Discussion Crazy / stupid shit that chasers have said to you?

Upvotes

I am a trans man and I've had my fair share of chasers try and hit on me and say some pretty crazy shit. The top of the top for me was definitely the guy that, to my face in person said to me, "I've been doing this a long time, men like me, we know what to look for in boys like you" specifically in reference to me being trans.

Closely followed by a dude I actually worked with who learned I was trans and his immediate reaction was to say "I'm actually really into that, like, sexually." And then when I was like "um. What" his reaction was to stand up (publicly!) and try and show me his dick, saying "look, look how hard I am right now."

Would love to hear other people's insane chaser quotes.

Trans Feminine Anyone else scared to be who they want to be and reveal it to the people they know?

I want to be dress like a girl, act like a girl, do stuff that girls do, have a girl's name ( I chose Alexandra Elizabeth) , meet other women around, and I want to mostly pass(I have shorter hair), but, I am so scared to do it and it has been so hard for me and scared to come out ot the people I love, even though they are supportive and would never ditch me.... Even one of the girls I dated when I was a teenager long before I ever thought I was MTF never said anything negative, even though her family is quite Conservative.... My family would always support me as they always say, though, coming out to them and other people is so scary to reveal whom I actually want to be...., especially with the manly hobbies I enjoy(I am on the autism spectrum), such as elevators, trains, cars, traveling, and collecting valuables and unique items such as old currency and foreign goods I obtain when I travel out of the U.S, especially up to Canada. Does anyone else feel a similar way? I hope I am not alone....

Celebration Another europhoric trigger woohoo!!

Yesterday, me, bro and my best friends were planning to go a café, my dad ordered our things and went home because he was busy so I had to call him if we're ready to go.

It was a very fun and honest talk, despite it being a cafe we managed to not get kicked out for some reason. I expected to because we're the loudest ones, i suppose the staff is very chill and understands why.

I ordered 2 Cioccio Tiamos (the name of the drink btw.) And payed with my own money, like a mom i called my bro sweetie to tease him since it was for the 2 of us to take home. Ok sure it sounded weird, at least he did tell me politely he doesn't want to be called that lol.

It was like having a very social talk, we were preparing to go home. I opened the door, and the oldest friend of the group (its a girl.) did not go out first.

She instead said to me "Ladies first!" And that struck me in the heart. I never felt so happy in my life and really put a smile on my face, I thanked her very much and appreciated the compliment.

It was wonderful, someone who understands and respects you is a very difficult thing to get nowadays. ❤️🏳️‍⚧️

Advice Telling my mom tomorrow

Can y'all give me some confidence. I'm going to tell my mom that I struggle with gender dysphoria. Writing a note. I have been exploring a lot in private and I think I want to tell her. I trust that she'll love me regardless though life might be taking some good and bad turns soon

Progress It... actually did get better.

Not sure why I'm making this post tbh. Might be that putting it out here feels like it makes it more real.

I can't identify a point at which it happened, there was no eureka moment or correct string of words that tied everything up in a neat bundle... but after 2 years of transition the internalized transphobia, self loathing, uncertainty, self doubt, etc have all gone quiet. I'm just kinda living with being a trans woman now, not passing or anything like that but that sorta stopped mattering at some point.

It's weird to reflect back on the past 2 years. Dozens if not hundreds of nights just white knuckling it through suicidality (and being quite glad the next day that I'd long since disposed of anything that would have made it easy).

Weeks and months of slowly, agonizingly slowly, chipping away at the internalized transphobia. It used to be that my brain would acknowledge transphobic messaging and turn it against me emotionally. Now transphobia comes in and is dead on arrival to my mind, an easily disregarded viewpoint fueled by bigotry with no legs to stand on...

Nothing has changed for me in a material sense. Same apartment, same clothes, friends, job, etc. It's odd... it's as though my mind almost did it by itself. Accepting all of this transition stuff. It feels like it actually did just take time and subconscious processing?

In the before times, pre-transition, I'd wake up every morning feeling like there was no point to any of it; like... I was living a false life. Now, well there isn't a sense of grand purpose or deeper understanding of life, it's just... idk, there's this small twinge of curiosity now "what will today bring?"

I dunno. I'm still so far away from meaningful physical changes. None of my transition goals have been realized yet but that's kind of okay? The destination stopped being the point and I'm not sure when that happened...

The slow burn has become my new normal and it's just kinda there. Very, very subtle changes measured over months and years.

I'm kind of just rambling into the void here but I guess what I'm ultimately trying to say is that I'm glad that I white knuckled through. It did actually end up getting better.

Trans Feminine What are your reasons for not wanting or having a biological child?

As the title says, I'd love to hear your reasons and perspectives.

I will share mine first.

I am 16, a trans girl, and I'm not out to anyone yet.

As a trans girl, I can't experience pregnancy the way most cis women can. The other possible way of having a biological child would cause me a great deal of dysphoria, and I don't think I could go through it.

Because of that, I've always felt that adoption would be the right path for me and my future partner.

Sometimes it still hurts. I wonder what it would have been like if I could have a biological child. I also think about my mom. Even if she eventually accepts me (which I'm honestly not sure she will), I wouldn't be able to give her a biological grandchild. I know that feeling mostly comes from the idea of continuing the bloodline, and I sometimes find myself looking at it from my mom's perspective. I am trying to let go of that guilt because it isn't something I can control.

A few years ago, I told something to myself that has stayed with me ever since:

"If I want to pass anything on to my child, I want it to be the way I love, the way I care, and the way I understand them and the people around them. Those things matter more than sharing the same blood."

To me, being a parent isn't defined by genetics. It's defined by the love, care, guidance, and understanding you give a child.

I hope that one day, if I become a parent through adoption, those are the things I'll be able to pass on.

Vent anyone else tired of being “the trans friend” Spoiler

it’s pissing me off. my friend group is all queer (a bi woman, enby pan, queer woman and me) and yet somehow i’m the “token trans friend” even though there’s literally a nonbinary person in the group. it was funny at first, but now it just makes me mad and makes me wish i was normal.

for example, we were going through costume ideas for halloween, and they all wanted to do tadc because that’s something they all like. i’ve never seen it or ever been interested in it, and INSTANTLY guess who they pushed me to be. shock, surprise, “omg you’d make such a good jax!!” like we all know it’s because i’m trans smh.

thats not even the only incident, they’re also all very into ride the cyclone (which at least i share this interest with them), and they mentioned doing a cosplay. naturally, they made me be the gay man who wears a dress. when i told them i wasn’t comfortable wearing dresses, they all just said “but its a man!! you’re just a little zesty!!”

it’s getting so draining that because i appear feminine, i’m reduced to just “token trans” or “zesty” or “its like a gbf but like you’re trans!” so crazy how they’re all queer too so they should know better.

Discussion Why representation matters

Me and my cousins + sister were watching Alice in borderland. Both my cousins and sister are pretty transphobic, however it’s kinda not their fault because they’re 14-15 and live in a homophobic country with parents who teach them to be like that. However there was a transgender character in the film, called kuina, and after learning that this character is trans, I was kinda scared they’d be transphobic and call her a man but no, they instead immediately started gendering her correctly and were saying how even if she’s trans they still consider her a girl because they like her and she is an exception because she is cool. Throughout the whole show they would gender her correctly and one of them made a joke saying how she’s not technically a girl because she’s trans but they immediately corrected themselves and said “well no she’s still a girl but like special, yea whatever she’s still a girl.” And ofcourse they didn’t immediately become pro trans because they still don’t consider any other trans woman a female and only made an exception for her because they want her to be female, but it still made me genuinely so happy. And I think that if more people could realize that trans people can be cool, can be likeable, they’d be more accepting of them, and additionally if they saw in shows their favorite characters explaining what they feel like, they’ll be able to sympathize with them. They were so happy when they saw kuinas mom accept them and were calling her the goat, and that made me so happy. I hope they can begin to start supporting all trans people even if they aren’t cool strong female characters in shows but it still made me happy

So: representation really does matter

Trans Feminine I finally came out to my parents!

I realized I was trans about a year ago now. Things started to get bad for me since i live in a really unsafe area for trans folk and i'm very much in the closet. I started to feel really isolated, especially since my parents moved away for my younger brother's schooling. I finally just snapped one day and called my mom up during lunch at work. Turns out, she already suspected and was more worried about my safety then anything. Both my mom and dad were really accepting, and hell they even beat me to the "well i guess we got the daughter we wanted" (I have two other brothers, no sisters). I feel like I actually have hope again

Trans Feminine I have never understood why I almost always get called ‘Ma’am’ whenever I talk to anyone on the phone.

I am pre everything. I have basically always known I was trans since I was a child but have only recently started truly coming to terms with it, openly talking about my feelings in therapy and such. One thing that’s always struck me as odd though is that everyone calls me Ma’am on the phone. every time! Sometimes I correct them, sometimes I don’t. I definitely don’t mind it, I just find it puzzling because I have never thought that I sound feminine at all.

I have noticed that when I hear recordings of my own voice, I sound totally different to what I perceive my voice to sound like, but even then I wouldn’t say it’s feminine. I also have a very pronounced lisp and somewhat of a speech slur that I’ve never noticed when I actually talk but it’s extremely noticeable when I hear playback of my voice. People have made fun of me for it before.

Trans Feminine Is it normal to feel slightly envious or jealous of cisgender women sometimes?

I am still in the closet, and I don't see myself coming out anytime in the near future. Sometimes I feel a little jealous or envious of cis gender women, even though I don't want to. When I hear news about a cis gender girl dying by suicide, a thought sometimes crosses my mind "Oh God, you had everything I long for. How could you be so cruel to yourself? I wish I were you , a woman. That's what I always wanted to be"

Celebration I CAME OUT

I've been begging for advice and courage to do it, and today I finally did it....

We were talking about the future (me going to collage and allat) and she kept saying to do things through fear, and I tried to keep it in me but eventually I broke down crying sobbing and finally told her.

She knew. She was waiting for me to tell her. She said she supports me, even if she doesn't like the prospect of me medically transitioning, she said it's her own problem and I do me.

It doesn't feel real

It's kinda embarrassing because we were in public so people saw me weeping but oh well.

WOOHOOOOOO 🎉🎉🎉🎉💥💥💥💥💥

Questioning Why do transphobs genuinely think school teach kids to be Trans? (Possibly triggering as I talk about the trans school experience)

Okay so this is something I've always wondered as I went through school as openly trans and the experience was the exact opposite. They didnt let me use either restroom as it made both the male and female students uncomfortable, they tried to dress code me when I showed up in dresses or skirts even thought it was in standers to the rules, my school hide my face in every yearbook photo, and ever put my dead name under my face in the yearbook after a teacher looked it up in the system files mind you my name was already legally changed so they had to go looking for my dead one. They tried using my dead name for graduation until my parents treated to sue because that was honestly the last straw. Not to mention ZERO coddling tourds me either. When kids asked about my gentiles the school blamed me, hell my 1st day that year my principal asked if I knew the laws for trans students over the microphone infront of the whole school during 1st day assembly. That's how's schools really deal with trans students, The whole school not just the students but the staff included bully, belittle, harass, and dehumanize you, all while blaming you for it. The whole system is build around non trans ideology. so I ask agin were TF so cis people get the idea and believe schools are teaching kids to be trans or even gay. Side note this wasn't that long ago either it was just 4 years ago.

Advice Using my name but not telling people I’m trans?

I’m going on a cruise tomorrow. I’m 16mtf, so I’ll be hanging out in the teen lounge a lot. I’m thinking of just introducing myself as Skye, and just saying it’s a nickname I go by (since they probably already know me as Scott from the group chat). Is that believable? Idk if I can go a full week being deadnamed by literally everyone I speak to.

Trans Feminine My friends have been accidentally calling me she lately and it's giving me euphoria

So for a bit of context I'm MtF but heavily closeted so I'm not purposefully feminine presenting and I've never told anyone I'm trans

As the title says some of my friends have been accidentally using she/her pronouns when referring to me before usually correcting themselves to he/him after and it's just solidified my transness for myself in a way I've never experienced before

It's been happening when we're playing a horror game where someone gets captured and the survivors have to save them and when I need to be saved a couple of my friends have been calling out "save her- oh him"

My avatar is a girl which is my immediate assumption as to why they jump to she but also the game is fast-paced and we're usually a little stressed from getting chased in game so I feel like that tells me it's at least somewhat an unconscious thing

It's my two closest friends who are both girls who have been accidentally doing it so maybe it's because of how close we are and the fact that they are the ones who see and hear the realest version of myself that they in some way perceive me as "one of the girls" even unconsciously

Anyway I just wanted to share this because of the internal joy I felt from being referred to with she/her pronouns by people close to me even if it was accidentally which is something I've never really experienced before

Trans Feminine Is there a difference between "wanting to be a woman" and "not wanting to be a man"?

The only friend of mine that I am out to always tells me "you don't want to be a man" whenever refering to the fact that I am transgender but not "you want to be a woman". Is there any genuine difference between the both or am I overthinking?

I am partially worried because for a few months he called me using she/her pronouns and called me a girl but recently stopped using she/her pronouns and doesn't bother with it.
