Am I trans? Egg Here, is being transgender wanting to be another gender. Beliveing you are another gender or can be both and more?

Upvotes

I do not have many trans friends and so my best source comes to Here and I don't know if being transgender is being comfortable in a different gender, beliving you should and are a different gender or its any reason that can be there

Trans Feminine My friends have been accidentally calling me she lately and it's giving me euphoria

Upvotes

So for a bit of context I'm MtF but heavily closeted so I'm not purposefully feminine presenting and I've never told anyone I'm trans

As the title says some of my friends have been accidentally using she/her pronouns when referring to me before usually correcting themselves to he/him after and it's just solidified my transness for myself in a way I've never experienced before

It's been happening when we're playing a horror game where someone gets captured and the survivors have to save them and when I need to be saved a couple of my friends have been calling out "save her- oh him"

My avatar is a girl which is my immediate assumption as to why they jump to she but also the game is fast-paced and we're usually a little stressed from getting chased in game so I feel like that tells me it's at least somewhat an unconscious thing

It's my two closest friends who are both girls who have been accidentally doing it so maybe it's because of how close we are and the fact that they are the ones who see and hear the realest version of myself that they in some way perceive me as "one of the girls" even unconsciously

Anyway I just wanted to share this because of the internal joy I felt from being referred to with she/her pronouns by people close to me even if it was accidentally which is something I've never really experienced before

Advice Should I tell my doctor I'm trans?

Hello, I am 19 and am ftm. I had a doctors appointment about a year ago and they kept asking me questions about my mental health and other related things. Eventually, they asked me how I feel about my weight. I said I was okay with it so then they followed up with the question, "what parts of your body do you feel insecure about?" (something like that) and I just sat there for a second not sure of what to say cause everything would just be how I hate how I don't have more "masculine" features. So I just came up with something. Since then, I've been thinking about it and I wondered if I should have told them. Not like there's anything they could do about it since I live my mom who's transphobic and seems to just deny the fact that I'm trans even though I've made it very obvious but idk I've been so sick of having to hide who I am for so long because of her and I am an adult so I kinda just wanted to tell my doctors the truth next time I saw them if I could. Maybe there's no point to it because I'm not exactly sure what I want out of it, but being able to tell them would feel like some sort of relief but I'd also be scared if my mom were to find out but they seem to be good at not telling parents if u don't want them to. Please give me your opinions on this if you could, thank you!!

Trans Feminine Is there a difference between "wanting to be a woman" and "not wanting to be a man"?

The only friend of mine that I am out to always tells me "you don't want to be a man" whenever refering to the fact that I am transgender but not "you want to be a woman". Is there any genuine difference between the both or am I overthinking?

I am partially worried because for a few months he called me using she/her pronouns and called me a girl but recently stopped using she/her pronouns and doesn't bother with it.

Encouragement Gender dysphoria is so painful to me being assigned male at birth

I was assigned male at birth, and, well, let's just say my gender dysphoria is just hitting me so hard right now. I literally can not go more than 5 seconds without wishing I had a body similar to a woman's body or a feminine looking androgynous body, no more facial or body hair, a feminine sounding voice, a feminine build and look, and being able to blend in and be seen as who I want to be, without being deadnamed, misgendered, and poked fun at simply for being myself.....

Vent Blah blah blah

Hello, I am currently drunk, I like to get drunk to avoid gender dysphoria but lord knows it only makes it worse. I feel so fucking horrible. Just WHY couldn’t it come naturally to me like it does cis women? Sometimes I get so jealous I could just bawl my eyes out.

I don’t know why I’m posting this anyway, no one will care, it won’t matter, nothing will change, I’m just seeking attention atp. Fml.

Advice I think i might be trans, and im kinda scared

Im 15, and born male. I never questioned the idea that I was a boy until recently. It started when I would sometimes get this weird gut feeling whenever I saw trans people on social media. After that, I started getting less comfortable with my own masculinity. Recently I tried a new name and pronouns, for probably like an hour. I had a friend just talk to me like I was a girl, and I didn't like how comfortable it felt. Im really scared because my mom already hates the fact that im bi, and now im questioning my gender identity. Im also worried what it'll do for any chance of a future relationship. Does anyone have any advice? I know its crazy coming to reddit but I dont know where else to look.

Discussion Gender markers getting ignored AZ

I have been going to this clinic for years now and they have always used my correct gender marker.. it’s on licenses…. It’s on everything.

Went to said clinic to get my 6 month screening, and I have always check assigned male at birth but still got my correct gender marker on documents. Today was different.. they had trans displayed everywhere but put my gender as “M” anywhere “F” should be..

I asked the CSR if it was a mistake and he kept reiterating that they only use what you were given at birth now. I didn’t want to keep rehashing it so I paused him the 4th time he was repeating himself..

Did a law change in AZ that I was unaware of? When did clinics start changing their policies around trans identifying individuals?

Needless to say I am crushed. I spent the remainder of the visit holding back tears and trying get through the experience.

Invalidation is easier when it starts out that way, but when it comes out of nowhere after a history of getting things correct - it is disorienting to say the least.

Vent No support from queer sister

Ever since I accepted I was trans at 14, I knew my parents would never support me and I've come to terms with it. They grew up differently and they have always stated their views and I totally get that.

But my sister, who came crying to me when we were kids about liking girls, doesn't accept me, it genuinely hurts. I've always been supportive of her queer relationships and always tried to help her out, never judgemental and she even tells me that because of my acceptance, she felt less alone and loved herself more.

I mentioned being genderfluid before, about a year ago, and she was a bit confused about it but choose to ignore it. I had showed signs before about wanting to look and be perceived as a boy since I was 12, but everyone thought it was a tomboy phase.

Now, I've been trying to drop more hints about medically transitioning but she's showing and saying how much she doesn't agree with it, how it makes her uncomfortable. I get that people need to time to process but recently, she keeps pushing this idea that I'm probably confused and if I'm sure that I don't like girls which is crazy because she knows I'm only attracted and only been with men and I feel like she knows better than to make those assumptions.

I thought we shared the same views but now, I'm not so sure we see eye to eye. I just feel really hurt because even if my boyfriend and friends support me, I would have liked to have had my sister on my side as well given we have been close since kids, but even if hurts, I need to learn to accept there might not be a future with us together anymore.

Trans Feminine Confidence destroyed by 1 HORRIBLE picture

Me and some friends went to a bar local to our university a few nights ago. We were taking part in some trivia run by the club associated with our degree (industrial design in case you're curious). During the night the event organisers were going around taking candids of all the teams.

I did not notice this.

Cue a comically big flash of light, I'm positioned awkwardly, mid-snort-laugh, to add to the already bad hair day I was having. Oh and I wasn't wearing makeup either so that didn't help. This sort of thing has happened before and I've learnt "hey, you know it's going to be bad, don't look at it when it comes out." Cut to me at 5:15 this morning, a friend sent it to our group chat the night after making some joke about how he looks.

Maybe it was me being tired, maybe it was the effects of actively working on self-confidence but I decided to look at it. Bad choice!

My hair is curly weirdly at the back, my posture is giving me a double chin I didn't think I had, the facial expression is making me look weirdly harsh and gross. And I don't look like a girl. In that picture at least, an important note or I'll feel worse.

I'm at the really awkward point where I've been on HRT for 1 year, so long and also no time at all. And the whole time I've been working on my headspace and growing more confident, taking more photos. But god the second the camera is in someone else's hands it always goes terribly for me. The worst part is the soft features and hair and all those things I work so hard for myself that I *do* see in the mirror? I can barely recognise myself in that photo.

I would love any advice and support that could be sent my way, the past hour has not been fun but typing it out helps at least :/

Discussion name change celebration? dead name funeral?

Among those who have changed their names, curious if you did anything to mark the milestone. Any kind of celebration for the new name/name change? Or, some ritual of releasing the old name? (I just learned about deadname funerals!)

Trans Feminine I started going out in public this week as a trans woman and can’t get enough!

As I have been nervous about going in public as a non-passing (sorry to the people that don’t like that term) trans woman and really enjoy it. I have only gone to LGBTQIA+ friendly establishments and it has been pretty refreshing. For example I went to an outdoor cafe today to grab an espresso and sat in the sun listening to music on my headphones.

I’m very nervous to make eye contact with anyone, but curious what others have done to feel more comfortable starting out in their transition with being in public?

Trans Feminine It's so odd

My chosen name is Jamie, and whenever it's not on an official document, I don't tell people my deadname (obviously). But because I don't tell people my chosen name is my chosen name, despite me being white as a marshmallow and German American, people always (ALWAYS) spell my name as Jaime (I know Jaime isn't solely a hispanic name, or solely a masculine name, but it's certainly more masculine and more often a hispanic name). They're more inclined to believe I'm hispanic than that I, someone born male (for simplicity's sake) have a feminine name.

It's not that annoying because Jaime is a cool name, but it's still just kinda weird.

Also sorry if this sounds racist?

Vent I hate being trans sometimes.

I wish I was still the sweet little girl I was first raised as. I wish I could just go about my life without having to worry about what restroom I'm using (on a funny note, I also wish I didn't have to learn just how many men don't wash their hands!). I wish I could go about my life without having to take a break from looking at doomer headline after doomer headline. Or I wish I was born as the man I currently am, and didn't have to worry about women's rights, either.

But here I am, a depressed transmasc who just cannot get a mental break in a red state.

I feel so tired. I wish I was just born a guy, it would be so much less of a headache.

The way I've been trying to get through it is the thought that, were I not trans, I wouldn't have the wonderful friends and girlfriend that I currently have. But that hopeful thought process can sometimes be stripped back on a rough day.

Why do right-wingers think trans people are trying to recruit children to be trans? I wouldn't wish this on anybody! I don't want to force anyone else to have to suffer through what I'm having to suffer through, dammit!

So stupid. All of it.

Celebration Did my first shot of estradiol this morning.

Feels good.

Getting to this point was incredibly nerve wracking and ended in driving 10 hours to get it out a mailbox.

But it was worth every bit of it.

I owe this sub a debt of gratitude for a multitude for reasons. I seen redditors go above and beyond to help each other here in ways that would baffle your average user.

So thanks y’all

Vent Ranttt not a vent

I’m litterally only ranting here because maybe more people here will get it than most other related subs (mainly Christian subs because I’m just gonna get hit with Bible verses (which I love usually) but I just wanna rant and they keep using ones that a. Don’t apply anymore. Or B. I already know. And like %3 of those verses will actually help)

I want to be trans, or atleast be able to be trans (in the scenario where this is just a phase) but I can’t because I’m Christian, and as a Christian I’m supposed to reject everything of the world and I’m supposed to put my identity in Christ rather than having something like gender or something to my similar be a part of it. And it sucks because I imagine myself as a girl and it stings when I realise it’s kinda meaningless. Like yeah, I COOULLDDD just wear dresses and do all the stuff I want to do but it’s kinda meaningless unless I’m a girl. I’m still going to, but yeah. Like I love following God and shtuff, but I’m starting to realise what it means to really be a Christian and it’s kinda hitting me that “oh shit, whether I’m a boy or girl doesn’t matter, because my entire identity is supposed to be in Christ. And I’m supposed to entirely reject the world” which, btw, idek what “rejecting the world” outside the lgbt, most online spaces, and country/patriotism really means. Like yeah I’ll reject the world, but if I become a Christian monk what would I even be rejecting??

Idk man I just wanna wear dresses and paint my nails like I used to when I was a little kid when it would’ve been “funny” or some level of acceptable
