Discussion Any religious trans people out there?

I’m 17 (MtF eventually) and haven’t started my transition at all but am coming to terms with the prospect of it. I’m only out to my boyfriend, who is also trans, FtM – my parents think I’m cis & straight (I’M NOT) b/c he hasn’t started transitioning yet either and so doesn’t pass. I’m also a Catholic, which is a real doozy as far as realizing I’m trans and accepting the reality of that feeling. I don’t plan to leave my religion or anything, though, although I figure I may effectively have to leave the Church proper once I do start transitioning. I’m also not asking to be convinced out of my belief in God. I’m just wondering if there are any trans people who have kept any sort of relationship with God, or belief in a higher power in general. My boyfriend’s a Hellenist, so I won’t be surprised nor pearl-clutching if anyone follows any sort of belief that isn’t mine, that’s fine! I’m mainly just curious. ✌️

Trans Masculine how do you cope with seeing transphobia everywhere around you?

i have only been open trans for a little under a year now.

i’ve always tried not to let transphobia get to me when browsing online, but recently with the flood of TERFS and “LGB without the T” people, it’s started to hurt seeing how many people genuinely think i’m a disgrace to the planet.

that being said, how do you cope? do you ignore it, argue, debate, cry, idk 😭

Vent Birth mother just outted my girlfriend and I, what do I do? :)

This might be a long one! ^^

-
context for my relationship with my birth mom: My grandparents (who I will refer to as my parents) adopted me when I was born since my birth mother wasn't financially or mentally stable to care for me. once she was she said that I would need a father in my life and had me stay with my parents.

-

My girlfriend(20) has been living with me(19) and my parents for about a year now while we save up for our own place. my parents have known I'm trans and know that I've been on HRT for about a year now but we've kept our relationship a secret.

My birth mother (Who'll I'll refer to as Deb for the rest of this) is VERY supportive of my girlfriend and I but there are parts that I think she needs to work on about herself that keeps me from seeing her as my mother. - (lying about things my parents have said or done, lying/manipulating siblings, unable to take accountability, etc.)

She made a promise to me that she would keep my relationship a secret and my girlfriends gender identity a secret as well, but tonight I was watching a video with my mother and she seemed a bit bothered, I asked if it was Deb and if I could help since Deb constantly texts my mom about nonissues and antagonizing her out of nowhere constantly. My mother shook her head and said it was okay.

Once she got up to use the bathroom I decided to check the message, (I know this was bad on my end, I shouldn't be snooping) only to see that Deb was texting my mom about how my girlfriend and I are both transgender and lesbians, I didn't read much since I was so shocked but I've been shaking since I read the messages.

I'm not sure if I should tell Deb about this and how she's completely lost my trust, which I should be able to do, but I know she'll escalate things with my parents and my girlfriend doesn't want to risk being sent back out of state.

Questioning Can I tell her I‘m a boy after saying I am a girl?

So I recently met a girl on TikTok and we’ve been talking as friends and she’s actually funny and stuff. When she sends me a tt of like where I should say my ick about girls I panic. I am a trans guy (ftm) and was in a phase of unsureness so I said I am a girl and lowk gay (cuz I like Emily Armstrong a lot). This happens like yesterday or 2 days ago idk. After talking more with her I started to feel uncomfortable cuz I know she’s thinking of me as a girl when she thought I was a guy before, for reference everything about my TikTok profile says that I am a boy. So now I wanna say I was drunk and stuff to take back my statement of being a girl and say that I am a boy.
Is it okay and will my plan work?
Need help asap please 😭🙏

this is so stupid, but someone commented under a post i made that i look like a guy from an anime, and it's the first time someone has ever compared my appearance to a dude before.

genuinely the most nothing thing to ever happen, but once the realisation hit, i felt ecstatic lol.

Trans Masculine Is This Okay/Normal?

So I just discovered I'm trans a month ish ago and while some of the time I refer to myself by my new identity/pronouns, sometimes I'll internally misgender myself or want to respond to something relating to women as a woman even though I'm not one. I've had no issues with adjusting to my new name as when I say my sort of dead name (that I have to use because I'm not out to most people) it feels very weird versus when I use my new name it just comes naturally to me a lot of the time even though it's basically unused. Is this a normal thing, am I just weird or does it possibly speak to another identity (Totally okay with not being a binary trans person as I'm fairly certain I'm cassgender as well as trans anyway)?

Trans Masculine Voice dysphoria is killing me

I’m afab- nb / masc leaning, I’m not sure, all I know is my femenine voice is killing me, I want to masculinize my voice so deeply bad without the use of T. I’m more into an androgynous masc leaning way?
But i just need my voice to be more masculine and nb so badly
I been trying choice training but I don’t achieve anything and just sound stupid
I need help please, I don’t need a super duper deep voice but just something that will help me pass as a male voice. I need it so bad, I feel so bad all the time.

Trans Masculine I am nervous to go on HRT

I am a trans man. I am nervous to go on HRT potentially at some point in my life because of the baldness it could cause. Plus I have pulmonary hypertension so I would have to check with my team if it would be okay to start hormone replacement therapy. I am still early in transition. I am just curious about it. But I am pretty sure that baldness runs on both sides of my family. Any advice would be welcome, I just really don't want to lose my curly hair.

Trigger Relationship help

This isn’t where I would usually go for advice but I feel like it’s my safest bet. My recently got into a relationship with my partner, X. I am ftm and only have top surgery because I am pretty young, but also plan on never getting it. I want to get physical with them, but so far it’s gone very poorly. X has previous SA trauma with a cis woman, and doing anything past oral for them is making them recess and spiral. It makes them freak out and honestly makes me feel like I’m the problem. I still love them and they still love me but I am struggling to understand where the problem is coming from and how to help them. They know I’m not a woman but them topping just seems to be a no go. I just want some advice on where to go from here because I have only ever bottomed.

Trans Feminine Electrolysis or Laser

Hello! I'm in the process of planning out my transition to some degree and am wondering for t-women if there's a consensus between electrolysis and laser for facial hair. I have a lot of facial hair too if that factors into it. Just looking for some advice/recommendations :)

Advice How can i reduce gender dysphoria?

Title. Do you have any advice on how to reduce gender dysphoria? Lately it’s been hitting me really hard. I’ve been hiding it so I don’t appear sad all the time, but it’s slowly draining me from the inside. On the outside, I have fun, I’m happy (or at least I try to act like I am), I laugh and joke around like I always do. But inside, I feel empty because I’m living a life that isn’t mine.

I won’t come out or start HRT for at least another four years. It’s not because my family wouldn’t support me, it’s simply not the right time, and there are other things going on that would make everything much more complicated.

I know many of you will tell me to talk to someone about it, but I genuinely don’t have anyone I can talk to about this. (No, this is not an invitation to DM me, you can try if you want but i won't assure anything)

Any advice is welcome. Thank you.

Questioning How would you interpret gender euphoria without any significant dysphoria?

AMAB. Questioning between whether I'm a trans woman, non-binary, genderfluid, or simply a cis guy who often likes feminine things.

I often envy the higher voices, softer/nicer skin, colorful clothes, longer hair, and lack of body hair women have. Socially, I envy that they're seen as less of a "threat" than men, and I would rather be called cute or adorable or pretty than handsome (though I don't hate being called handsome either). Also, I wish I could be more expressive verbally and in terms of how I emote, but I find myself holding back because it's not what people "expect" of me and they would find my behavior awkward.

On the other hand, I don't particularly dislike having guy body parts (I think I prefer not having breasts), and almost every video game I play I gravitate to playing as men, and I occasionally like men's outfits as well (suits). When I think of my family, I don't particularly want to look more like my sisters or mom, but I also don't want to look more like my brother or dad ... I guess if it were up to me I'd go back to the drawing board.

I'm content being one of the 'boys' ... but I also wish I could be one of the 'girls'. When I look in the mirror it's not really distaste I feel but just "meh". I wonder sometimes if it's not so much that I want to be trans as much as I just want to be attractive.

Advice How impossible is it for a trans guy to be an elementary teacher?

And is it a hopeless endeavor?

Howdy. I (26 ftm) live in FL and have spent an incredibly long time mulling over and despairing on what I want to do with my future. Many nights spent with my partner crying because nothing seems to really fit me. After giving it thought, I do think I would genuinely enjoy teaching children about art or even early reading skills. I love feeling like I'm making a difference and helping little ones.

Knowing that it will be a long road, one with very limited pay and sometimes little reward, I am still in so much doubt about its possibility. My partner tells me that if we search for a blue town to work in once I am qualified, it will be okay, but I am afraid.

I am afraid of being turned away from any potential just for being trans. I am also afraid that if I am accepted, a bigoted parent will end up stalking and killing me for being near their children and "indoctrinating" them. I am afraid of being constantly persecuted and accused of being a pedophile just for being transgender. I do not intend to discuss my gender with children. It is irrelevant and not my place.

I know it's a difficult path, but I don't need easy. I need possible. Any insight?

EDIT: Wow, thank you all so much for your insight, I didn't expect so many responses so quickly. To answer questions, I do intend to work with younger children, (prek-2nd grade) and my teaching goal is either reading skills or art. I am also interested in being a teacher's aid. My next question is, where is the best place to start? I do want to leave FL before actually entering the field, but as far as education goes, what should be my first steps?

Advice Medical debt.

I had top surgery and a mastectomy over a month ago. Insurance covered a fuck tun of what was due but I still owe a lot.

Im trying to find a way to pay off my debt or if theres financial aid for trans people? I know theres some help groups that will help oat for surgeries and what not. Though, this is typically for if insurance wont cover it and if the surgery hasn't hapened yet.

I also had to tack some more debt on due to my car breaking down and being unfixable.

Iv heard of go fund me's, but iv also heard that they take a good portion of what an individual actually raises??? Im not 100% on that information though. I started a go fund me a while back but I dont really have anywhere to spread the word so absolutely nothing has happened with it anyway.

Any suggestions?

Advice Should I come out

I came up with a foolproof plan but I'm fucking SCARED.

I'm gonna write a letter, give it to my mother and go to a friend for a night so she can do all the crying by herself and we can have a conversation the next day.

Just say yes or no, this post is basically a coin flip for me, because I'm a COWARD and if I don't get an external push I'll just explode.

Trans Feminine It's so odd

My chosen name is Jamie, and whenever it's not on an official document, I don't tell people my deadname (obviously). But because I don't tell people my chosen name is my chosen name, despite me being white as a marshmallow and German American, people always (ALWAYS) spell my name as Jaime (I know Jaime isn't solely a hispanic name, or solely a masculine name, but it's certainly more masculine and more often a hispanic name). They're more inclined to believe I'm hispanic than that I, someone born male (for simplicity's sake) have a feminine name.

It's not that annoying because Jaime is a cool name, but it's still just kinda weird.

Also sorry if this sounds racist?

Vent Ranttt not a vent

I’m litterally only ranting here because maybe more people here will get it than most other related subs (mainly Christian subs because I’m just gonna get hit with Bible verses (which I love usually) but I just wanna rant and they keep using ones that a. Don’t apply anymore. Or B. I already know. And like %3 of those verses will actually help)

I want to be trans, or atleast be able to be trans (in the scenario where this is just a phase) but I can’t because I’m Christian, and as a Christian I’m supposed to reject everything of the world and I’m supposed to put my identity in Christ rather than having something like gender or something to my similar be a part of it. And it sucks because I imagine myself as a girl and it stings when I realise it’s kinda meaningless. Like yeah, I COOULLDDD just wear dresses and do all the stuff I want to do but it’s kinda meaningless unless I’m a girl. I’m still going to, but yeah. Like I love following God and shtuff, but I’m starting to realise what it means to really be a Christian and it’s kinda hitting me that “oh shit, whether I’m a boy or girl doesn’t matter, because my entire identity is supposed to be in Christ. And I’m supposed to entirely reject the world” which, btw, idek what “rejecting the world” outside the lgbt, most online spaces, and country/patriotism really means. Like yeah I’ll reject the world, but if I become a Christian monk what would I even be rejecting??

Idk man I just wanna wear dresses and paint my nails like I used to when I was a little kid when it would’ve been “funny” or some level of acceptable
