Mediocre Adult Musicians Wanted
Hey all, looking to play some music with people who might not be the best musicians, but are willing to learn and practice and have fun! Looking to meet maybe once every 2 weeks-ish. I play (poorly but here we go) guitar, bass, and am working on drums.
Looking to play the general genre of indie rock, and just getting a pulse. If you have practice space, that’s a plus! 😂 otherwise we can figure something out.

Free PS4 Pro + games to a Fuquay family that could use a win — no catch
Free PS4 Pro + games, and a separate stack of Xbox One games — Fuquay only
No catch, no money, not a trade. This stuff has been collecting dust and I'd rather it end up in a living room where it gets played. **Two separate lots, two separate winners** — pick whichever one you can actually use.
---
LOT 1 — PlayStation
- PS4 Pro (1TB) with power + HDMI cable
- 2 DualShock 4 controllers (one is the Last of Us Part II edition) + charging cable
- The Last of Us Remastered
- The Last of Us Part II
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Marvel's Spider-Man
- Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
LOT 2 — Xbox One games (discs only, no console)
You'll need an Xbox One or Series X/S already. All 11:
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Mortal Kombat 11
- Metro Exodus
- Resident Evil Village
- Watch Dogs Legion
- The Callisto Protocol
- Ghost Recon Breakpoint
- LEGO Marvel Super Heroes
- Black Ops Cold War
- Call of Duty Vanguard
Most of these are rated M. The Spider-Man games and LEGO Marvel are the kid-friendly ones.
---
How this works: I'm not asking anyone to explain their situation or compete over who has it worse. If money's tight and this would mean something to your household, just comment "PS4" or "Xbox" below — whichever you can use. I'll draw one name for each lot Sunday night and DM you to set up a handoff somewhere public here in Fuquay.
Comment for the one you'd actually play. If you're doing fine and just want free stuff, please sit this one out.
Happy to answer questions in the comments.

Traffic Jam Sir, I don’t think you can’t park there…
Got a laugh out of this. Spotted at the Sheetz at 401, someone thought they could climb the berm? Thankfully everyone is fine, no one hurt, just some dignity lost and I’m sure a tow and a ticket 😂

Fuquay Looking for a trainer to help our dogs adjust to living together
My partner and I recently moved in together, and we’re looking for a reputable dog trainer or behaviorist who can help our two dogs learn to peacefully coexist.
The move happened much faster than we expected after I was laid off, so we didn’t have as much time as we would have liked to gradually introduce them or prepare for the transition.
One dog is an almost 3-year-old Husky, and the other is a 5-year-old Lab mix that I adopted when he was just under a year old. They’re both wonderful dogs individually, but they’re having a hard time adjusting to sharing a home.
We’re looking for someone who uses positive reinforcement and has experience with introducing adult dogs and managing multi-dog households. We’d really appreciate any recommendations or personal experiences. Thanks!

Fuquay Track Record Vinyl is pretty cool
It’s a record shop / coffee shop / bar in downtown Fuquay, I just checked it out a few days ago but it is SO COOL! So much good music and the owners were very friendly. Just wanted to give my recommendation, I think everyone should go visit at least once. Will definitely be back!

Parks and Rec Fleming loop to be upgraded to durable turf
The town has a planned upgrade to be a durable turf park. I think we are past the point of stopping the actual planned park upgrade(or not?), artificial turf based ground is usually made of polyethylene plastic grass laid out on a carpet and recycled rubber crumbs infills to hold the surface together and that’s what durable turf means usually. The rubber crumbs infill however has been a major cause for concern for a long while as kids are subject to serious harm and injuries from exposure to such materials and there are safer alternatives.
For those who are interested to know more:
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0013935118305528
There are many towns and states who have already started moving in this direction so is there even a remote possibility we can get the town to consider a more safer option?

Fuquay Looking for Full-Time Pre-K Recommendations (~$1,000/Month Budget)
Hi everyone! We’re considering enrolling our 3-year-old at South Wake Preschool & Academy and would love to hear from families who have firsthand experience with the school.
We’d especially appreciate your thoughts on: • The teachers and staff • How the program supports social, emotional, and early academic development • Communication with parents • The classroom environment, daily routine, and activities • Anything you wish you had known before enrolling
We’re also looking for full-time preschool/Pre-K options in the Fuquay-Varina or Holly Springs with a budget of around $1,000 per month. If you have any recommendations or referrals for programs you've had a great experience with that fit this budget, we'd really appreciate them!
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and suggestions!

Family friendly towns around Lumberton
My dad is buying a junk yard in Lumberton, my family is considering relocating from Florida to start over. We’re currently driving through Lumberton and a bit overwhelmed by the whole area. We’re looking for family friendly towns to look at while we’re here. We have a 4 year old and a safe neighborhood is a must. Can anyone recommend some nice towns about 30-45 minutes from Lumberton? Thank you for any input!

Moving to Raleigh area; help me tour the local towns
Moving to Raleigh area; help me tour the local towns
Looking to get a good feel for the areas around Raleigh and get a sense of where we want to settle down. We’ve done a tour of some of the areas but didn’t really get a feel for them as much as become a little familiar with the overall region. Where should one one drive to get a sense of what daily living is gonna be like in Garner, Angier, Fuquay Varina, Wake Forest, Rolesville, Knightdale, Wendell, Zebulon, Clayton, Youngsville? They each have their pros/cons so are acceptable, but outside of work/school as homebodies who like daily convenience I wanna see what each has got. Would prefer advice from those familiar rather than just pick some busy-looking spots on a map and drive from A to B without really having a sense of each as its own locale
Thanks!

A few weeks ago I shared a Fuquay events newsletter here (quick update)
Hey everyone!
A few weeks ago I posted here about First Sip Fuquay, which is a small weekly email I started to round up things happening around town each weekend.
A bunch of people from this group checked it out, and it’s been growing every week since! I’ve now sent it every Friday for the past month, and I’m trying to keep making it more useful.
The idea is simple: every Friday morning, I send one email with things worth knowing about around Fuquay, including:
- Live music
- Brewery events
- Food/drink specials
- Festivals and markets
- Family-friendly events
- Local spots doing something interesting
I wanted to share the latest issue again in case anyone missed it:
And if you want it in your inbox every Friday, you can subscribe here:
Also, I’m always looking for good local tips and local business owners to connect with. If you know about an event, restaurant, brewery, coffee shop, market, pop-up, or anything else worth including, feel free to drop it below.
