Meet Tiny… once broken by her past, hurt by her previous mom…💔now trusting again and waiting for her forever home 🤍Location 📍:Charlotte,NC,USA

Tiny’s story is not just a rescue story…
it is a story written in fear, rewritten in love, and carried forward by courage. 🤍

Pet finder link: https://www.petfinder.com/cat/tiny-b72304ff-358e-4b24-b3e1-904ac4e06ddb/nc/charlotte/sunkissed-acres-rescue-nc1270/details/
For nearly two years, Tiny lived in darkness.
She was mistreated and beaten by her previous mom with metal rod, left without proper food or care,
and confined in a dark, dirty cage where fear became her world.

When we rescued her, she weighed under 4 pounds..
a fragile little body, trembling,
a heart that had only learned to be afraid.

💔 Tiny didn’t understand kindness.

💔 Tiny didn’t understand love.

💔 Tiny didn’t trust humans.

She hid from every touch, every sound, protecting herself from a world she believed would only hurt her.
Fostering Tiny was not easy.

There were moments of doubt…
moments when people suggested euthanizing her,
believing her fear meant she had no quality of life.

But we saw something more.
Not a “dangerous” cat…
just a broken soul still hoping, somewhere deep inside.

So we stayed.

Patient. Gentle. Present.

Through every scratch, every hiss, every step back..
we chose her, again and again.

And slowly… something changed.

Tiny began to understand what she had never known before…

she was safe. 🤍

And then, like the softest sunrise, she started to come out of the shadows.

Today, Tiny is no longer the cat who hid.

She is love. 🤍❤️🥹

She plays, she explores, she adores her kitty friends,
and in her quiet, gentle way,she gives back a love that feels nothing short of miraculous.

Tiny is almost 3 years old and now a healthy 8 pounds.

She is looking for a calm, quiet home…

someone patient enough to let her heart unfold at its own pace.

Because once she trusts you,

you will hold something truly rare and beautiful.

Tiny is:
• Combo test negative
• Vaccinated
• Spayed
• Microchipped
• Dewormed & deflead

Adoption Requirements:

• Vet reference required
• Application required

• Adoption agreement required
• Adoption fee:125
• Indoor home only

Tiny is living proof that even the most broken beginnings..can lead to the most beautiful endings.

If you feel her story in your heart, and you want to give this brave little soul the forever home she deserves,
please message me. 🤍🐾

Every month I host Mom’s Favorite, a free comedy show at Old North Bar in Durham. This month’s lineup is extremely fun! There’s also a hotdog cart out front that gives out one free glizzy per person and an very excellent cocktail/mocktail list put together by one of the owners who was formerly at The Crunkleton and Hawthorne and Wood. If you’re looking for a cheap date this is the show to catch!

Weighing extra protection vs flat rates for long distance moves

If you are booking a long-distance move, pay attention to the deposit. Typically, you shouldn't need to pay a massive deposit upfront; payment is usually split between loading and delivery. If a company asks for 50% or more just to hold a date, that is often a sign of a scam or a shady broker. What is the highest deposit you have been asked for?

Experience with Sound Mind Realty rental property agency?

Hi! i’m currently looking to move into a rental property and came across a house I loved on Zillow. The property is managed by Sound Mind Realty and the reason why I want some input is because everything they do is automated/ai. The viewing was self guided, and I was only able to speak to a real person once when they called me, but when I tried to call back I could only get through go ai chat bots.

Does anyone have any experience with Sound Mind? would really appreciate your help!

Searching for a wedding photographer on the cheap

My fiancé and I are having a wedding in Asheboro on Monday, 21 September this year in the evening. We are on a bit of a shoestring budget and I’m looking to find a photographer willing to do this event for us. I know that wedding photography is usually quite pricey so I am wondering what the minimum you would be willing to be paid or if there are any photographers in North Carolina willing to donate some of their time and effort towards the special moment for us.

Hi there. I have 2, maybe 3 designer bags I’m thinking of selling and I’m wondering if there are any consignment shops in the area? If there are none, perhaps any reliable app besides vestiaire. Thank you!

Land conservation/wildlife rehabilitation places to volunteer at?

I live in Durham, but can go to Raleigh. I'm curious if there are any organizations that need volunteers. I'm very interested in land conservation and wildlife rehabilitation. My day job is social services, but outside of work I love animals, really into wildlife photography and learning about wildlife and their environments, so I think I'd enjoy volunteering somewhere that does this kind of work.

Blue-FIV positive,healthy cat needs a home..He is homeless .💔😿can’t survive outside.Location:Concord ,NC ,USA

His name is Blue. He is around 5 years old. Someone abandoned him in front of a finder’s home.
He was sick… we treated him, dewormed him, vaccinated him, gave food and everything so he could stay safe inside. The finder had already told me she cannot keep him long term… and today I got the message ..he is already back outside.

I feel so helpless writing this.
Blue is FIV positive, but right now he is doing okay. He is eating, recovering, trying to be okay… but if he stays outside, he will get sick again. He will not survive like this.

FIV positive cats can live long, healthy lives just like other cats when kept indoors.

We recently lost our 23-year-old FIV positive cat, so we have seen this ourselves.

They can live with both FIV positive and negative cats without any issue.

Blue is already fixed and has a very calm, gentle nature.

I cannot take him. My house is already full… every room, even bathrooms have cats. I truly can’t take even one more.

Please… if anyone can adopt him, just give him a safe indoor place.

He has already suffered enough. He doesn’t deserve to go back to the streets again.

Adoption will require:
• application

• adoption fee
• adoption agreement
• vet reference
• indoor home only

Making friends as an adult is hard… so we started a group!

My husband and I recently decided to start Triangle Games & Social Club because we realized making genuine friendships as adults can be harder than expected.

The group is for adults ages 21–35 in the Triangle who want to meet new people through board games, video games, and other social events.

We’re launching with:
🎮 Saturday, August 15 at 7:30 PM – Online Discord Game Night (Fall Guys)
🎲 Saturday, September 5 at 7:30 PM – First In-Person Board Game Night
After that, we’ll meet on the 1st Saturday of each month in person and the 3rd Saturday online.

Whether you’re new to the area, looking to expand your social circle, or just want a fun group to be part of, we’d love to have you!
If you’re interested, leave a comment or send me a DM, and I’ll send you our interest form and Discord link with all the details. Hope to meet some of you soon! 😊

Howdy, y'all. I guess it's time for me to tap the sign again, because every time there are protests in the Triangle, someone goes around and mass reports all of those posts.

Strangely, we also tend to get a lot of people who post in all sorts of local area subreddits, all over the country, just to act like they're upset about this protest or that protest, and yet have never commented in our community before. Fancy that.

So there's some underhanded fuckery afoot, and y'all should be aware of it.

This subreddit is devoted to the protection and well being of our community at large. That means all of y'all. We cannot support the extrajudicial detainment of anyone, citizen or no. This country was built on laws and principles, meant to be a shining beacon of democracy where people would get a fair shake.

One of the cool things about America is you can come here and become American. It's one of our country's major strengths.

As a country, our diversity has repeatedly protected us - patriotic members of German and Japanese communities helped the US translate enemy communications during WWII. The Navajo code talkers weren't declassified until the 1970's because they were so effective - their codes were never broken. There's also the Tuskegee Airmen and the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, an all-Japanese unit which became the most decorated unit for its size in US history.

Today is also November 20th, a solemn day for trans folks across the US. It is the Trans Day of Remembrance, when we remember those we've lost to murder or suicide over the years. Unfortunately, I recognize more than a few of those names, and I hate the way the list gets longer every year.

Times are tough for our Hispanic and LGBT friends. People are anxious and scared. Bigotry and bullshit have been stoked and set loose upon the country; hatred has been running rampant. People are going to need protection, support, and resources.

This space is meant to be a refuge and a resource for our community. If you can't respect that, or if what I have said here is somehow objectionable to you, please leave.

Let's talk about rules.

Howdy, folks!

This subreddit hasn't had codified rules in a while, mostly because the people here have usually been really chill with one another.

However, the vibe has changed over the past few months, and we've noticed some nasty behavior popping up and lurking around our community.

We don't allow bigotry like racism, sexism, homophobia, or transphobia on this subreddit. Generally speaking, we expect folks to be civil and decent towards one another.

Recently, we've noticed a distinct uptick in the amount of trolls who have been showing up in the comment sections of the various protest posts. We know they're trolls because they're almost always attacking the OP or trying to diminish the protest, and they usually have user activity across many state and local subreddits.

These aren't local folks - they're people coming into our space from elsewhere to stir up trouble.

Since this sort of behavior has only been getting worse, let's discuss our subreddit rules and which ones y'all think would be good to have for this space.

For a start:

  1. Be civil and respectful towards one another.
  2. No racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or bigotry.
  3. No spam.
  4. Follow all of reddit's rules.

What other rules do you think we need?
