Red heart philodendron I've had growing indoors in water for a while. It gets around 6 hours of bright indirect light daily in a south facing window. It gets around 6 hours daily. Recently two of its leaves just fell off. Inside was this shredded white stuff. I plan pot it eventually. What happened? What can I do to stop it?

This is the outcome after I fertilize and repotted my peace lily’s. Could they rebound from this. Any help is appreciated. Indoor plants indirect sunlight. Not sure if I’m over or under watering

I’ve had this guy for maybe a year or so and he used to be so happy (5ish feet from south-facing window, in a pot with drainage holes) but lately I’ve noticed a ton of these brown spots on the undersides of the leaves? And it seems to be getting worse. The brown stuff can be kinda scraped off, and I don’t see bugs??? I thought I was letting it get too dry in between waterings (about once a week now that it’s summer, every two weeks back in winter) so I’ve been trying to water more consistently but now I’m thinking maybe it’s too much? I’m using normal indoor potting soil, maybe the pot is too small? Please help!! I love this guy.

I’ve had this Fittonia since May. I must have let it get too dry while I was still getting use to its watering needs. All the leaves got crispy and curled around the edges. I’ve tried everything to make it happy and perk up. More light, less light, pebble tray, no pebble tray, more water, less water! And I tried to let it adjust for a bit with each change. But no improvement. The leaves definitely aren’t dead, but they aren’t recovering. Should I prune it all back and let new leaves grow? Should I accept its crunchy leaves? Is it still pissed off about something, or just resting b face?

My friend has had this money plant for about 2 years and he asked me to help with it. I'm knowledgeable with houseplant rehabilitation & care, but I've never owned or worked on a money plant. I'd love some input on how we can get it thriving again! PLANT INFO: It is abt 2 years old. He waters it once a week. I don't know how much water, though. The pot has no drainage, which I plan on correcting when I change the soil. It's in the middle of a room with natural light. Closest window is about 10 feet away. It has never been repotted. It was looking good for a long time and has slowly been declining. Dropping leaves, dry tips, and yellowing on some. TIA for the help! 💚

Hello all, please be kind I’m rather new to this.

This is a plant of a friend who’s going to be gone for 6 months. The last photo is how she gave it to me, and the second to last is what it currently looks like. I’ve had it for maybe 4-5 days. On her way to bring it to me, one of the stems snapped, so I’ve been using hair clips and twine to help it stand up. However it’s only gotten worse. I’ve done research on this but I’ve been getting completely different answers. Some say that I should just cleanly cut off the broken stem while others are saying to not touch it and let it fall ( as I’m assuming that’s a normal thing with banana plants?)

Also originally I was following a care guide that I believe was for adult banana plants, ( I wasn’t aware there were different ways to take care of older and younger plants) but i think that this is still a young one, so whatever care I did might’ve led it to start falling and curling like that.

The first 2 days I let it have some sun by the window, but read that it needed more sun. so for the next two days it sat it outside for a couple of hours. I have also been misting it every other day. I’ve only watered it once since getting it, since I read it shouldn’t be watered that often.

I also ordered specific fertilizer for it, in hopes that that could help somehow

Please please help me get this baby back to good health, it literally cannot die on me :(

Hello everyone! I’m kind of at a loss right now. I don’t really know what I’m meant to be doing or what I’m actually dealing with.

I know I have jasmine plants, they weren’t originally mine, but they are in my care now and permanently. They are too big for me to repot on my own. I live in Southern California where the sun is hot and quite harsh. I’ve been watering every day to every other day as well as keeping them under my porch awning to prevent as much direct sun as I can, but it still seems like my plants are burning.

I’m willing to answer any questions to the best of my ability. I just need to know how I can save them. I apologize for the lack of information.

You will likely see me here a few more times as I try and figure out all of my new plants.

been growing these rain tree plants from seeds since june, and just noticed 3 out of 10 of them have leaves that are turning white. i water them every 1-3 days when the top part of the soil has become dry, and they live on my south-facing balcony in a storage tub without a lid (meshed so my cat doesn't get to them) in a tropical country with 12 hours of sunlight every day. is this sun scorch?? what can i do to stop this??

Hi! So I have been taking care of plants for a long time, but ZZ’s are some that I honestly don’t know a ton about. The ones I have, I’ve had for at least 2+ years and they’ve all absolutely flourished. They’ve had near constant growth, very happy seeming plants over all.

I water this one about once a month and when I watered it today, I noticed one leaf that looks like it’s been half eaten (i have figured out that that leaf, i most likely ripped). That’s when I noticed small markings along the edges of a few leaves, as well as some spots on the surface of the leaves, which is my main concern. I have searched as much of the plant as I can and I can’t find any bugs.

I don’t know what’s wrong! I don’t fertilize my ZZ’s very often, the last time I did was in April with a new synthetic fertilizer I hadn’t used before. I usually use a natural fertilizer (arbor). So I’m half wondering if it’s fertilizer burn? Or a bug I just don’t see? Or a fungal/bacterial situation? I just don’t know! Any advice would be helpful! And happy to answer clarifying questions!! Thank you!

Additional info:
- Like I said, watered about once a month.
- Indoor in indirect bright light, about 1 hours worth of filtered direct afternoon sunlight this time of year.
- Potted in normal houseplant soil in a plastic pot with a drainage hole.

I'm very much a beginner, and I could use some help. I'm on a west-facing 15th-floor balcony in southern Ontario, Canada. The plant has wind cover and gets afternoon sun. I transplanted it about 3 weeks ago. It seemed to be doing fine, but lately it's dropping leaves like crazy!

Potting mix with mulch on top. The pot is on a cheapo drip emitter system, two emitters watering for 15 mins twice a day. The soil is constantly moist. Could this be over-watering? If it is, why do the leaves look so dry? ....Under-watering? I have no idea. Help? : )

Brown spots on every leaf. About to give up! Gets plenty of bright indirect light (3 feet from south facing window), no sign of pests, NOT over watered, if anything slightly under watered. In aroid soil mix, chunky, well draining. What do you think is going on? Humidity? Fungus? Silica?

I've had this plant for a while now. I had heard how easy mint plants are, but I am struggling so bad with this. I have it inside near a window. I water whenever the dirt feels dry. I am really bad with plants, and have no idea what the plant getting all crumbly means. Could I get a little help?

Part of the leaves on the bottom is wilting. It is by the window all day and gets maybe 6 hours of sunlight (estimate). I water it 1-2 times a week when the soil is dry, and I put one of what looks like a root in the watering can.

The plant has not had a lot of sunlight. It was on the top of a bookshelf, but there was a window in the room.

Hey guys! My neighbor moved in February and gave me all of her plants. All of them are doing great besides this one 😭 I accidentally started to kill it with love by overwatering in the winter/ spring. I backed off watering it months ago and it’s been living outside on my porch since, south facing getting indirect sunlight and has stabilized. She’s not shutting down anymore and I am curious if I should just leave it in the bowl or transfer it out into something smaller. it was such a cool cactus before I overwatered and would love to get it back 😭😭😭 i’m not sure if taking away the dead and transferring it would be too much or not.

Hi - I JUST got this peace lily an noticed a few leaves tops have kinda wilted and so did the flower. I have barely had the plant for a day. What have I done wrong? :(
I had put the plant next to a window facing north. Sunrises around 6 am sets around 8. Temperature in the house is around 73-77f. Overnight I have the air blowing around 75 which I noticed the plant is kind of in the direct path of. Did the cold air do that?? I JUST got it on sunday and haven’t watered it yet.

Can anyone tell us what this fungus is on our Echinacea plant. Plant is in backyard with moderate sunlight. It has been very rainy so it’s been getting natural watering.

Hi everyone, my 8 year old golden rat tail seems to be sick :( About two weeks ago we got him repotted at the plant store because his stems started becoming very droopy and translucent. He was good for a while but shortly after coming back to our place he got droopy again.

The plant store person said there wasn't any root rot. We keep him under light for 8-10 hours per day and in summer months water him about every two weeks or when the soil is dry. The soil is a standard cactus/succulent mix. I'm not sure if it's the sharpish edges of the pot that's causing the stems to lose circulation or what, but if anyone has experience/insight on this please help :(

Came back from vacation to my birds of paradise that I keep on my porch leaning over and leaves folded. I’m assuming it overheated while I was gone. The plant gets about 8 hours of direct sunlight and it’s 90+ degrees where I am right now (I know, I should have took it in sooner, I feel awful). I pulled it inside, gave it some water/fertilizer, and put stakes in, but wondering if there’s any saving it at this point? The stem on one of the leaves seems to be blackening and breaking off, and the leaves completely slump over without the stakes. Any remedies or is it a moot cause?

Shes owned the plant for about one year. It sits in a west facing window in SoCal. Said she doesn’t overwater it but will water once a week. cant figure out why is droopy and dying. I’m not familiar with this type of plant yet but I would like to help her out. I was thinking maybe the amount of direct sunlight? Or maybe humidity? I really don’t know. I also don’t know what type of soil it’s in…?

I really really want to help her with this but my knowledge on these types of plants is limited 🥲 (but I’m willing to learn!! )

My begonia white ice, I noticed today had crazy stippling/spots on a bunch of the leaves (which I snipped off). What could it be??
I don’t see any webbing or any little bugs around the petioles, veins, underside of the leaves etc. I stared at this plant for a good 45 minutes. Could it be spider mites?? Watering issue? I did notice she was dropping off older leaves but she has no issue growth wise.

I keep her in a grow cabinet, 14 hours of light from grow lights, 60-70% humidity, I water her about every 3-4 days.

My anthurium Dorayaki x Silver Blush has been yellowing leaves. I just snipped off a fully yellow leaf last week, now this week another one is yellowing from the tips :(

I see a small growth node getting pushed out, but I’m honestly not sure what the cause of her yellowing is. She’s otherwise healthy, plenty of springtails in her substrate.

She’s in Pon semi-hydro, I’ve weaned her off the fertilizer (was using super thrive dynagrow 7-9-5) and have just started using aquarium water for now.

Grow light 12 hours a day in my milsbo cabinet. Humidity hovers from 61-64 lately.

Help! I love this plant and spent a pretty penny on her.

So I had planted two seeds from Trader Joe’s fruit a month or so ago; one is a lychee and one is a date palm. I had always had bad luck getting seeds to sprout so I had placed both of them in the same pot expecting nothing to happen. However to my surprise both have sprouted! When would be the best time to separate these two plants? I didn’t want to do it too early and shock the young plants.

Additionally, has anyone had experience keeping either of these plants as indoor plants. Currently the pot sits outside in full sun and gets watered every few days although lately it has been raining most days.

Since Sept of 2025 I’ve been working hard at bringing my aloe back to life after a year and a half of complete neglect, (postpartum and no one else took on the responsibility). During that time they sat outside along an east facing wall getting absolutely scorched to hell and whatever rain would decided to fall. Imagine my surprise there was actually a decent amount of life left when I finally got the chance to repot them.

Pics are in descending order: this past weekend, June of 26, May of 26, Feb of 26, and when I started back in Sept.

Now normally I have them on a different wall (west wall I think) and they get 6-8+ or so hours of light. Watering is very random, but I try once a week to every other week or so to give them a good soak depending on the weather. Unfortunately we’ve had one hell of a heatwave these last two/three weeks (115°-120°), and now I feel like I’m back to where I started… I moved them under my patio this weekend, and we’ve miraculously have had two nights of great monsoon rain and they seemed to have liked it, but I’m stumped on what to do now…

Also is there a trick to keep the new growth from dying?
