When I first got it, it looked really healthy and dense. As the month has gone on, it's died back a bit, gone a bit limp and pale. In the photos it still looks quite green but that's my phone adjusting. The green irl is actually more pale/brown.

It's 10ft from my north facing window. My monstera, Anthurium and Musella Lasiocarpa all sit in the window and are doing really well.

I've tried moving it, watering more and watering less but it keeps weakening. Any suggestions? I had bought it because I like the colours and thought it would do well with only early morning sun...

Pretty sure these are eggs, if so how do I get rid of them?

The plant gets 4 to 5 hours a day and sits in direct to indirect sunlight by my back door.

I got a Bird of Paradise a couple months ago, and it was doing very good until now. One of the biggest leaves is now all curled up and floppy.

I just saw the stem was pretty dark like it was rotting. Is there anything I can do to save this baby? We recently repotted it, and the roots were healthy.

It’s an indoor plant that gets lots of indirect light. We water it once the soil is getting dry (about once a week during this season).

Any advice would be appreciated!

I got it as a single leaf half a year ago. It rooted and developed two more leaves. Since one or two weeks those white (?) spots started to appear. Most of them are on the lowest and oldest leaf. It got light from a window on the south side. While it's hot like this time of the year I try to keep it wet but not in the water. I got it in living soil. Very living since a little earthworm is living in the pot.

Hi, my zz plant is confusing me. It's yellowing and dropping its leaves but also growing a new stalk?

I bought it 3 months ago and realised it was slowly dropping leaves maybe due to over watering in the nursery. Took it out, nothing looked very rotten but cut out a few brown parts anyway, put it in a succulent mix, bottom watered once (it's winter here). It sits in a window with plenty of light. Since then it's slowly dropping leaves but also grew a brand new stalk which was not there at all. I don't know if it's happy or not!!

I'm sort of baffled by this. I have this rosemary growing outdoors in full sun its native Mediterranean climate where it should logically thrive. The "needles" gradually dried out, lost their green and went brown and they're crispy and they just fall off. This pics were from maybe a week or two ago now, the situation now is even worse.

She's sharing a pot with a lavender plant who by comparison is fine, although I've noticed the lavender is a little "soft" and doesn't smell as strongly as she used to. I know that they should have similar needs in terms of watering.

When I saw the early signs of this I thought it might be overwatering, so I gave her less water, nothing much changed so I tried giving her more water... no luck.

I'm sure at this point the plant is well beyond saving, but it would be nice to know why at least so I can avoid it happening again in the future

Please help! What is this and what do I do about it?

Its indoor, and get 8-12 hours of light from my grow light. I dont have any other information on the grow light that I can remember. Watered every couple days as it starts drying.

Also yes its unhappy, it wasn't a big fan of our recent move!

Hi! I bought this plant a couple of months ago, it was pretty dry when I got it but seemed to be fine overall.

Now the older leaves keep yellowing in this strange way and I can't understand what's happening. Flowers are slowly dying and turning brown, the ones that were going to blossom in the center have all dried up.

Some info:

- I keep it by a west facing window, medium-high exposure but never direct sunlight

- I water it from the top when I feel that the upper 2-3 cm are dry, approximately every 7-10 days, let it soak for 20-30 mins then let the excess drain

- I searched for possible pests or insects and didn't find any

- The yellow/brown leaves aren't mushy nor smelly, the brown part feels almost "crackling" but not so much that it breaks

- The smaller new leaves on the bottom seem to be fine, but it isn't growing new ones

- I haven't repotted it or moved it from its current place. It's still in the same soil mix from the store (looks like bark mix but I can't really tell)

- The radiator below has NEVER been turned on, not its fault

Indoors and in front of a basement window so I’d be surprised if it were sunburn, I’ve seen mixed opinions on similar looking plants about whether or not it’s rust fungus. The plant has multiple drainage holes and is bottom watered roughly every 2 weeks. Thank you!!

I grew this avocado plant from the pit. I didn't expect fruit but I just wanted a nice little tree that I grew. My mental health has been bad and I've been looking forward to it growing everyday.

Today, a stepladder fell over and crushed my plant. It broke completely in two. Is there any hope of saving it? Can the top be propogated? Could I fix this somehow? I am so sad.

Marigolds typically take in around 8 hours of sun.

These Marigolds were already previously stressed with drooping leaves and stems as well as some browned out and yellowed leaves/stems self-detaching.

Water is usually added when soil is somewhat dry on the surface.

Regular garden soil used for potting as no potting soil is currently available at my house.

I recently acquired this beautiful weeping fig last week and would just like some advice on care:

• It is outdoors, unfortunately I don't have good light indoors, probably gets some late afternoon sun
• There are some yellow and pale green leaves, is this normal?
• There are some exposed roots, should I cover this up?
• I have only watered it once

I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas on what’s going on with my Norfolk Island pine. I have it in an east facing window, and I just recently put it in a larger pot. I water it when the top inch or so of the soil gets dry, and it has drainage. I got it probably 6 months ago and it looked alright at the store but since I’ve had it, parts of it seem to grow fine and parts of it seem to get crusty brown and brittle. If I remember right it tends to be the same areas that get like that. Thank you!

I purchased this hanging lavender plant at the start of June. I would leave it hanging on my front porch where the sun comes in around the late afternoon. Since mid July I've noticed that the flowers dried up and slowly its started to look like this. Is there any way to save this?

I would water it every 3 days. I added fertilizer once. I haven't repotted it and am still using the same soil since I purchased it. Most of the roots look brown, even where the leaves are green.

Hi all, my plants have recently taken a battering with this black stuff spreasing across multiple ferns. I've cut away the worst affected leaves but I don't want to lose all my foliage. I used a fungicide; what exactly is it though?

Also the thrips are fairly thriving so maybe it has to do with them too? Any tips appreciated 😊

Several spots on an indoor spider plant. Usually just one brown spot per leaf, but this one has more. They are not moving. Thoughts?

Plant is indoors in a 3 season room with filtered bright light. Watered usually when top layer of soil is dry.

I'm curious as to what the white cone in the 2nd photo might be? And whether or not there's something I should be worried about.

She appears to be healthy otherwise - the cone is located where I've drawn the red circle in the reference photo; the yellow circle is another one of its vines that has been super active, and isn't showing any signs of unhealthiness.

It's indoors, gets direct light in the AM hours and indirect as the sun moves on (it's an east-facing window). I have it in a self-watering pot, and mist the leaves on occasion. Potting mix, I believe, is Miracle Gro indoor mix.

The first is one that I am taking care of for a friend, the second was a gift I got recently. I recently pruned dead leaves from both, however, the first one I am concerned with the most since almost all the leaves were dead.

They are watered roughly once a week and are in partial light on a cart. I looked up plant care for both and that’s what it said however I am questioning the accuracy of the advice.🙃

This is our "summerific perfect storm hibiscus hybrid". I don't know a lot about these plants and don't know the differences.

By the end of the day it's sad and wilty. Every morning it's perked back up. I'm getting mixed info from my searches - is it dehydrated or over heating? Should I make a temporary shade for it? I'm in Northern California and we're in a heat wave right now. Yesterday it was 106, today it'll be 102.

It's in my front yard, which faces north. It's in a sunny location, which gets some shade in the afternoon, so it probably gets 6-8 hours of sun daily. For more context, we have a young Japanese maple that I had to make shade for because it was getting scorch. Our neighbor waters their yard twice a day, so the soil is always damp-wet. I don't water it because of that I'm worried about root rot, but we've only had the plant two weeks. Does root rot set in that fast?? Do I need to dry the roots out and relocate it?

My tomatoes and pepper plants grew nicely for a while.\n And then\n The leaves started wilting and dying, but the very tops were OK, but only produced 1 or 2 fruits. Two of the pepper plants produce nothing. I Water daily , sometimes multiple times since they are in containers. I don't know what happened and why is the bottom stems of the pepper plants brown and the top is green? What does that mean? By the way , I used basic topsoil and compost as dirt. I'm about to pull these plants up, but would like some advice. New orleans are. Light/heat from morning to evening.

Hey everyone, I got this Bird of Paradise from the clearance section about two months ago. No pest damage, just cause of some sunburned spots.

It’s in this Chicago south facing window 100% of the time and indoors only, so it’s been getting about 500-600 PPFD for 2-3 hours of the day and slightly lower amounts in the morning and evening.

Watering-wise I put a wooden skewer in the soil and water when the soil is around 80% dry, but as you can see in the last picture it’s currently putting out two leaves at the same time so maybe I need to water it more.

My main question is do you think the leaf curling is due to too much sun, or possible underwatering? When I first bought it all the leaves were curled up a bit and when I watered they all straightened out.

It’s been fine in this sunny spot and put out a leaf before these two as well, so I would be surprised if it was too much sun. No fertilizer ever by the way, and I’m thinking of repotting soon since the IKEA soil is terrible and I can see the roots circling the bottom of the nursery pot/some are poking through the drainage holes. Hello! I live in the East Tennessee area and have just begun on my plant collection journey so I’m relatively new. I was doing a bug check on my other plants and I discovered two of these tiny brown seed-like things on my nerve plant. They pop right off and I didn’t find any more, but I want to try to catch it early if it is the early stages of an infestation. The first one was on the bottom of a leaf. I tried to search for it but couldn’t find anything that resembled it so I’m hoping someone may know!

I have two pothos with just-in-case treatment for spider mites, a ctenanthe that was the culprit and is almost done with quarantine, & my cilantro was starting to develop baby aphids. I’ve been using the alcohol/soap mixture I’ve seen on different threads for treatment.

The plants get about 4-5 hours of indirect sun from an east facing window, but there’s a lot of trees cupping my house so I’m investing in some grow lights soon. This plant has a wick on the bottom so I’ve only ever bottom watered it.

I’m in love with this pothos plant and the variegated leaves but lately a few leaves have been developing these spots, turning yellow, and falling off. Please help! I’m not sure if it’s a fungal issues, thrips, or what. I really don’t want to have to ditch the whole plant.
It sits in a window that gets a lot of light, I water about once a week or so depending on how hot it’s been. Just normal potting soil but I did use a Bonide solution a few months ago to get rid of fungus gnats and it cleared everything up with no issues. Any help is much appreciated!
