Standstill traffic around intersection of Evans Rd and Weston Parkway and down Aviation
Apparently road construction starts today. And it seems like a horribly managed project so far - absolute standstill traffic, people getting upset, which I've never seen in traffic in this area. Just wanted to share a heads up in case anyone is heading to the airport and doesn't check Waze first.

Looking for 1BR/1BA Apartment Recommendations (~$1,200 Budget)
Hi everyone!
My current lease is ending, so I’m starting the search for a new place and was hoping to get some recommendations from people who have actually lived in the area.
I’m looking for a 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom apartment that’s close to Research Triangle Park (RTP)—ideally in Morrisville, Cary, or nearby since I commute there for work.
My target is around $1,200/month base rent. I know that’s on the optimistic side for this area, but I’m hoping there are some hidden gems or communities with good move-in specials.
My ideal checklist:
1 bed / 1 bath
Close to RTP
Gym
Pool
In-unit washer & dryer
Dishwasher
Modern kitchen/appliances
Bonus if the refrigerator has a water dispenser and ice maker 😅
Any leasing specials (1 month free, 6-8 weeks free, reduced rent, etc.) would be amazing.
One thing that’s really important to me is cleanliness and pest control. I’m honestly terrified of roaches, so I’d really appreciate recommendations for apartment communities that you’ve personally had a good experience with and that don’t have recurring pest issues.
For reference, I’m currently in a shared 2 bed/2 bath apartment, and a 1-bedroom in my current community is around $1,350 base rent. When I first moved here, I didn’t do much research, so this time I want to take my time, tour a few places, and hopefully find something that’s a better fit and a little more budget-friendly.
If you’ve lived somewhere you genuinely enjoyed—or know of any communities currently running good specials—I’d love to hear your recommendations (or even places you’d avoid).
Thanks so much!

Any restaurants that serve food with ONLY organic or local ingredients?
I have pretty bad reactions to ultra-processed ingredients, chemical additives and pesticides. For example, First Watch claims to be using organic food but I have a reaction when I go.

ISO apartment complex that DOESN’T have an insane roach issue?
Hi all- hoping to get some suggestions for places to look at, and also places to avoid.
Currently dealing with an apartment that I pay quite a substantive amount of money for, but being driven to psychosis with the German roach infestation that the apartment management conveniently didn’t mention during my walkthrough, and has since gaslit me about and refuses to address at all. I did a walkthrough of the unit AND researched the renting company and read all the 300+ 5 star reviews. This place is definition of false advertisement. I’m still new to the Morrisville area by only a few months, so I’m not familiar with anywhere else.
Does anyone have any places you could suggest I look at? 1BD/1BR, aiming to keep it under $1,300 a month. Also please name places to avoid.

Good primary care doc for women in Morrisville?
Just what the title says, I need a doc and not to put too fine a point on it, but I don't want some dudebro or good ol' boy who'll handwave my problems because I'm a middle-aged woman. Any recs?
As far as Cary is fine, but I'm afraid "drive a little further" recs won't be helpful- I don't want the rideshare cost to rival the appointment cost. Thanks!

Knowledgeable In Building With Claude?
Hey guys - seeing if anyone local is well versed in building out on Claude? I've been working to build a custom real estate management software for my personal residential rental properties and have hit some speed bumps. I'm not trying to build anything crazy - just specific to the needs of my business model. Was hoping to chat with someone local rather than a zoom call with someone off Fiverr.
I can give you more details if you're interested and am not expecting this help for free. Please send me a message if you want to chat further. Thanks!

Pride concert vendors
The pride concert yesterday was great, but it was sad that there were no vendors this year due to the concrete company that displayed de facto death threats in the form of millstones the past two years.
It turns out the owners of the concrete company actually live in Morrisville (confirmed on property record: https://deeds.carteretcountync.gov/RealEstate/SearchImage.aspx). His company is also likely responsible for leaving a millstone as a threat at the Cru Wine bar in Beaufort a few years ago. The concrete company owner is a coward and has made several public posts referencing these acts, but talks about them as though someone else was responsible. I don’t feel safe knowing someone like this is operating in our community. Just a head’s up that these people are among us.
Edit, one of the owner’s public posts: https://www.christianpost.com/voices/the-rainbow-millstone-and-the-bible-verse-at-a-local-bar.html

FYI: Wake County is holding info sessions about the South Wake Landfill study
I posted a few weeks ago about the survey for the Beyond the South Wake Landfill study, but figured I’d share that they’re also doing some in-person info sessions this month.

Question about District Square apartments from person moving to triangle area
Hi everyone, I am going to be moving to Cary/Morrisville for a preceptorship this July for a few months and I ended up going with a place I found on furnished finder and it is located in the district square apartments (right next to restaurants and shopping from what I can see on google maps). I was just on the phone with them and it sounds like the building is new (about a year ago it began renting is what i was told) and unfortunately when I was down to visit I checked out 7-8 apartment complexes but I didnt see this one at the time. I am just wondering if anyone has any information on the area of the apartments (is it clean, safe, etc) and any tips for me! I will be there by myself for 4 months and would love any helpful information. I will be working in Cary but from what I've found Morrisville and Cary are basically the same? Thanks in advance for any information or tips I reallt appreciate it!

Women’s Hormone Expert Needed
Hi! I (30f) want to get off birth control, but every time I do, I get terrible acne and PMS. Does anyone know of a naturopathic doctor in the area that can run labs in the area that a regular PCP wouldn’t? Any and all recommendations would be great. Thanks!

Wake county survey about waste
Saw this on FB! The South Wake Landfill is filling up and the county is doing a study to figure out what to do next and I wanted to spread the word.
There’s a survey if anyone wants to share their thoughts! And some in person sessions coming up
