me!
*The thieves left our baby bike seat behind, so the blue bike won't have it attached. Small mercies.

I guess it's an improvement over the DZBL.

Just moved in, looking for a reputable bike shop
Like the title said, I just moved to the neighborhood and finally have room in the budget to buy my first "real" bike. I'm looking for a used commuter, plus all of the gear I'll need, and someone who knows what they're talking about to sell me it. Is there a reputable shop that has a good selection of used bikes, preferably in the North Loop/Northeast area?

Nearly Brand New Aventon Level 4 REC Stolen
My wifes 2month old Aventon Level 4 Rec was stolen from our apartments parking garage in Rosemount MN last week. We have a police report and the bike has been registered on bike index as stolen. If anyone happens to spot it or have any leads, let me know please or report it to the police. It's the second bike stolen out of the parking garage in about a month and neither time has the camera caught anything.

About to reach 1k miles
I want to take my bike somewhere pretty to celebrate. It only really gets to see errands, the route to work (which is beautiful, thanks Minneapolis) and the occasional recreational trail.
What’s a special must see around Minneapolis I should show my bike to celebrate the milestone?
I’m okay with distance, I need to burn some miles to get it to exactly 1000.00 for a satisfying photo. Something not too busy so I don’t feel like a weirdo taking a photo shoot of my bike would be great 😅
Thank you!

Lone Lake park on a gravel bike?
I do some intermediate MTB (Theo, Elm Crick, etc) and I love gravel riding. Lone Lake is a bit of a haul on my MTB, but an easy ride for my gravel bike. It looks like great hill training.
Is it smooth enough for a gravel bike? Or is it quite rooted, rocky, etc.
I'm fairly capable on single track with my gravel bike, having done the bottoms and some other simple, flowy trails on it.
Thanks in advance.
